Trash service. Constant appointment cancellation and staff who wouldn’t know compassion if it smacked em in the face. Long term illness - forget it. They don’t care.

Terrible service at purbeck health centre nightmare

I've uncovered yet another example of the NHS's systemic inefficiency and misuse of public funds. The staff, particularly at Purbeck Health Centre, seem to harbor a deep disdain for patients, consistently displaying an attitude of superiority. Despite repeatedly requesting afternoon appointments due to my work commitments that prevent morning availability, employee J. B. persistently and maliciously schedules my appointments during morning hours. When I explain my inability to attend at those times, she remains indifferent, seemingly intentionally assigning me slots that don't work for my schedule. These appointments could easily be given to patients who would be able to utilize them, yet her contemptuous approach suggests a deliberate attempt to inconvenience me.

Frustrating online system destroys customer service experience

Communication with this business has become incredibly frustrating. They've eliminated phone booking and now force everything through digital channels, which significantly complicates what should be a simple process. The front desk employees seem disinterested in providing direct assistance and simply redirect you to their website. While I understand their services might be under pressure, pushing everything online is definitely not an effective solution.

Disappointing healthcare with unhelpful medical staff

The standard of general practitioners has seriously deteriorated. Securing an appointment is challenging, and even when you manage to get one, the experience is far from satisfactory. The GPs tend to be either discourteous or ineffective. I've encountered more compassionate and helpful staff at the walk-in clinic, despite their constant busyness and extended wait times. Still, this alternative is preferable to this particular health centre. The only consistently competent staff members are the nurses. The receptionists are unreliable, and in an urgent scenario, I wouldn't depend on them at all.

Unhelpful service fails basic healthcare needs

I reached out today seeking guidance on travel vaccinations, uncertain about my immunization history. Instead of receiving helpful information, I was met with a dismissive response: "We are unable to offer travel vaccinations at this time you will need to go private" This is completely unacceptable. According to CQC guidelines: "NHS GP practices are required to offer certain vaccinations for the purposes of travel, free of charge. The travel vaccines available on the NHS are provided because they protect against the diseases thought to be the greatest risk to public health, if brought into this country. These are: polio (given as a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab) typhoid hepatitis A cholera" Given my lack of knowledge about my vaccination status, their generic and unhelpful reply seems like another attempt to dodge responsibility and provide minimal assistance. In terms of customer service, their response is utterly inadequate.

Amazing! After years of frustration, I finally encountered a delightful receptionist who was genuinely helpful when I called. Previously, their customer service was absolutely dreadful, particularly when scheduling appointments. I was completely taken aback when they promptly arranged a routine blood test for me. The booking process was smooth, and the nurse was incredibly kind (which is typical of their staff). It appears a new management team has stepped in, and the improvement is remarkable. Frustrating clinic with unhelpful staff and impossible booking

The medical service itself is acceptable when you finally get to speak with a physician. However, the process of scheduling an appointment is incredibly frustrating. Booking slots are essentially limited to 8am weekday mornings, when everyone is simultaneously trying to secure a time, meaning if you're not lightning-fast, you'll miss out. Alternatively, you're looking at appointment wait times exceeding three weeks. Moreover, once you actually manage to secure an appointment, the reception staff appear utterly miserable - as if serving a prison sentence - and treat patients with complete contempt, regardless of how friendly or pleasant you are. To those staff members: if interacting with people who need assistance is so unbearable, you're absolutely in the wrong professional field! Having worked in emergency services myself, I know this behavior is completely unprofessional and unacceptable when dealing with the public. If I weren't restricted by my geographical location, I would absolutely avoid this practice entirely. It's truly disappointing that a zero-star rating isn't an option.

You're forced to ring precisely at 8am, battling an impossible queue, and even when you finally connect, you must sit and wait for the doctor's callback. Then, when you attempt to verify the call, they claim you missed it - despite my phone sitting right beside me with zero missed call notifications. Even if I were on another call, the phone would signal an incoming line. Their customer service is incredibly unhelpful, and their attitude seems deliberately obstructive. It's clear they don't understand patients aren't calling for entertainment, but out of genuine medical need. This is truly the most inefficient and frustrating appointment system I've ever encountered.

This medical practice is appalling! They removed me from their patient list for voicing my concerns. Initially, I waited three weeks to have both my young sons seen, attending an appointment only to be informed no booking was made. After consulting with a nurse, I scheduled another appointment. Immediately after leaving, the nurse called to confirm the appointment. When I arrived the following week, I was told no appointment had ever been arranged. Consequently, they struck me from their patient roster, preventing me from obtaining my essential mental health medication. Considering I've just given birth, my baby will now miss her crucial six-week vaccinations. Moreover, my son's rash has progressively spread across his belly, back, and arms due to their refusal to examine him. A completely unacceptable medical facility with equally unacceptable personnel!

Terrible healthcare service that fails its patients

The medical practice is absolutely terrible. As someone in my fifties, I've been experiencing health issues, but their appointment system is ridiculously restrictive - you can only call exactly at 8am, which is impossible for working people. I was forced to spend £250 on a private blood test, and unsurprisingly, the results showed some worrying indicators. I diligently emailed the results and even hand-delivered a physical copy to the surgery, where they promised a doctor would review them. Since then, complete radio silence. I've now had to shell out another £50 for an online consultation just to get some attention. I'm definitely changing healthcare providers - this practice is completely unacceptable.
