Feedback reveals significant operational challenges affecting appointment access and communication. Patients consistently report difficulties reaching the practice by phone, with calls frequently dropping after lengthy waits, and appointment availability severely constrained with waits extending several weeks. Reception experience is mixed, with some staff described as supportive and helpful while others are noted as dismissive or lacking empathy. Prescription errors occur repeatedly, causing delays in medication supply and requiring patients to make multiple visits to resolve issues.
Positive feedback highlights compassionate medical professionals, particularly several named doctors, and the convenience of online booking and messaging systems where available. Some patients report excellent care experiences and responsive communication through digital platforms. However, these positive interactions contrast sharply with widespread complaints about inflexible policies, rushed consultations, and insufficient staffing capacity.
The practice appears to have experienced recent improvements in phone systems and online services, with some patients noting enhanced functionality. Despite these developments, access barriers remain substantial, with patients describing the booking process as frustrating and time-consuming. The overall service pattern suggests capacity constraints affecting appointment availability and phone responsiveness, alongside inconsistency in reception demeanor and clinical consultation quality.

Exceptional care and compassion from caring professionals
Since joining this medical practice nearly two years back, every interaction with their team has been exceptional. Today's consultation was particularly impressive - I felt completely heard, and the staff meticulously walked me through all available options, leaving me feeling incredibly confident and optimistic compared to when I first arrived. I'm immensely grateful to the entire medical team, with special appreciation for Dr Crutchley, who was particularly helpful during today's appointment.

A significant improvement over the previous Failsworth Group - and let's be honest, that wasn't a high bar to clear!

Frustrating phone system ruins urgent medical needs
I sought an immediate medical consultation and phoned early Tuesday morning at 8am, only to encounter a complete lack of response for the initial five minutes before the call abruptly terminated. It appears their telecommunications infrastructure was overwhelmed, which simply indicates they need to upgrade their system. After overcoming that hurdle, one must endure an incredibly frustrating process of repeatedly dialing - and I'm not exaggerating - around 20 times just to enter a waiting list (where I initially ranked as the 19th caller), with minimal likelihood of securing a same-day appointment. Thoroughly disheartening, I observe no meaningful progress from the previous general practice in Failsworth that was similarly shut down by the Clinical Commissioning Group for nearly identical operational shortcomings.

Worst medical service ever absolute nightmare
These medical professionals are absolutely absurd. They claim to open at 8, but if you call at 8:01, they immediately dismiss you without even putting you on hold, simply stating they cannot help and to call back. By 8:10am, all appointments for the day have vanished - it's a complete mockery. I've spent four consecutive days attempting to secure a medical consultation. Since Quayside took over, the service has deteriorated dramatically; if anything, they're even more incompetent. Previously, you could at least schedule an appointment, and they were reliable for a month. This medical practice is unquestionably the most terrible healthcare provider in the entire region.

Speedy service saves patient from eye drop stress
After my eye surgery, I discovered the eye drops from the hospital wouldn't suffice for the full 14-day period. I emailed a request for more drops. Remarkably, Sharon reached out to me within 15 minutes of my email (around 5pm), asking to verify the hospital's prescription. I promptly sent her the documentation. The following day at 1pm, the drops arrived. My sincere appreciation for their swift and efficient service.

Unnecessary consultation wasted my precious time
During my in-person consultation, the physician ordered additional blood work and indicated she would handle the prescription without further discussion. Once the test results arrived, the receptionist called, stating the doctor wanted to speak with me. I reminded them that the doctor had previously committed to directly issuing a prescription. The receptionist countered that the doctor wished to review my treatment choices. I scheduled a phone consultation. After nearly two weeks of anxiety, convinced the blood test had uncovered something significant, I finally spoke with the doctor, who prescribed exactly the same medication she had originally mentioned weeks earlier. Absolutely nothing needed to be discussed. This was a complete misuse of both my and the doctor's time. Another patient could have utilized that appointment slot more productively.

Worst medical service ever painful and frustrating
The medical reception staff at Quayside are completely incompetent and utterly useless. I spent thirty minutes on the phone attempting to resolve a prescription that was submitted a week ago and still hasn't been processed. Despite being told yesterday that it would be ready this morning, following my recent full knee replacement, they now claim it will take at least 72 hours while I'm suffering in extreme pain. When I tried to request an appointment with a doctor, they refused and then abruptly ended the call. This level of service is absolutely unacceptable and totally unprofessional. I cannot comprehend how they consider this to be anything remotely close to adequate patient care.

Quayside medical practice exceeded my expectations
Despite hearing numerous negative accounts, I must respectfully differ. While I'm not a frequent patient, over the past three weeks I've needed to contact the clinic for urgent same-day consultations regarding a persistent allergic condition. Although I might have been as far back as 17th in the waiting line, I was attended to within a mere 7 minutes, and each of the three times I successfully secured a same-day appointment without complications. Kudos to Quayside! The physicians I encountered during each visit were absolutely excellent!

Friendly staff and smooth service transformed my experience
My experience with this medical practice has undergone a total transformation. Previously, I would feel anxious about reaching out to the doctor, but now communication is effortless, the staff are fantastic, and operations generally proceed without a hitch. I want to extend particular appreciation to Nicola at the front desk, who was incredibly supportive in resolving my prescription issue today - her assistance was truly invaluable!

Heartless clinic denied care for medical emergency
I'm facing a critical health challenge. My incontinence led to a 10-minute bathroom visit, causing me to arrive 10 minutes late to my appointment. Despite this, I was completely denied access to see the physician. Dr. Pilkington is truly an exceptional doctor, but consistently runs behind schedule. This dismissal feels like another devastating blow to my already difficult situation. The non-clinical staff are acting with dangerous medical authority, potentially risking patient safety. I'm convinced this dangerous practice will persist until a fatal incident occurs. Truly heartbreaking.

Disappointing service and declining patient care
Initially, our experience seemed promising, but their service has rapidly deteriorated. Scheduling appointments has become increasingly challenging, and the staff's demeanor has shifted from welcoming to dismissive. They're now abrupt, suggesting patients simply find another general practitioner, which is unacceptable. If they continue on this trajectory, they'll mirror the decline of FGP. It's perplexing why they accepted such a large influx of patients when they clearly lack the capacity to manage them effectively.

Complete disappointment, even more frustrating than the Failsworth Group Practice. Discourteous employees, incredibly challenging to schedule a consultation, switching healthcare providers without hesitation.

Compassionate doctor helps me understand myself better
Throughout my life, I felt somewhat unique, and someone proposed that I might have autism. I scheduled an evaluation at the local medical center and consulted with Dr. D Pilkington. This occurred a couple of years back, and despite his youth, he advised me to return for a follow-up appointment so he could better prepare. A week later, I returned, and after conducting thorough research, he dedicated 30 minutes to comprehending my situation. Subsequently, he referred me for a professional assessment. Following multiple consultations, I was ultimately diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. This diagnosis has been transformative, and I will forever be grateful for the exceptional care provided by Dr. Pilkington.

Smooth surgery with one minor communication hiccup
Extremely satisfied with the surgical procedure, the service was prompt and responsive to critical requirements. I have just one minor suggestion: update the voicemail greeting. The current message sounds outdated and was clearly created during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It's now well over a year old and no longer reflects the current situation.

Heartless healthcare leaves patient feeling completely abandoned
I am deeply disheartened to report my disappointment with a medical practice I've trusted for over five decades. Their rigid system requires calling at 8am sharp for an appointment, which would be fine under normal circumstances. However, having just undergone a total hip replacement and managing significant pain with codeine, I'm left completely sedated. This morning, by the time I managed to call at 9:30am, all appointments were predictably gone. What truly breaks my heart is the complete absence of human understanding and flexibility. There's no consideration for patients recovering from surgery whose medication might impair their ability to make timely calls. The receptionist's robotic response of "appointments aren't released until the morning" was infuriating. Her suggestions to call an alternative number or dial 111 only compounded my frustration during a vulnerable moment. I am left feeling abandoned and unsupported, desperately hoping I won't require their assistance again, as I have zero confidence in receiving any meaningful help or compassion from this practice.

Worst medical experience of my life
I am thoroughly dissatisfied with this medical practice after being a patient for three decades. Never before have I experienced such challenges in scheduling a doctor's appointment, and the reception staff have been remarkably unsympathetic and detached. At this point, I would absolutely not suggest this surgery to anyone else.
