Reception staff could show more compassion during difficult times

The practice would benefit from having additional reception staff who demonstrate greater compassion and empathy. While many team members are pleasant, I found my recent interaction with one member of staff to be particularly unhelpful and lacking in understanding. When dealing with serious health matters, a more supportive approach would be appreciated. I was advised by my GP to arrange an in-person appointment due to my current health situation. Given my existing commitments, waiting for a callback would be impractical. With services operating normally, alternative arrangements could be made. After being a patient for many years, I feel let down by the standard of care and support I have received.

Felt welcomed and properly listened to here

We relocated to this area through military service. At my previous posting, I had experienced a serious motor vehicle accident. Following assessments at medical centres and hospitals in my former location, I was advised that my concerns were not warranted and was simply recommended over-the-counter pain relief. Upon arriving in this area, I registered with my current surgery immediately. From my first visit, I felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for. The clinical team has been excellent throughout my care. I was thoroughly assessed and subsequently referred for imaging investigations, specialist scans, physiotherapy, and targeted injections. I am now awaiting surgical procedures as a result of my accident. I can only express my gratitude for being listened to when previous healthcare providers had not engaged with my concerns. Without this surgery's support, I would likely still be experiencing significant discomfort without understanding the underlying issues. When people relocate, they typically miss their social connections, but in my case, I will genuinely miss the healthcare professionals and administrative staff here. Thank you sincerely.
