Quick callback got me seen within hours
I don't typically use NHS services regularly. However, I recently thought I might have a hernia. After checking the NHS website, I felt it was important to get it looked at promptly. (Honestly, searching for symptoms online can make you think the situation is far more serious than it actually is!) I rang the practice at 8.30am and was 12th in the queue, but I requested a callback which came through shortly after. A doctor was recommended, and one rang me back within an hour with an appointment scheduled for an hour later. I was seen by a clinician who was excellent - it turned out to be a groin strain rather than a hernia - what a relief! You often hear reports in the media and online about difficulties accessing doctor appointments, but I was able to see a doctor within 2 hours of my initial call and everything was resolved quickly. Practice won't share basic blood type information

Kept seeing different doctors every visit
I find the approach of some clinicians quite frustrating, though I'm not always certain who I'm seeing. I have a long-term condition requiring ongoing management and follow-up appointments, but I felt dismissed when my concerns were attributed to psychological factors. I've also struggled to access face-to-face consultations and have only been offered telephone appointments, which doesn't work well for my needs. I had an excellent experience today with very pleasant and helpful staff. While visiting the area this week, I developed an ear infection and needed assistance. I was informed that a member of the nursing team would contact me, which they did promptly, and they arranged an afternoon appointment for me. During the consultation, the problem was quickly identified and a prescription was provided. I am very grateful to the health centre for its caring and professional approach.

I had a very negative experience with this surgery. Several months ago, I contacted them on behalf of my father who was experiencing significant back pain and needed to see a doctor. I was assured that a doctor would call him back, but I explained that he would be in an area with poor phone signal due to work commitments. The receptionist's response suggested skepticism about the severity of his condition, which I found unhelpful and dismissive. More recently, my mother called after my father had attended A&E over the weekend. He was advised to book an urgent appointment with his GP for a referral to have a scan, but the earliest available slot was over a week away. The receptionist came across as unwelcoming and made the interaction feel like an inconvenience. I found the reception staff's approach to be particularly frustrating throughout both interactions. I would rate this practice very poorly based on these experiences and feel the service needs significant improvement.
