Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience with significant access challenges alongside positive recognition of clinical care. Appointment booking and waiting times emerge as persistent concerns, with patients reporting difficulty securing consultations through phone lines, lengthy waits once at the practice, and frustration with the digital-only scheduling system. Some patients describe the booking process as unnecessarily complicated, while others note extended delays between submitting electronic consultations and receiving responses. Reception experience varies considerably, with some patients praising courteous and helpful staff, while others report unwelcoming attitudes that discourage engagement.

Where patients do access care, clinical aspects receive consistent praise. Doctors and nursing staff are frequently described as compassionate, attentive listeners who demonstrate professional expertise and provide thoughtful follow-up. The e-consult service receives mixed feedback, with some appreciating rapid responses within hours, whilst others view the digital-first approach as a barrier to direct healthcare contact. Continuity of care is valued by long-standing patients who report sustained supportive relationships with the practice team.

The practice appears to operate under significant resource constraints, managing a large patient population with limited appointment availability. Feedback suggests that while clinical quality and staff courtesy are generally strong, the systems for accessing appointments require attention to reduce patient frustration and improve overall service responsiveness.

Terrible healthcare service leaves patient frustrated and neglected

I'm utterly astounded by the complete lack of responsiveness. For more than a week, I've been attempting to schedule an appointment. I submitted an electronic consultation a week ago, called on Monday and was promised a callback, which never materialized. I phoned again for the second time this week, only to be told that appointments are exclusively available for those in palliative care or children. Despite being required to have a medication review every six months, I haven't had a face-to-face consultation with a doctor in two years. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Frustrating delay in medical result communication

Absolutely abysmal service. I underwent an MRI at Spire Yale Hospital on March 12th, with results dispatched to Pendre Surgery on March 18th and 25th. Despite it now being April 8th, I've been instructed to call back on the 11th. After personally funding my MRI, the receptionist informed me that viewing my results is not assured without the Doctor's explicit approval? I've been a lifelong patient at this surgery, and their treatment is utterly unacceptable and demonstrates a complete disregard for patient care.

Skilled surgeons marred by receptionist's terrible attitude

The surgical team is competent, but the front desk staff member consistently displays an unwelcoming attitude and appears to take pleasure in making appointment scheduling difficult. Frustrating. I've chosen to have my medications directly transmitted to the pharmacy to avoid confronting the unpleasant reception experience.

Efficient service despite staff workload challenges

Despite being stretched thin by high patient volume, they maintain a quality service. My sole criticism is the e-consultation system; I would much rather have a direct conversation with a healthcare professional.

Compassionate and professional nurse who truly cares

I visited the practice nurse this morning, and she was absolutely fantastic - genuinely approachable and direct. Her extensive professional expertise was evident, and she quickly helped me feel completely comfortable. We also had a really pleasant conversation. Much appreciation.

Terrible healthcare practice killing patient trust

It would be safer to stand in the middle of a busy highway than attempt to get medical attention at this practice. In years past, my sole interaction with a doctor here was during a suicide attempt at work. They've now gone "fully digital," which seems like a tactic to avoid direct patient contact. I'm convinced the e-consult service is designed to make appointments nearly impossible. This practice is an absolute mockery of healthcare, and I'm not finding it amusing—I'm suffering. Everyone I've consulted has redirected me elsewhere, only to be sent back to this same uninterested practice. If anything, they're actively undermining the NHS. I sincerely hope all the doctors who left the country after Brexit are thriving elsewhere. Edit: The e-consult service, owned by the Hurley group, uses this platform to train AI without patient consent. It's now the only appointment booking method—essentially a data harvesting scheme forcing patients to jump through hoops just to see a doctor.

Compassionate care during our most difficult time

The healthcare team demonstrated remarkable compassion, expertise, and dedication. Following a sudden, devastating event affecting my family, we received outstanding support and treatment. Their E-consult service is truly impressive, consistently providing rapid, personalized responses. In one instance, I was contacted via phone within just half an hour, and typically, I receive same-day communication that addresses my concerns comprehensively.

Frustrating booking system ruins customer experience

Scheduling an appointment here is a nightmare. Every morning, you're forced to call precisely at 8:30, and even after battling through to speak with someone, they invariably claim they're fully booked and refuse to reserve a slot for the following day.

Exceptional care and compassion from amazing doctors

I'm crossing my fingers that these 5 stars will help elevate their ratings, as I have absolutely no complaints about the medical practice. The front desk team consistently demonstrates exceptional helpfulness and understanding. Yesterday, I completed an online consultation, and remarkably, they called me back within half an hour, and I was sitting in the clinic for my appointment shortly after. Dr. Morgan, the female physician I consulted, was visibly swamped with work but still managed to listen attentively and treat me with genuine warmth and empathy. During these challenging times, I implore you to maintain your current approach - you are genuinely transforming lives, including my own. I am profoundly grateful to each and every one of you 👍

Supportive patient shares honest perspective on healthcare

From my perspective, the staff and doctors consistently strive to do their best given the challenges they face, and it's unfortunate that the Practice receives numerous negative reviews. It's a reality that typically only dissatisfied individuals voice complaints, while the majority of patients who are reasonably content remain silent. Healthcare is an emotional and intricate matter, and perfect solutions aren't always attainable. I'm fortunate to be located within walking distance, which allows me to visit easily, and their online e-consult service is incredibly helpful - I'm invariably contacted within hours to discuss my concerns. With thousands of patients registered and a limited number of medical professionals, the surgery operates under significant constraints. We shouldn't expect staff to be perpetually waiting for incoming calls. While there might be a 15-minute wait to have a call answered, becoming impatient or confrontational serves no constructive purpose. These reflections represent my personal observations and experiences. Thank you, Pendre.

Exceptional healthcare that restored my faith in doctors

I booked an appointment on Tuesday, called on Wednesday, and was directed to UPCC in Wrexham. Treatment began on Thursday. The service was exceptional - the medical staff were incredibly kind, and their commitment and expertise were impeccable. In stark contrast to my previous practice of 50 years (the Laurels in Flint, which was dismally inadequate), this team represents the very best of what the NHS can be.

Completely frustrated with the process. Explained to the phone staff that not everyone has technical expertise, yet was still redirected. Upon arrival, I was asked for patient identification and details I simply don't possess. This comes after repeatedly calling the triage line three times over four days... absolutely futile.
