Booking a doctor's appointment at this surgery is an exercise in frustration. Their policy requires patients to call early morning on the day they need care, essentially turning healthcare access into a competitive lottery. For anyone juggling work, childcare, or other commitments, this system is incredibly challenging. The process involves: 1. Frantically dialing at 8AM, joining a queue of patients desperately seeking a convenient appointment slot. 2. Hoping appointments remain available when you finally get through. If not, you're told to try again tomorrow - because clearly, medical issues can wait, right? 3. Miraculously securing an appointment, only to discover the available times are completely impractical. Can you actually attend? What about work schedules, school runs, or transportation? Wouldn't it be revolutionary if patients with non-urgent issues could book appointments in advance? This would undoubtedly improve staff planning, reduce patient stress, and enable better continuity of care. Patients could see their preferred doctor, continuing ongoing investigations without repeatedly explaining their medical history. This booking approach feels reminiscent of fast-food drive-thrus or petrol stations - just show up and hope. Even McDonald's offers delivery services now, so why can't this medical practice modernize their booking system? Perhaps their scheduling technology is stuck in a time warp. EDIT: Your subsequent explanation about pre-bookable appointments conflicts with my earlier experience. When I specifically requested booking 1-2 weeks ahead, I was flatly told this was impossible. Frustrating doctor's office with zero help

Contemplating potential medical needs? Steer clear of this practice. Attempting to schedule an appointment is a nightmare: endless phone waiting times, only to be informed the day is fully booked with no alternative slots available. Their go-to response? "Consult a pharmacist." But when you visit the pharmacist, they redirect you back, saying, "You must see your GP." It's an infuriating, circular runaround that leaves you without any medical assistance. Frankly, even a single star rating seems overly generous for this abysmal healthcare experience.

Endless wait and dismissive staff

Completely unacceptable. My encounter with this medical facility has been utterly frustrating. Their chronic tardiness is matched only by their total disregard for patient communication - you're left stranded in the waiting area for over an hour, and when questioned about wait times, staff simply respond with a dismissive "don't know" before walking off. I've attempted to discuss my health concerns, only to be met with the patronizing and unhelpful response of "well everyone gets sick" as if that addresses anything. When I specifically requested comprehensive blood testing and confirmed all tests were to be conducted, they still managed to overlook multiple screenings. Follow-up calls to their doctors reveal complete ignorance, with physicians repeatedly stating they "can't really advise" about my case. Absolutely the worst.

Receptionist barely awake monday morning

When I attempted to schedule an appointment for Wednesday on a Monday morning, the receptionist seemed half-asleep and dismissively mentioned plenty of slots were available, but I'd need to call back Wednesday morning for emergency bookings. Seriously? What an utterly ridiculous system! I was trying to plan ahead, not seeking an emergency slot, so why the complicated runaround? This absurd approach perfectly illustrates why I typically avoid dealing with this medical practice altogether. They need to get their act together - this is completely unacceptable.

Scheduling a travel nurse consultation is an incredibly frustrating experience with zero accommodation. Their communication process is completely rigid, and they actively prevent direct interaction with nursing staff. It feels like they're more interested in patients potentially contracting an illness than providing basic support. The administrative personnel come across as extremely discourteous and obstructive. I have absolutely no complaints about Plas Ffynnon Medical Centre. The entire team, from staff to physicians, are incredibly welcoming and supportive. Whenever I need an appointment, I'm always able to secure one on the very same day I call. Moreover, if I have a medical query that doesn't seem urgent enough to warrant an in-person visit, the doctor will proactively reach out and conduct a telephone consultation.

Not enough time for serious health concerns

Appalling experience.. My husband isn't typically a frequent medical patient, but he visited today with three specific health matters. The physician he encountered seemed inexperienced and visibly uncertain, even consulting reception staff for guidance. Our primary frustration centered on his prostate consultation. Given his family history - with both his father and uncle having battled prostate cancer - and his current age, he urgently needed a screening. However, the doctor dismissively claimed insufficient time and instructed him to schedule another appointment. This response is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a shocking lack of professional care and responsibility.
