I recently joined this medical practice and have already contacted them three times, with each interaction featuring exceptionally courteous and supportive receptionists. This morning, I reached out about a health issue, and a nurse practitioner promptly returned my call to address my medical question. Subsequently, I was scheduled for an appointment that very same day. Upon arrival, the receptionist greeted me warmly, and I was seen by the nurse immediately without any waiting. This experience stands in stark contrast to my previous healthcare provider, who would only accommodate patients during emergencies. At this point, I'm thoroughly impressed with Queensway's approach to patient care.

Slow service improved after customer feedback call

The process was frustratingly sluggish. I submitted a medical document requiring signature and made multiple courtesy calls requesting expedited processing before my submission deadline. Throughout, I remained patient and clearly communicated my circumstances. Their standard turnaround window is 28 days, and with my own deadline at 27 days, they deliberately waited until the final possible moment to complete the paperwork, despite my repeated earlier requests. Additionally, the entire procedure was unnecessarily complicated by the requirement of comprehensive medical history documentation. I learned that a colleague had her physician handle this section directly, an alternative approach never suggested to me. Ultimately, while the staff maintained a polite demeanor, their actual efficiency left much to be desired. Update: Encouragingly, the physician responsible for my documentation reached out personally, discussing the situation and proposing potential remedies. His proactive response was reassuring and demonstrates a genuine commitment to addressing patient feedback.

Uncomfortable experience with unsympathetic medical staff

The front desk staff appeared pleasant, but after just one visit for a standard cervical screening, I was disappointed with the practitioner who performed the test. The procedure was notably uncomfortable, which was in stark contrast to my previous experiences at my former medical practice. As a result, I've ultimately chosen to transfer my registration to a different medical center located on the opposite side of Poulton-Le-Fylde, and they seem much more welcoming so far.

The appointment scheduling at Queensway Health Centre desperately needs improvement. Their sole communication method is via phone, which is consistently overwhelmed, with patients frequently experiencing hold times extending to a full hour. While the medical personnel are excellent, it is the administrative leadership that must address these systemic issues and restore the previously available online booking platform.

Friendly and modern medical practice for all ages

The doctors at this practice are excellent. The reception area is roomy and welcoming, with a convenient self-service check-in station right when you enter. They've modernized their prescription system, allowing electronic transfers to pharmacies and the myGP mobile app. Online appointment booking is also available. While the practice has a slightly traditional atmosphere, which might appeal to the many older residents in the neighborhood, it still offers contemporary conveniences. An additional benefit is the spacious parking lot located directly across the street.

Mixed feelings about queensway medical practice

Apart from the convenient same-day booking and the ability to schedule appointments further in advance with a preferred physician, the prescription ordering process can be challenging for those less tech-savvy without visiting the clinic. Additionally, walk-in blood testing clinics feel overwhelmingly hectic, with both staff and patients seeming stressed during my visits. My recommendation would be to review and improve these procedures. Perhaps conducting more blood tests during regular appointments and offering greater flexibility for telephone prescription refill requests could help. More attention should also be given to same-day appointment management. I would appreciate seeing the front reception area reopened, as the overall welcoming atmosphere of the surgery has noticeably diminished. I want to emphasize that these observations are purely from my personal perspective, and I hope they are received constructively. Having been a patient at Queensway since childhood, alongside my family, and now with my own children, I feel invested in the practice's continued improvement. The staff work incredibly hard, and I am deeply grateful for their support throughout the years. I particularly want to highlight Julie at reception, Dr. Gillian, and Treena as exceptional team members.

Physician staffing is inadequate. Previously, scheduling a same-day medical consultation was straightforward. Currently, securing any type of doctor's appointment has become incredibly challenging. Recently, I've been dealing with numerous challenges concerning my elderly in-laws, who are 94 and 97 years old. The medical professionals have been incredibly supportive and compassionate throughout this difficult time. Their level of care has been exceptional, allowing my in-laws to receive treatment in the comfort of their own home and avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions.
