Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a practice with significant operational challenges that overshadow some positive clinical experiences. Appointment access remains the most pressing concern, with patients reporting lengthy phone wait times, unavailable slots despite calling at recommended times, and booking system failures across both telephone and app-based methods. Reception experience is polarised, with some patients praising courteous and welcoming staff while others describe disrespectful, dismissive, and unhelpful interactions that leave patients feeling anxious about contacting the practice. Communication breakdowns are evident throughout feedback, including missed callbacks, unclear information about procedures, and poor coordination between different service areas.

Where patients successfully access care, clinical staff and medical professionals receive consistent praise for compassion, competence, and thorough examination. However, systemic issues with appointment scheduling, care coordination, and administrative responsiveness create barriers that prevent many patients from receiving timely treatment. Several patients report being redirected to alternative services or emergency departments due to inability to secure appointments, and some describe experiencing delayed referrals and inadequate follow-up on test results. The practice appears to struggle with managing demand, resulting in a service experience that feels fragmented and unresponsive to patient needs.

Long-standing patients note a deterioration in service quality over recent years, particularly following changes to booking systems and management. While some patients report success with same-day appointment access through calling at specific times or using the app, many others describe these methods as unreliable and frustrating. The disconnect between positive clinical care and poor accessibility creates an overall impression of a practice with capable medical staff constrained by administrative dysfunction.

Terrible customer service that never calls back

Absolute frustration with this company's broken communication. I'd rate them zero stars if possible. They made a commitment to return my call, but it's completely empty. I initiated contact this morning at 8 AM, and hours later, still no response from them.

Terrible service and impossible to reach anyone

Updated review November 2024: After discontinuing their online consultation and prescription platform through DR iQ, this medical practice has become completely ineffective. Securing a prescription or booking an appointment now requires enduring an antiquated two-hour phone queue. Absolutely terrible service. 1/5 stars. Previous review December 2019: Reiss Ledwich in the administrative department was exceptional. I had been waiting anxiously for a critical form to be processed and returned, which was already overdue. Previous staff interactions left me feeling frustrated and uncertain, until I connected with Reiss. She was outstanding. She proactively kept me informed about the form's progress and ensured the doctor completed it within 24 hours! It would be fantastic if more administrative staff demonstrated her level of dedication and efficiency. Sincere appreciation! Oscar.

Terrible service and unprofessional medical staff nightmare

Absolutely the most subpar surgical experience imaginable. Attempting to reach their office means enduring a minimum half-hour phone wait, only to be unceremoniously disconnected. Their conduct is utterly disgraceful.

Worst medical service ever, avoid at all costs

The front desk personnel display a complete lack of care and an overwhelmingly condescending attitude. Any details you might extract about scheduling are dubious at best. Securing a direct conversation with a physician seems nearly unattainable, and when you finally manage an appointment, you're typically assigned a healthcare consultant who might, if you're exceptionally fortunate, briefly skim through your medical records.

Frustrating healthcare experience with zero communication

I underwent medical tests nearly eight weeks back and was recommended to consult a physician about the findings. Ever since, I've been dialing their office precisely at 8 AM daily, enduring wait times stretching to two hours, only to be informed that no appointments are accessible. The staff cuts me off before I can describe my circumstances, dismissing my attempts to discuss my concerns. Whenever I seek any insight into my situation, they curtly state that phone consultations are impossible and instruct me to retry the following morning at 8 AM sharp. My anxiety is growing as I'm left wondering whether my test results might indicate something potentially grave.

Terrible service and discrimination at this clinic

I strongly advise against choosing this practice. My experience has been nothing but poor service and blatant discrimination towards non-native English speakers like myself. I've repeatedly tried to schedule a doctor's appointment, but each time they conjure up ridiculous excuses to avoid seeing me. It's been years since I've actually consulted a physician at this clinic. When I attempted to speak with a manager about my concerns, the receptionist's only response was to mock me with laughter. My sincere hope is that this clinic shuts down, as they are shamefully extracting money from the public while providing absolutely no meaningful medical care, which is completely unacceptable.

Incompetent staff wasted my entire day

I was scheduled for injections by reception staff that they don't actually provide. I sacrificed work time for this appointment. Upon arrival, I inquired about my consultation and discovered I was supposed to be at the Lister practice (known for discourteous staff). I traveled there, re-checked in, only to learn they don't even have the required injections. Forced to return to Queens Road, I demanded an explanation. A nurse eventually informed me that GPs no longer perform these injections, despite being booked weeks earlier. Throughout this entire frustrating experience, the staff displayed a shockingly nonchalant attitude, offering zero apologies or accountability. The receptionists are clearly unqualified and desperately need either comprehensive training or complete replacement with competent personnel. Their unprofessional approach is utterly unacceptable. I'm bewildered about how our tax contributions are funding such substandard healthcare services. This level of incompetence is truly appalling.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs

This medical practice is arguably the most frustrating I've encountered. Their customer service is abysmal. Calling at 8 AM already means being behind over 30 people in the queue. Even when they attempt to return your call, all available appointment slots have vanished. Their mobile application's booking system has been non-functional for an extended period. Securing a doctor's appointment feels like an impossible feat. Additionally, some staff members demonstrate unprofessional behavior, displaying rudeness during phone interactions and providing inaccurate information that further complicates problem resolution and reduces the likelihood of consulting a qualified healthcare professional. I intend to file another formal complaint with the ICB (this will be my second complaint within just two months), and I strongly urge anyone experiencing similar difficulties with this practice to take identical action.

Terrible service at queens road medical center

I received a text prompting me to schedule a flu vaccination online, which I did. Upon arrival, the check-in process went smoothly, but then the receptionist informed me I was at the wrong location and should have been at the Lister surgery a mile away. I was certain I had booked for Queens Road, and the initial booking even displayed the name of the assigned nurse. However, the receptionist insisted I leave without any consideration. Naturally, there was no way I could reach the other surgery in time. The staff member offered no apology or explanation and made me feel entirely responsible for the mix-up. Her unprofessional demeanor was evident as she lazily leaned on her elbow, avoiding eye contact and sighing dramatically at everything I said. The entire interaction was incredibly discourteous and disrespectful.

Terrible service and endless waiting at this surgery

Do not sign up with this medical practice, as their staff appears completely incompetent and will leave you in limbo for extended periods without providing any clarity about procedures or next steps. The communication and appointment scheduling process is extremely poor, with waiting times stretching out for months. It's incredibly exasperating, particularly when you're seeking medical guidance and support, only to be met with total unresponsiveness and prolonged uncertainty.

Booking nightmare at qrp surgery frustrates patient

QRP surgery has developed an incredibly challenging appointment booking process - juggling between the Dr IQ app and telephone scheduling feels like attempting an obstacle course of epic proportions! I understand the NHS is facing significant pressures... but this convoluted system could potentially discourage patients with minor concerns from seeking timely medical advice before their health issues escalate. (Once you actually connect with staff, the receptionists, nurses, and doctors are absolutely excellent)

Endless waiting and no appointment scheduling nightmare

I used Dr. IQ this morning and it recommended scheduling an in-person consultation. I called the practice and was second in line, which seemed promising. However, after waiting 30 minutes, I was informed that no appointment slots were available. They couldn't book me for tomorrow or any other day, with the only option being to call precisely at 8 am. What if I'm working at that time? Their suggestion is to use Dr. IQ again, which is incredibly unhelpful. Why can't the app directly book appointments? And why does calling require such a lengthy wait on the line? This system is absolutely maddening. I sincerely hope they improve their booking process, as it's currently the most inefficient and irritating method I've ever encountered.

Terrible gp practice with zero patient care

I've encountered an absolutely dreadful general practitioner practice that completely fails at basic communication. Their email correspondence is riddled with inaccuracies and misinformation. Booking an appointment seems impossible, even when attempting to call first thing in the morning. Choosing this GP during my pregnancy was a catastrophic mistake that I deeply regret. The staff appears utterly indifferent, giving the impression that patient support is of no concern to them.

Worst healthcare experience ever for pregnant patient

The service is utterly pointless. Despite rarely needing to use it due to having insurance, each interaction reinforces how dysfunctional the NHS has become. During a critical maternity follow-up, my doctor shared prescription details via KCH's MyChart app. I urgently needed to begin injections to prevent potential DVT, but they flatly rejected the prescription, claiming MyChart isn't an acceptable system. Adding insult to injury, they demand emergency appointments, yet these are only available before 8 am - rendering them useless for most genuine emergencies. Furthermore, even if I secure an appointment, they've informed my pharmacist that I must go to A&E to obtain my medication. As a 7-month pregnant mother with a toddler, this is absurd. I've already been bounced between emergency services and GP, and now they want me to further burden an overcrowded A&E simply to get a necessary prescription. Their complete disregard for patient welfare is shocking, and I will definitely be filing a formal complaint about their inexcusable lack of care and common sense.
