Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience with significant contrasts between clinical care and administrative services. Medical staff consistently receive praise for compassion, attentiveness, and professional expertise, with many patients expressing confidence in their treatment and follow-up support. Digital services including online consultations and prescription systems are valued for convenience. However, appointment access presents a major challenge, with patients reporting substantial difficulties reaching the practice by phone, lengthy waiting times to speak with staff, and limited availability for timely bookings. Reception experience is polarised, with some patients noting welcoming and courteous staff whilst others describe discourteous behaviour and communication barriers. These administrative obstacles appear to significantly undermine patient satisfaction despite the quality of clinical care provided.
The booking process emerges as a particular pain point, with patients describing frustration around same-day appointment systems, extended phone queues, and unclear online registration procedures. Some patients report waiting weeks for appointments or facing barriers when attempting to access care. Responsiveness to patient needs during the booking stage is inconsistent, and several patients indicate they have sought care elsewhere due to these access difficulties. Whilst some long-term patients acknowledge the practice has maintained continuity of care over many years, newer or less frequent patients appear more likely to encounter frustration with the appointment system and initial contact experience.

Frustrating wait times and communication barriers
The clinic is overwhelmingly swamped, creating significant barriers to direct communication with physicians and initiating online consultations for new health concerns. While you can schedule a GP appointment via telephone, the earliest available slot is six weeks out, or you might secure a same-day appointment by calling precisely at 8:30 AM—but be prepared to endure a lengthy queue with just a single staff member handling incoming calls.

GreatNegative experience with Preston Park Surgery
am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with the service provided by your practice. It is practically impossible to get a same-day appointment. Despite instructions to call at 8:30 a.m., I am often already 30th in line, and I am told that no more patients can be seen. I have also experienced a complete lack of understanding of patients’ needs. I am currently dealing with an ear problem, and I was advised to handle it over the phone, which I find completely unacceptable. As a result of this experience, I have decided to change my doctor, as I consider the service provided by your practice insufficient and not aligned with patients’ needs.

Can't get a simple same-day appointment
I am writing to convey my profound frustration with the level of care at your medical facility. Securing a timely appointment seems virtually unattainable. Although instructed to call precisely at 8:30 a.m., I consistently find myself positioned 30th in the queue, only to be informed that no additional patients can be accommodated. Moreover, I have encountered a total disregard for patient care. While struggling with an ear condition, I was dismissively told to manage my issue via telephone, which I find entirely inappropriate and unprofessional. Consequently, I have made the decision to seek medical care elsewhere, as I believe the service provided by your practice falls significantly short of meeting basic patient expectations and demonstrates a fundamental lack of compassion.

Doctor helped me feel heard today
Just finished a phone consultation with the most incredible physician. Her compassionate and empathetic approach was truly remarkable. She's a shining example of medical professionalism. After our conversation, I felt completely heard and validated about my current situation. Her genuine understanding was deeply comforting. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to this exceptional doctor.

Wasted afternoon waiting on endless hold
I contacted my general practitioner's office and was left waiting on hold for an astonishing 100 minutes. During this seemingly endless wait, I managed to complete a series of household chores: washing dishes, vacuuming both the living and kitchen areas, changing my son's bed linens, scrubbing the bathroom, and preparing an entire meal. All the while, your infuriatingly cheerful automated system repeatedly claimed there was "just one person ahead of me." Seriously? If this is your interpretation of customer service, you desperately need to reconsider the meaning of the word service. Completely unacceptable. And I'm not finished. When I ultimately fail to connect with your office and end up in the emergency department, the physician criticizes me for not first consulting my GP. Well, here's a newsflash: I attempted to do exactly that. You're not merely inadequate — you're catastrophically incompetent. Utterly shameful.

Rude receptionist ruined my painful visit
Absolutely appalling and gratuitously discourteous front desk staff. Despite being a long-standing patient of this practice for nearly two decades, rarely seeking medical attention, I found myself in excruciating pain and was met with an unacceptable level of disrespect. The receptionist's demeanor was utterly reprehensible, with a tone and approach that was deeply distressing. His conduct was so callous that it brought me to tears, exacerbating an already anxiety-inducing situation through a complete absence of basic human decency. If the rating system allowed, I would award zero stars. Thoroughly dissatisfied as a patient. As a healthcare professional myself, I would never contemplate addressing anyone with such a flagrant disregard for empathy and compassion. I fully intend to escalate this matter directly with the practice management and the British Medical Association.

Endless queue for a basic health check
In the past, you could line up early to secure an in-person consultation. After being off work for two days, I made the effort to visit the clinic, only to be informed that appointments are now exclusively booked via telephone. I called and found myself 24th in the queue. Once I finally got through, I was told all slots were fully booked. My options were to schedule a face-to-face appointment in March, receive a callback from another clinic in three days, or repeat the same frustrating phone lottery the next morning. This approach to healthcare is unacceptable. Patients should not be left waiting when they are unwell. If the clinic cannot accommodate patients from the local area, they are clearly overwhelmed. There must be a more responsive system for people who need medical attention immediately, rather than being forced to endure days of uncertainty before even discussing their health concerns.

Receptionists weren't honest with me
Completely unsatisfactory experience where the front desk staff essentially admitted that deception towards customers is acceptable at this establishment.

Quick help through e-consult when phones are busy
Fantastic staff across the board. The welcoming front desk personnel are delightful, and the medical professionals provide top-notch treatment. Thrilled to have discovered their online consultation service, especially since getting through via telephone can be challenging, which is typical for most medical practices.

Friendly staff made me feel at ease
Excellent healthcare experience overall. The medical staff, including physicians, nursing team, and administrative personnel, demonstrate outstanding professionalism and dedication. They approach their responsibilities with genuine care and compassion. It's important to recognize they're ordinary people doing extraordinary work. I feel completely confident in their ability to manage my medical needs. The added bonus is the proximity and ease of access to their facility.

Terrible privacy breach at local clinic
Preston park surgery mishandles my personal data without consent or transparency. When confronted about their unethical practices, they resort to dishonesty and continue to fabricate stories. Their conduct is utterly ridiculous and completely unprofessional.

Suddenly dropped from my healthcare system
Suddenly removed from their system without any prior notice, claiming I hadn't responded to correspondence. Despite recently being prescribed medication, I was locked out and unable to access my account. The only way to regain access would be to physically visit their location and re-register with identification.

Dr Phadnis made my morning wait worthwhile
Despite the typical (exasperating) delay in reaching a staff member during morning booking hours - if you manage to get through at all (which seems standard for GP practices these days) - the overall experience is positive. The staff are welcoming, and all doctors are competent, but Dr Phadnis is the primary reason we remain with this practice. He is exceptionally compassionate, highly professional, genuinely caring, and remarkably kind (I cannot praise him enough).

Quick and smooth blood test visit
I had blood work done at this clinic, and scheduling was straightforward with plenty of appointment slots. The phlebotomist was excellent. However, trying to book a GP appointment is an absolute nightmare. The online booking process requires registering through a separate system, with zero guidance on how to do this. When I attempted to schedule in-person, the earliest available slot was a month away. Their preferred booking method is calling first thing in the morning and gambling on whether they'll have an opening that day. It's an incredibly frustrating and anxiety-inducing process. My recommendation? Skip this place and go to WellBN instead.
