Records lost and trust broken

Completely unacceptable medical practice. My encounter with Queen Road Surgery in Shotley Bridge has been utterly frustrating. My medical documentation was never properly transferred, and as a result, the Doctor actually suggested I was fabricating my PTSD diagnosis, simply because they were too lazy to manage my records correctly. What possible justification could there be for such substandard care? One anticipates empathy and fundamental professional standards from a general practitioner, not to have one's medical condition challenged due to their administrative incompetence. Truly appalling healthcare service.

Queens road surgery is an excellent medical practice. The staff are incredibly compassionate, the facility is immaculate and spacious, providing ample room for all patients. Prescription turnaround is prompt, typically within seven days. The parking situation is convenient, with a good-sized lot for the surgery and an additional hospital car park nearby if the main lot is full. I would wholeheartedly endorse Queens road surgery to anyone seeking a new healthcare provider.

Disappointing drop in medical care quality

I initially utilized this medical practice back in 2013, then relocated. Upon returning three years ago, I was shocked by the decline in quality. While the nursing staff and reception team remain excellent, deserving their 5-star reputation, several physicians have proven disappointing. Their approach is markedly unprofessional and patronizing, seemingly oblivious that patients can observe their documentation. These doctors attempt to claim certain NHS procedures are not standard, which is patently false across the broader healthcare system. I've submitted a formal complaint and am still awaiting a response from John Blackburn-Wood, the practice manager. The overall standard of care has deteriorated significantly, leaving me deeply disillusioned with how far this surgery has fallen from its previous high standards.

Considering the current landscape of general practices, where appointment availability is often challenging and reception staff can be discourteous, Queens Road Surgery stands out remarkably. After relocating to this area just over twelve months ago, my fiancé and I transferred our medical care to Queen's Road. The difference compared to our previous GP is extraordinary. The initial interaction with their reception team has consistently been characterized by kindness, empathy, and exceptional assistance. Our interactions with the medical professionals, including nurses and doctors, have been equally impressive. To further illustrate our positive experience, we recently experienced a significant car accident, and the receptionist I spoke with was incredibly supportive. Even during a moment when I was emotionally overwhelmed and crying, her compassionate approach helped me regain composure. Sincere gratitude 🙏🏻

Parking confusion with blue badge at queens road

Recently accompanied my mother to a medical appointment and utilized a disabled parking space with my blue badge clearly visible. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the requirement to input my vehicle's registration number upon arrival, resulting in a £60 parking penalty. I was quite frustrated, as there were no visible signs indicating this specific procedure. Fortunately, the surgery's manager intervened and successfully resolved the situation, cancelling the parking fine. I'm grateful to Queens Road Surgery for their prompt and helpful response in addressing this matter.

Waited 30 mins but doctors were great

The medical practice here is quite good. They're reasonably efficient, though my most recent consultation was delayed by over half an hour. However, I understand this is typical of the current NHS situation, so I'm not particularly bothered. The physicians are excellent and genuinely attentive in my experience. Throughout my history of various health challenges and persistent health-related anxiety, Queens Road has consistently provided supportive care. My primary criticism is with the front desk staff. While some are wonderfully helpful and communicative, there's at least one receptionist who comes across as extremely abrupt, verging on discourteous. They consistently seem disgruntled and irritated when patients seek information, which creates an unwelcoming atmosphere. Despite this drawback, it remains a solid medical practice and certainly superior to other local options!

Proceed with caution when considering this medical practice. John, the practice manager, wields significant control over patient access to GPs, determining who receives care and who does not. After dedicating 52 years to nursing, I find it deeply disheartening that individuals like him are now steering the direction of the NHS. It feels as though my entire professional lifetime has been rendered meaningless by such management practices.

Dr Clarke helped me feel heard

I really appreciate this medical practice and find Dr. Clarke exceptionally competent, alongside most of the other physicians who are all highly skilled, with just one exception. That particular doctor has been consistently discourteous, interrupting me and displaying a patronizing attitude that makes me feel unheard. Despite this single negative experience, all other medical staff are outstanding. The reception team is particularly welcoming, and there's one young staff member who has been incredibly helpful during my previous visits. I'm especially grateful to Dr. Clarke and Clare the pharmacist, who genuinely seem committed to my healthcare. While I'm generally very satisfied with the surgery, I'm currently facing a significant challenge regarding some incorrect medical notes that were added by an external party. I was only made aware of these notes by Dr. Worthy and am seeking guidance on how to address and correct them. Notwithstanding this issue, I consider this an excellent medical practice with remarkable healthcare professionals.

Kind dentists helped calm my daughter

Ryan, Michelle, and the reception team were incredibly supportive when my daughter was feeling nervous about her tooth extraction. They walked her through the entire process, offering comforting words and maintaining a positive atmosphere. They even managed to help her relax by making her smile and laugh.
