While I acknowledge there are some genuinely kind individuals among the reception staff, the majority demonstrate a concerning lack of interpersonal skills. Their communication style tends to be confrontational and demeaning. It's crucial that they develop better etiquette and professional conduct. Patients are already dealing with health challenges, so the last thing they need is additional emotional strain from insensitive staff interactions. A little compassion and respect would go a long way in improving the patient experience.

The current system is terrible, with the discourteous receptionist making scheduling an appointment a nightmare. She instructs patients to call back the next day to potentially book a slot a month away. During our interaction, she talked over me and was incredibly disrespectful, even claiming I had explained my issues to her. Surprisingly, when I utilized the online booking platform, I received a response within hours and was offered an appointment just two days later. This contradicted the receptionist's assertion that they were completely booked. The medical professionals themselves are excellent, but accessing their care is incredibly challenging. For anyone experiencing difficulties securing a GP consultation, I strongly advise using the online booking system.

Securing an emergency consultation is already a nightmare, but today I attempted to schedule a standard appointment (which typically requires a three-week wait, which I was prepared to accept), and they inform me that I can ONLY book an urgent visit????? Terrible service from unhelpful and dismissive receptionist

I've been coming to this medical facility for quite some time, and never have I felt so disrespected by a receptionist as I did today. Following my recent surgery, I visited the doctor with concerns about a potential infection (the doctor was absolutely wonderful, beyond reproach). The physician advised me to schedule a nurse appointment to clean and redress my other wounds. When I tried to book this, I was coldly informed that no appointments were available until May 3rd and was curtly directed to the South Bristol urgent care centre for immediate treatment. Upon explaining that I cannot drive, the receptionist's callous response was simply, "Well, you can take the bus." Her dismissive attitude was so hurtful that I left the practice in tears, feeling completely unsupported and marginalized.
