Doctors who saved my life

I hold the medical professionals at this practice in the highest regard, having witnessed their exceptional care and compassion over time. Several doctors have truly made a significant impact throughout the years. The entire NHS system appears on the brink of collapse, with doctors at this surgery frequently left to manage the fallout. Everyone is working incredibly hard but overwhelmingly burdened. The NHS requires substantial organizational improvements. While I've experienced systemic failings, a remarkable doctor and supportive receptionist at this surgery have been my saving grace. The modern technological systems pose challenges for older patients, and enhanced communication between medical facilities and patients might help bridge this gap. However, we must remain mindful that not everyone, particularly older individuals, will become computer-proficient. No one should be marginalized in this increasingly digital landscape. The receptionists, though occasionally seeming overwhelmed, are never intentionally unhelpful. They undoubtedly feel the strain but maintain remarkable politeness. The struggle of relaying messages, constant redirections, and busy phone lines is evident. Two staff members recently stood out: Rachel (who expertly directed me to the most appropriate doctor for my specific issue) and Amy (whose compassionate approach was potentially life-saving). Continuity of care is paramount. The goal should be to be the person who meaningfully improves a patient's healthcare experience. With targeted training and improved communication involving all stakeholders, including patients, this surgery could become a place I would wholeheartedly recommend. The staff are genuinely wonderful, and the doctors are consummate professionals.

I'm not satisfied with this facility. While the reception staff are pleasant and most of the medical team is competent, there's one physician whose behavior is deeply troubling. I'm seriously considering filing a formal complaint with the General Medical Council, and this doctor is the primary reason I'm giving such a low rating.

Friendly doctors, but rocky reception desk

I've been a patient at this medical practice for a while now, and the physicians are truly exceptional. They're fantastic, and I have absolutely zero criticisms about their care. The problem lies entirely with the front desk staff. Multiple times, the reception team has completely disregarded or contradicted the instructions given by my doctor. For instance, my doctor might say, "Contact me in a few days if these medications cause you any issues, and I'll help you find an alternative." But the reception staff's response is typically, "Your next available appointment is in 10 days, and I won't even bother relaying your message." Their attitude is incredibly frustrating and unhelpful. So while the doctors deserve a perfect 10/10 rating, the reception staff get a mere 5/10 for their uncooperative and dismissive behavior.

Impossible to reach this frustrating clinic

Getting in touch with this medical practice is an exercise in frustration. Phone calls go unanswered, and if you attempt to visit in person, they simply redirect you back to their unresponsive phone line. Securing an appointment seems impossible - even when they do pick up, scheduling becomes a nightmare. The only window to potentially book is a narrow 8 AM call time, which proves futile since they still won't answer. Nearly all the physicians, save one, come across as disinterested and condescending. The clinic's overall performance is riddled with errors, and I've yet to witness them successfully handle anything competently.

Terrible phone service for disabled patients

This medical facility is completely unacceptable. Their phone lines are perpetually blocked, and the receptionist deliberately keeps the phone off the hook. My disabled mother has attempted to contact them precisely 100 times without success. These doctors are absolutely terrible, and it's evident that the reception staff have zero concern for patient needs.

Terrible midwife care after five frustrating years

I've been a patient at this medical practice for more than five years, and I can't recall a single instance where they've been competent. Their midwives are completely incompetent; I've had two children under their care, and every single appointment was an absolute disaster. Now I'm struggling with a sick child who needs a referral to Tree Tops, and they can't even handle that correctly! I absolutely will not recommend this surgery to anyone. Moreover, whenever you try to call, you'll be forced to dial 10 to 20 times before anyone even picks up the phone - and that's if they bother to answer at all.

The medical staff are typically excellent, but their telephone infrastructure is utterly dysfunctional. I've spent three consecutive days attempting to secure a phone consultation, only to encounter constant busy signals, dropped calls, or total disconnections. Apparently, accessibility is limited to afternoon hours, and by then their triage list is already shuttered. It's baffling why they can't modernize their communication system to implement a proper queuing mechanism, sparing patients from squandering endless hours just trying to schedule a basic appointment.

Her approach was both caring and informative, helping to alleviate my anxiety and providing much-needed reassurance. Claire, the practice pharmacist, has been instrumental in managing my prescription requirements. She has meticulously explained potential medication side effects and proactively suggested alternative treatment options. Her extensive knowledge and genuine commitment to my well-being have been incredibly valuable.
