Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas. Positive experiences centre on compassionate care, professional medical examination, and responsive communication, with several patients praising the thoroughness of consultations and the courtesy of reception and nursing staff. However, substantial concerns emerge around appointment access, with multiple patients reporting extended waiting periods ranging from weeks to months, difficulties securing direct bookings, and reliance on waiting lists with unclear timeframes. Communication challenges are evident, including unresponsive phone and email systems, and frustration with unavailable online consultation platforms.
Administrative and organisational issues feature prominently in negative feedback, particularly following recent practice mergers. Patients describe problems with continuity of care, lack of named GP allocation, disorganisation in handling prescriptions and test results, and difficulties reaching reception staff. Some patients report disrespectful treatment during consultations, while others highlight the contrast between prompt service when appointments are secured and the struggle to obtain them initially. A subset of reviews acknowledge systemic pressures affecting GP availability and patient volume, though this does not fully address concerns about booking processes and administrative efficiency.
When patients successfully access care, they frequently report satisfaction with clinical quality and staff professionalism. The inconsistency between booking experience and actual care delivery suggests that operational and administrative improvements could significantly enhance overall patient satisfaction.

I have tried many times to get help from this surgery for my physical and mental health. They are inept at best. Not to mention not being able to provide a named GP who can deal with my care to give continuity, despite it being a requirement that EVERY patient have a named GP. The surgery are a joke. From reception teams, admin requests, GPs and managers. Refusal to take things seriously or act fast has only worsened my health. Frankly this surgery needs a complete overhaul from the managers and partners down. Till those who care are the ones providing the care the place will remain the shambles it is.

Grateful for care during gallstone journey
I want to express my gratitude to the exceptional medical team at Redlands who have supported me throughout my recent health journey. My gallstones diagnosis might seem straightforward, but the gastric attacks are incredibly intense and painful. During one particularly severe episode, I even developed a urinary tract infection due to my reduced food and fluid intake. The staff's professional assistance with various medical tests and procedures has significantly reduced my anxiety during this challenging time. I'm currently awaiting my upcoming gallbladder removal surgery. BG.

Quick and helpful midday appointment
On Thursday, July 3rd, I was dealing with an infection and inquired at the reception about seeing a healthcare professional. After returning home, an appointment was scheduled for noon. I arrived at the designated time and was seen by a wonderful nurse practitioner, Tracey (if I recall correctly), who effectively addressed my medical concern. Much appreciation for her help.

Waited months, sample lost in frustration
I've been enduring a frustrating 3.5-month wait to address my persistent kidney discomfort and recurring urinary tract infections. The situation reached its breaking point on Monday, June 23rd, after experiencing yet another UTI. I submitted a urine sample that day, only to be informed the following Tuesday that it had mysteriously "disappeared." Seriously, Redlands... get your administrative processes in order! 😡😡 As a result of this unacceptable experience, I've made the decision to transfer my medical care to a different practice.

Quick and smooth morning blood test
Incredibly smooth and quick blood test experience today. Arrived 20 minutes early for my 11:40 slot, and they called me in right away. The entire process was completed swiftly, and I was out of the medical center by 11:25. Impressively, my test results were available by 5:45 PM. Much appreciation to the Redlands team.

Compassionate doctor helped me feel better
I recently consulted with Doctor Jones (Sam) following a prior telephone consultation prompted by some irregularities in my blood work. She is an exceptionally compassionate physician who truly listened to my concerns and provided thoughtful recommendations and support. After my visit to Redlands today, I left feeling significantly more optimistic and assured that my health matters are being professionally addressed. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jones for her outstanding care and understanding.

Caring team made my medical visit better
I want to express my gratitude to the Redlands Team for their outstanding level of service. Dr. Jo Harris demonstrated exceptional thoroughness, attentively listened to my concerns, and went above and beyond to assist me. Becki, the nurse administrator, is arguably the most positive and delightful professional one could encounter. Ali, the nurse, is both incredibly approachable and competent. Ella, the paramedic, displayed remarkable expertise and maintained the highest standards of professionalism. Having dedicated over three decades to working within the NHS, I am acutely aware of the immense pressures the healthcare system faces, which can undoubtedly make consistently meeting patient expectations challenging. I would like to seize this moment to sincerely thank each of you for your dedication and tireless efforts - your work does not go unnoticed and is truly appreciated!

Worst customer service I've ever experienced
The sheer ineptitude demonstrated by numerous employees here is mind-blowing. Utterly appalling. If the rating system allowed it, I'd assign zero stars without hesitation. I'd estimate this establishment accounts for approximately 60% of the mental strain I've experienced recently.

Rude doctor dismissed my medical needs
I recently visited this medical practice after being directed by a Crediton pharmacy to seek an emergency repeat prescription. I'm currently struggling to register with a local GP due to my upcoming relocation in two months. A doctor named Sam Jones emerged while I was explaining my situation to the receptionist and immediately declared that temporary registration was my only option, with potential delays in obtaining my medical records and no immediate prescription. When I calmly explained my imminent travel and limited medication supply, Dr. Jones began publicly criticizing me, repeatedly emphasizing my poor planning and suggesting they were unwilling to assist. Despite presenting comprehensive documentation from my GP, neurologist, and neurosurgeon confirming my medication requirements, Dr. Jones dismissively questioned my frequent moves and the relevance of my medical letters. As someone suffering from cervical myelopathy and degenerative disc disease, I found this treatment utterly unacceptable. The interaction was so demeaning that I would not return to this practice even if offered significant compensation. The encounter not only left me without critical medication but also made me feel completely invalidated. Dr. Jones demonstrated zero compassion and appears fundamentally unsuited to patient care. Perhaps experiencing similar medical challenges might eventually help him understand the difficulties faced by patients like myself. I am completely shocked and devastated by this unexpected, humiliating experience. I left feeling utterly defeated, emotional, and embarrassed. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PRACTICE!! 😡

Quick and caring pediatric visit
I submitted a virtual consultation for my young daughter, and she received medical attention within 24 hours. The examination was comprehensive, and Dr. Sam's bedside manner was exceptional - to quote my child, he's the 'absolute best doctor' and deserving of a perfect rating 🌟

Frustrating online form that went nowhere
I filled out a digital form seeking straightforward test outcomes and provided my email contact. Subsequently, I received an automated message asking me to submit my email address to receive the test results, which left me utterly bewildered. In the end, I was compelled to physically visit the location and retrieve the results myself.

Friendly doctor with cool wall art
Despite a bit of a wait for my appointment, which wasn't pressing, I can only sing the doctor's praises for the exceptional care and guidance provided. The medical practice itself is consistently spotless and well-maintained, and the staff are courteous and friendly. As a nice touch, I particularly appreciate the rotating wall art that keeps the environment visually interesting.

AverageManagement poor; medical care good
Getting to see a doctor can be a difficult and protracted process but once there, the care is what one expects. Who the doctors are is a mystery as no names are displayed and they are behind key-padded doors. The organisation leaves a lot to be desired. Before the merger of two practices (2020?), we had an excellent one and a less satisfactory one. Following the merger, the organisation has followed the poorer practice and now it is less personal, can take a long time to get an appointment, you can be put on an open-ended waiting list, paperwork can take weeks to be dealt with. Getting in touch is well nigh impossible unless you turn up in person, when there is an inevitable queue. Phoning for an appointment can take literally hours; if sent a text you cannot respond; if 'triaged' (not a satisfactory process), you can be left waiting ages for a call. The apparent reliance on digital processes is bewildering and leaves one feeling sidelined. There are people (including friends in the medical profession) who are less than satisfied with this practice and given the choice, would go elsewhere. Over many years, I have been a patient at several practices and this is by far the worst managed. Friends in other parts of the country have a much better experience, so why can't more (including this one) be better than they are? Are they unable to learn from others' good practice? I regret I have little confidence that should I need them for something serious, they could be relied on.
