Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and booking processes. Patients consistently report difficulties securing advance appointments, with many describing the need to call at 8am as impractical for working professionals. Phone access presents a major barrier, with complaints of unanswered calls and long waiting times before reaching reception. When appointments are obtained, patients experience extended waits on the day and occasional last-minute cancellations. Reception experience is mixed, with some patients praising friendly and supportive staff, whilst others report discourteous and unprofessional interactions.
In contrast, medical care delivery receives more positive recognition. Patients frequently commend the competence and professionalism of clinical staff, noting excellent bedside manner and thorough assessments. Several reviews acknowledge that despite booking difficulties, the quality of care from doctors compensates for access challenges. A minority of patients report concerns about continuity of care and communication regarding diagnoses and treatment plans, particularly when consultations occur by phone rather than face-to-face.
The practice appears to face systemic pressures affecting appointment availability and phone responsiveness. Whilst some patients demonstrate understanding of wider NHS constraints, others find the current booking system unworkable. The contrast between positive feedback on clinical care and negative feedback on access suggests that operational improvements to scheduling and communication channels would significantly enhance overall patient experience.

Frustrating healthcare with impossible appointment scheduling
Scheduling an appointment here is a nightmare, with wait times stretching to nearly a month. The electronic consultation forms are an absurd requirement, particularly when urgent medical attention is needed. Filling out these forms typically consumes over 20 minutes, during which a receptionist could have easily booked multiple appointments. The system is poorly designed and doesn't accommodate everyone's needs, forcing patients to squeeze their concerns into a single category, which is then arbitrarily reviewed to determine if they merit an appointment. It's an incredibly frustrating process. Despite being a loyal patient at this practice for more than three decades, I am seriously contemplating switching to another healthcare provider due to these inefficient and impractical procedures.

Bad!
Worst customer service ever terrible medical experience
Absolutely dreadful customer support that completely fails to communicate. Despite being first in line, I was left hanging on the phone for over thirty minutes with no response. On the rare chance the call actually gets picked up, they redirect me to another number for the exact same inquiry, which is utterly ridiculous. This level of incompetence is shameful, and such a substandard service deserves to be permanently shut down due to their abysmal treatment and unprofessional approach.

Great!
Mixed feelings about e consult but great service
Despite the cumbersome and less-than-ideal experience of completing e-consult forms, which often lack appropriate categories for my specific needs, I remain largely content with the overall service quality. The medical professionals and support team are exceptionally friendly and competent, addressing concerns promptly and effectively with remarkable expertise.

Poor!
Terrible receptionists ruin what could be good care
The general practitioners themselves are fine, but the receptionists take rudeness to a whole new extreme without any justification. Scheduling appointments is an absolute headache, and even when I manage to secure one, I end up waiting for an hour despite arriving precisely on time. Completely unacceptable.

Great!
Decent care with some scheduling challenges
Overall satisfactory. The physicians (assuming you can actually get an appointment!) are competent. The front desk personnel have been reasonably supportive when I've encountered issues.

Terrible customer service at medical practice
During my visit to this medical practice with a companion, I witnessed how two Indian receptionists handled my friend's situation with extreme discourtesy and unprofessionalism. My friend, who struggles with significant depression and emotional instability, was deeply distressed by their inappropriate behavior and harsh treatment.

Impossible to get a gp appointment anywhere
I've been struggling to secure a doctor's appointment for weeks now. Following the advice to call at 8am sharp, I find myself in the queue, yet all slots vanish by 8:03am, despite being second in line! I've completed two online consultation forms, and still, I'm unable to book a GP appointment.

Incompetent staff ruined our medical procedure nightmare
Absolute nightmare of an appointment for a catheter procedure with my partner. The medical staff's incompetence resulted in her being completely unable to use the bathroom due to the nurse's clear lack of proper training. I strongly advise anyone to seek alternative healthcare providers, as the risk of developing additional medical complications from their subpar treatment is alarmingly high.

Excellent!
Exceptional gp service that exceeded my expectations
I'm genuinely perplexed by the negative feedback circulating about this practice, as my personal interactions have been remarkably positive. Having previously encountered two different general practitioners whose care was deeply unsatisfactory, I recently switched to this GP clinic just weeks ago. During my two consultation sessions, the doctors demonstrated exceptional professionalism, conducting comprehensive assessments that thoroughly addressed my symptoms. In stark contrast to my past experiences, where previous GPs seemed disinterested and consistently refused to schedule appointments, I now feel truly appreciative of my current healthcare provider. I sincerely hope they maintain this outstanding level of service for all their patients.

Bad!
Terrible service and constant clinic appointment cancellations
Absolutely abysmal service quality, scheduling consultations weeks ahead with nursing staff only to have them unexpectedly called off at the last minute 'due to unforeseen circumstances' - and this has occurred three times now. The medical practice's standards have steadily deteriorated over time, and based on other patient feedback, they've essentially reached a total breaking point. Utterly terrible, and if the rating system allowed, I would enthusiastically assign zero stars to reflect my profound disappointment.

Racist receptionists ruin healthcare experience
Hi, I'm a patient at Pikes Lane GP in Bolton. While most aspects are satisfactory, the two Indian receptionists display an unacceptable attitude. During my recent visit to the reception, I was treated with remarkable discourtesy. Their interaction with me was extremely unprofessional. Later, when my mother contacted them, they deliberately acted as if they couldn't comprehend her communication, and one staff member was particularly disrespectful towards her. I'm genuinely dismayed by this experience. The receptionists' behavior has left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated.

Poor!
Incompetent doctors causing unnecessary patient stress
My partner is receiving care from these doctors, undergoing ultrasounds and blood tests. They contacted her to schedule a telephone consultation about her results, but the earliest available slot is a month away. Given her struggles with depression and anxiety, the uncertainty and stress of potentially serious health issues are taking a significant toll on her mental well-being. Last month, they informed her over the phone about a possible endometriosis or polycystic ovary syndrome diagnosis, which I believe should have been discussed in a face-to-face consultation, especially considering her difficulty with phone communications. They've prescribed multiple medications, but due to the overwhelming nature of the call, she's unsure about the specifics of what she needs to take and when. The entire approach seems poorly handled, with a month-long wait to review her follow-up blood test results feeling completely unacceptable and frankly, ridiculous.

Frustrating medical practice with impossible appointment system
Absolutely appalling medical staff. Their appointment scheduling is a nightmare. You're constantly instructed to call at 8 am sharp, which is completely impractical for working professionals like myself. It's unreasonable to expect someone to take time off work repeatedly just on the slim possibility of securing a consultation for a routine medical check-up. The whole system is utterly unacceptable.

Helpful doctors but impossible to book appointments
I've received excellent care from the medical staff. The sole drawback is that when you call at 8am, if you manage to get through, you're informed there are no available appointments for the next month and a half.

Terrible doctors who don't care about patients
These doctors are absolutely terrible, with just one phone line and abysmal communication. Rux at the front desk cares only about herself and couldn't care less if patients get appointments for mental health or pain. I called yesterday for an appointment and was promised a callback in the morning, which never happened. They're now claiming it's because of my private settings, even though I explained I don't block calls. When I mentioned I've previously received calls without issues, Rux was adamant it wouldn't happen. I'll be escalating this complaint. My medical records will prove she shouldn't have rejected me. I'm not mentally stable, and my body is in constant pain. I've been seeing them for a while, and they've done nothing except push depression medication when I'm convinced there's a different underlying issue. Anyone seeking medical care should steer clear of this practice.
