Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience at the practice, with significant variation in service quality across different areas. Medical staff, particularly certain doctors, receive consistent praise for compassionate care, professional expertise, and attentiveness to patient concerns. However, appointment access remains a persistent challenge, with patients reporting difficulty booking consultations, lengthy phone waiting times, and limited availability for same-day appointments. Reception experience is similarly inconsistent, with some patients describing warm and supportive interactions while others report discourteous or dismissive behaviour. Communication delays and organisational issues have been noted, including concerns about responsiveness to patient needs and follow-up commitments. The practice has implemented some positive changes such as online booking systems, electronic prescription transfers, and self-service check-in facilities, though accessibility of these services varies. Several patients highlight concerns about care quality variation between different practitioners, with some expressing confidence in specific doctors whilst others report unsatisfactory clinical experiences. Long waiting times for appointments and procedures have also been documented across multiple reviews.

Despite these challenges, many patients express strong satisfaction with continuity of care, particularly those with complex or ongoing health needs. The practice environment has been described as welcoming by some, though concerns about reduced reception accessibility have been raised. Patients consistently value the courtesy and professionalism demonstrated by certain team members and appreciate prompt specialist referrals when provided. The feedback suggests the practice would benefit from addressing systemic booking and communication barriers whilst maintaining the compassionate care approach that resonates positively with many patients.

Queensway medical centre provides exceptional healthcare

I rely on Queensway Medical Centre for my parents' healthcare, and being based in London, it's crucial that they receive top-notch medical attention. I can confidently affirm that they absolutely do. The quality of service from this practice is extraordinary, spanning from the welcoming reception staff to the specialized diabetic nurses and general practitioners. Dr Hilmi, who oversees our family's care, is an exceptional physician who demonstrates profound compassion, particularly towards my father. Whenever we need consultation, we receive prompt communication, and Dr Hilmi dedicates substantial time to discussing our specific health concerns. He meticulously listens to every single question and concern, never rushing us despite undoubtedly having a busy schedule. He comprehensively evaluates my father's medical conditions and efficiently coordinates referrals to specialist teams at Blackpool Victoria and Royal Preston hospitals when necessary. Doctors like Dr Hilmi and Dr Mustafa are incredibly rare. It's uncommon to feel genuinely heard and valued during medical consultations, but we absolutely do, to an exceptional degree. We are immensely appreciative of the comprehensive care my parents receive from our medical practice, and we cannot express enough gratitude for their unwavering commitment to my parents' health. Thank you so much, Queensway Medical Centre!

Exceptional care and compassion at queensway medical

My family has long relied on this medical practice, and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff's exceptional qualities. Their compassionate approach, efficiency, responsiveness during urgent situations, and genuine warmth are truly remarkable - a combination of traits that should not be taken for granted. Dr Hilmy, in particular, has been an extraordinary primary care physician for our father during a challenging medical journey. He demonstrates profound listening skills, offers deeply thoughtful consultations, and takes meticulously precise actions. We are immensely grateful to Dr Hilmy and the entire Queensway team, who represent the absolute pinnacle of medical professionalism and human decency.

Bad!

Terrible healthcare service that continues to decline

Over my 25-year experience, the practice has consistently deteriorated. At this point, I steer clear of it whenever possible, only reluctantly seeking care in absolute emergencies. Even then, securing a doctor's appointment seems impossible. The staff's attitude makes patients feel like an unwelcome burden, treating our medical needs as a mere inconvenience.

Amazing medical care for my special needs child

Over the past decade, this medical practice has been nothing short of exceptional. Throughout the challenging lockdown period, they went above and beyond to ensure my immunocompromised child continued to receive critical healthcare. Every single staff member I've interacted with demonstrates remarkable professionalism while maintaining a warm, approachable demeanor. They are incredibly accommodating - I can secure same-day appointments, sometimes even within just a few hours of making a call! I give them my absolute, wholehearted endorsement.

Queensway surgery calm like a peaceful ghost ship

Visited Queensway Surgery in the morning. Remarkably, only one other patient was present in the waiting room. Exceptionally quiet, with an incredibly peaceful and tranquil environment. Minimal staff presence, just the occasional person passing through and a relaxed receptionist seemingly unbothered by silent telephones. Evidently, the surgery has strategically disregarded government guidelines about returning to pre-lockdown operational practices, including mandatory in-person visits. Notably, the previously bustling morning waiting room was now virtually empty, and entry involved no personal interaction due to an automated booking station at the entrance. Quite pragmatic. Saw a student staff member who handled the procedure with professionalism and courtesy. Beyond this interaction, I noticed no other staff members or doctors circulating throughout the building or moving between rooms. Unlike the typical high-stress, overcrowded medical environments prevalent nationwide, Queensway appears to have established a remarkably serene atmosphere, reminiscent of an abandoned vessel. One might question the challenges of booking appointments through their rigid system and navigating the formidable receptionist gatekeepers. Nevertheless, Take Care

Terrible service drove me away from clinic

I'm eager to find a new medical provider. This facility's management is so disorganized that it creates an utterly exasperating and disheartening patient interaction. Despite being my longtime healthcare center for over two decades, my recent experience with their "treatment" has convinced me to seek care elsewhere, and I plan to do so as quickly as possible.

Worst medical practice ever, avoid at all costs

The surgical practice is an absolute nightmare. Their appointment scheduling is absurd - you're forced to call at 8am for same-day bookings, but they offer no flexibility for working individuals. An 11am slot is useless, and what's the purpose of being open until 6pm if they won't accommodate after-school hours? They once prescribed my daughter a medication that was completely unfamiliar, falsely stating it was recommended by the hospital - which was untrue. Fortunately, I always verify prescriptions, but many patients would blindly trust a doctor's recommendation. If you have any possibility of avoiding this medical practice, do so immediately. I genuinely believe you couldn't find a worse healthcare provider!

Bad!

Terrible medical care from unprofessional and dismissive staff

Terrible experience, particularly with one specific staff member who is consistently discourteous. I'm repeatedly assigned to her, and she appears completely unqualified, displaying zero professional medical competence. She seems indifferent to patients' concerns and dismisses issues without genuine consideration. When I presented a mole with multiple alarming characteristics - significant changes in size, color, and shape, plus persistent itching - she performed a shockingly unprofessional assessment. Her approach was to hastily search cancer images online, show them to me, and casually declare my mole didn't match those pictures, clearly attempting to rush me out. I was forced to insist on a second opinion. Additionally, her claim that there are no disks in the lower spine is utterly ridiculous and demonstrates her profound medical ignorance. The entire interaction was frustrating and potentially dangerous.

Queensway surgery mixed bag of medical care

Since relocating in May, we've switched from Lockwood surgery due to the manager's highly unprofessional comments to my wife regarding her foot concern, suggesting that since she'd consulted a specialist, they shouldn't assist. A subsequent £800 scan at Spire confirmed her foot issue. Lockwood was truly terrible, whereas Queensway has been significantly better, though not perfect. The reception staff are mostly exceptional, with one staff member being occasionally dismissive. Similarly, the doctors vary - some are genuinely committed to helping and investigating problems thoroughly. However, after her injury 12 weeks ago at the Vic, she's practically become disabled, using only one hand. The x-ray took ten weeks, and there's a persistent feeling that medical staff perform tests out of obligation rather than genuine concern. She hasn't slept properly since the injury, and we anticipate further months of waiting and struggling. While some doctors have shown sympathy, Dr Tunji is absolutely terrible. When my wife has two debilitating conditions, he's been incredibly unhelpful, repeatedly asking "what do you expect me to do?" and implying she's self-diagnosing, despite professional physiotherapy and chiropractic evidence. He even defended the nurse who injured her simply because of past workplace connections. Her hand injury prevents her from typing or doing light housework without extreme pain. If seeking medical help, request an alternative doctor to avoid unacceptable treatment. Dr Tunji's approach seems limited to prescribing painkillers, which is problematic given my wife's need to limit medication due to existing health issues. Overall, it's a 70/30 good/bad experience, characterized by extreme difficulty contacting doctors - sometimes requiring 110 redialing attempts and 30-60 minutes to connect. Appointments are scarce, and only three out of seven doctors are genuinely helpful. The remaining reception staff have been incredibly supportive during these 12 weeks of distress. Dr Greenwood and several female doctors have been particularly compassionate and proactive.

Great care for expectant mother with twins

After searching for the right medical practice, I settled on this GP surgery about 10 weeks ago, and I'm thoroughly impressed. During my initial search, I contacted several practices, but this one stood out due to their consistently welcoming and supportive staff. Whenever I've called, they've been nothing short of professional and kind. As a current expectant mother of twins, I've had multiple consultations with the GP, and each interaction has been exceptional. The doctors have been attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely concerned about my specific health requirements. I never feel dismissed or overlooked; instead, I always leave feeling heard and well-cared for. If you're in the market for a new general practitioner, I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.
