Given the challenges of a financially strained and overwhelmed healthcare system, I believe Quayside Medical genuinely strives to provide quality care. My interactions with Dr Pilkington have consistently been outstanding, particularly concerning mental health and gender identity support. I recognize how fortunate I am, as such comprehensive and compassionate care seems uncommon elsewhere. The practice's administrative processes have notably enhanced over time. The ability to handle appointments and prescriptions through their online platform is incredibly convenient. Since I typically schedule my consultations well ahead of time, I cannot speak to the availability of more immediate appointments.

Negligent care led to unbearable suffering

Incompetent medical professionals misdiagnosed my condition as sciatica when I actually had a slipped disc, resulting in four days of excruciating pain that led to bowel complications and ultimately required an ambulance transport to the hospital, where I remained for three days. Upon discharge, I sought an appointment for pain medication and sleep aids due to my intense suffering, only to be informed of a two-week wait to see a doctor. Distraught, I broke down in tears while pleading with the reception staff, who displayed absolutely no empathy, compassion, or sense of professional responsibility. I have since filed a formal complaint against these staff members and the physician, who I find completely reprehensible in every aspect. I strongly caution anyone against joining this medical practice, as your health and well-being could be at serious risk.

Frustrating prescription service fails repeatedly

Every time I need my recurring medication, there's inevitably a mistake with my prescription, with at least one item consistently omitted. This forces me to endure a two-day wait to obtain the missing medication. If these staff and doctors were employed by any other organization beyond the NHS, they would undoubtedly be terminated for such persistent incompetence.

Terrible service and impossible to get appointments

A complete mockery of a medical practice. Booking an appointment is impossible, and you're constantly redirected to the walk-in center. They claim you should call at 8am to schedule, but the phones are perpetually unanswered. This used to be an excellent medical facility, but now they're overwhelmed with patients and clearly understaffed! Anyone with a job should forget about getting a proper appointment and head straight to walk-in if they want any chance of being seen. What an absolute embarrassment of a healthcare provider!

Frustrating healthcare system needs serious improvement now

Getting an appointment here is ridiculous. Check the reviews - they're not entirely incorrect. I just tried calling for a slot next Monday, but you can only ring at 8am, and by then, all available times are gone. Come on, staff should start earlier! Those of us who work also need medical care, and we contribute to the NHS too. This isn't the first time I've experienced such frustration, and it's absolutely infuriating! 😡

Horrible medical practice with unhelpful receptionists

I spent more than an hour on hold, stuck at number four in the queue, and was forced to hang up due to another commitment. When I reached out to the medical office, I was met with two dismissive and rude receptionists. Once I finally interrupted their idle conversation, they were incredibly unhelpful and abrupt. Now, I've been left without any medical assistance for over a week. Their lack of professionalism is appalling. It seems they need to reevaluate their appointment allocation system and ensure that patients seeking genuine medical attention are prioritized, rather than allowing time-wasters to monopolize resources.

Decades of care restored to almost original glory

I've been a patient at this medical practice for nearly three decades. The quality has dramatically declined over the past 3-4 years. Most of the original staff departed and were substituted with less compassionate replacements. Securing an appointment became challenging, with a different physician each visit. Phone scheduling was frustrating, often requiring a two-week wait to see anyone - making the walk-in clinic a faster alternative. Fortunately, things have significantly improved in the last year. Phone systems are now functional, and online booking is available. The medical team has enhanced considerably - doctors, nurses, and reception staff are all more professional. Dr. Mark Crutchley, in particular, is exceptional - arguably the finest physician I've ever encountered. The practice's management has become attentive and genuinely caring. The service is now nearly restored to its previous outstanding standard.

Dr. Mark Wiltshire is hands down the most compassionate physician I've encountered. His warm demeanor and reassuring approach make him stand out, and I'm completely committed to him as my sole healthcare provider. Using Patient Access for booking appointments is incredibly convenient - I can schedule everything digitally via touchscreen without needing to interact with reception staff, which streamlines the entire process. Recently, I've needed several steroid injections, and Dr. Wiltshire managed everything brilliantly. The receptionist was also wonderfully supportive in coordinating my appointments. Dr. Wiltshire consistently provides exceptional guidance regarding my weight and blood pressure, offering expert advice that I truly trust. He's an absolute professional and a remarkable doctor.
