Patient feedback reveals a deeply divided experience at this practice, with stark contrasts between positive and negative service aspects. Many patients praise the medical professionals for their skill and compassion, and reception staff are frequently described as warm and courteous. However, these strengths are significantly undermined by widespread systemic issues affecting access and communication. Appointment availability emerges as a critical concern, with patients reporting extended waiting periods, difficulty reaching the practice by phone, and rigid scheduling that lacks flexibility for urgent needs. Several patients describe phone lines remaining constantly busy or unanswered, making initial contact extremely challenging.
Communication failures extend beyond appointment booking. Patients report inconsistent follow-up on prescriptions, delayed notifications, and difficulty reaching doctors for necessary administrative tasks such as fit notes and medical records requests. Some describe having to make numerous attempts to contact the practice, with one patient documenting over attempts to reach staff. Reception experience is inconsistent, with some patients noting pleasant interactions while others report discourteous or dismissive behaviour, particularly when requesting accommodations or clarification.
The practice demonstrates responsiveness to genuine emergencies and shows capacity for supportive care when patients successfully access appointments. However, the barriers to initial access, combined with communication gaps and administrative inconsistencies, create a frustrating experience for many. Long-standing patients have expressed disappointment at perceived deterioration in service quality, particularly regarding appointment availability and phone accessibility.

Doctors who don't seem to care
Dr. Hall and Dr. Worley The sole competent physicians I've encountered Though Dr. Worley seems to have vanished (amusing) Absolutely avoid Dr. Antonov His behavior appears completely unhinged I consulted him about my irregular heartbeat and breathing difficulties, and he flatly stated he could offer no assistance Another unnamed doctor Blatantly denied having my recent blood test results, despite them being displayed on the computer screen right beside him I pointed out the visible results, to which he reluctantly acknowledged their presence 🙄 When I requested an inhaler after losing mine on the bus, the staff member insisted I must wait another month for a replacement I sarcastically asked if I should simply stop breathing until then 😱 Anyone considering registering with this medical practice: steer clear 😱

BadTotal lack of understanding of needs
It will be interesting if this gets a response because they were "too busy" to call me back on a matter that the receptionist felt qualified to judge its importance. She wasn't. Lime Grove in Matlock were far more attentive. Even the last 2 appointments to Parkside demonstrated a clear lack of understanding about stroke recovery and it's impact on daily living. GP surgeries of this standard are exactly why A&Es are busy. Patients seem to be an inconvenience.

Dismissive doctor crushed my partner's hope
Dr Davda dismissed my partner's spinal haemangioma, claiming his pain is psychological and not real, despite a consultant's prior diagnosis and recommendation for specialist referral. The doctor's approach was appalling, going so far as to label him a medication addict for taking prescribed painkillers that barely provide relief. The healthcare professional's attitude was completely unacceptable and showed a complete lack of empathy and medical understanding.

Compassionate help for our dementia concerns
Called today about my wife's possible dementia, and the receptionist was absolutely wonderful—compassionate and supportive. She quickly scheduled me an appointment for today. The doctor was incredibly kind and attentive, taking time to thoroughly explain everything, far beyond the usual consultation duration. I'm truly grateful for their exceptional care and understanding during this challenging time.

Staff screamed at me for records
I would rate this medical service even lower than one star if possible. When I sought my medical documentation to consult a neurologist regarding my epilepsy treatment in Australia, I was shockingly verbally abused by a staff member. Not only did she refuse to release my records, but she also prevented me from escalating the matter to management. Legally, healthcare providers are mandated to provide medical records upon request. The staff's conduct was absolutely appalling, and I am definitely filing a formal complaint with the NHS. This practice demonstrates zero commitment to patient care and should be completely avoided.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced
Completely useless and incompetent at every single aspect imaginable. They never return calls, fail to communicate results, and the front desk staff are shockingly unprofessional and potentially hazardous to anyone who interacts with them.

Cruel dismissal left me hopeless and scared
Absolutely appalling medical practice, dismissing a patient struggling with both depression and diabetes without any consideration for their psychological well-being. These doctors have demonstrated a complete lack of professional responsibility and compassion by removing the patient from their care, potentially leaving them vulnerable and without critical medical support.

Endless waiting on the 202-ring morning call
Getting in touch by phone is an absolute nightmare. I had to dial repeatedly, making 202 attempts before I could even join the waiting line. Once in the queue, it took three-quarters of an hour before I finally connected with a representative.

Desperate to see a doctor, no luck
I was in urgent need of medical attention and wanted to avoid the hospital if possible. I made 37 phone calls over several days, managing to speak with someone only twice. When I visited the surgery to secure a doctor's appointment, I was informed that no slots were available. The waiting room was completely empty during my time there, with a staff member merely filling out paperwork. The receptionist, after declaring no appointments were open, then commented, "You certainly look like you need to see a doctor." Thanks for that unhelpful observation while I was actively seeking medical help. Ultimately, I ended up at the hospital and was prescribed a two-week course of antibiotics. This marks the second time in three years I've attempted to see a doctor at this practice, and in the four years since registering, I've been unable to secure a single appointment. During my visit, they were simultaneously registering new patients. It seems unwise for a surgery struggling to manage its current patient load to continue accepting more patients.

Frustrating wait for my son's doctor visit
Placed on hold for my 4-year-old son after calling the previous evening with instructions to phone back in the morning. When I finally got through, a discourteous staff member informed me that all slots were filled. I'm absolutely certain that children under 5 should receive priority scheduling. Every other business and healthcare facility has resumed standard operations since COVID, yet doctors' offices remain completely ridiculous!

Rude staff ruined our long wait
I've encountered countless great general practitioners in England, but Parkside Surgery is a complete nightmare! I came in for an appointment with my daughter and endured a grueling one-hour wait. Then, when I had another appointment for my young child and arrived just 10 minutes late, they callously cancelled my slot. The reception staff, particularly this elderly woman, treated me with absolute disrespect, speaking to me in a manner that was totally unacceptable.

Clinic's always booked but empty waiting room
Absolute nightmare of a medical practice. Impossible to secure an appointment, constantly claiming they're fully scheduled even weeks ahead, yet when you walk into the reception area, it's always eerily empty. Just like every other place, they're still using COVID as a convenient excuse for their poor service.
