Feedback on this practice reveals a stark divide between clinical and reception services. Medical professionals, including doctors and nursing staff, consistently receive praise for compassionate care, responsiveness, and thorough communication. Patients report positive experiences with appointment availability when contacting clinical staff directly, efficient prescription handling, and genuine engagement with their health concerns. However, reception experience presents significant challenges that substantially undermine the clinical strengths. Multiple patients describe reception staff as discourteous, dismissive, and lacking basic courtesy when handling appointment requests and patient inquiries. Common concerns include difficulty accessing appointments, poor communication skills at the reception desk, and an unhelpful attitude toward straightforward requests. Some patients report long waiting times and feeling disrespected during interactions with front-line staff.
This disparity creates a frustrating experience where patients value the medical care but struggle with the booking and administrative interface. Several reviews note that reception barriers have prompted consideration of transferring to alternative practices, despite satisfaction with clinical outcomes. The practice appears to operate with inconsistent service standards depending on which department patients interact with, suggesting that reception training and customer service improvements could significantly enhance overall patient satisfaction without requiring changes to the clinical provision.

Excellent!
Compassionate nurse emily made my depo experience awesome
I had an incredible interaction with a nurse, Emily I believe, during my first depo injection. She was incredibly detailed in discussing the potential benefits and drawbacks, and her level of care was truly exceptional. Her approach made it clear that she's genuinely passionate about her work, not just fulfilling a job requirement. The service was top-notch, and I couldn't have hoped for a more professional and compassionate healthcare experience.

Excellent gp surgery with friendly and supportive doctors
I've been receiving care at this medical practice since 2014 and have consistently had a positive experience. When I contact them in the morning, I quickly receive a return call from a physician, followed by either an appointment or a prescription sent directly to my preferred pharmacy. The doctors are compassionate and helpful. I wholeheartedly endorse this practice.

Friendly receptionists make doctor visits less stressful
Ever since they replaced the previous receptionist, my experience with calling the doctor's office has completely transformed. Now, the staff is incredibly welcoming and compassionate, which means everything when you're an anxious parent dealing with an unwell child. I no longer dread making these calls like I used to.

Compassionate care from riverside medical team
Over recent months, the entire team at Riverside, including administrative staff and doctors, have provided exceptional assistance to me and my loved ones. Whenever I've reached out to consult with a physician, I've consistently received a prompt return call and, when necessary, a same-day appointment. My sincere appreciation goes out to everyone involved.

Terrible customer service and endless waiting nightmare
I've been attempting to reach them continuously for five solid hours since this morning, and they're completely unresponsive. What kind of operation are they even running?

Exceptional care from doctor hamid for tendinitis
I visited the clinic on Tuesday, August 30th, and received exceptional care. Dr. Hamid provided a comprehensive explanation of Achilles tendinitis and offered valuable guidance on managing the condition. I was particularly pleased to find that they have a physiotherapist on staff. The service was outstanding, and I felt well-informed and supported during my visit to the surgery.

Mixed feelings about this medical practice
The medical professionals here deserve high praise for their attentive and compassionate approach to patient care. Sadly, the front desk staff could significantly benefit from comprehensive customer service and interpersonal communication training. Initially, I was puzzled by previous complaints about the receptionist's demeanor. However, after being deregistered due to moving outside their service area and subsequently returning, I've experienced ongoing frustrations. My attempts to re-register have been met with repeated obstacles, and my repeat prescription requests consistently go unacknowledged. This forces me to personally visit the practice to collect my medications, risking potential interruption to my essential treatment. What's most disappointing is the complete absence of any acknowledgment or apology. Instead, the staff seem to adopt an incredibly dismissive attitude, as if my need for medication is somehow an inconvenience to them. I am absolutely stunned and disheartened by this unprofessional conduct.

Terrible surgery with rude staff and poor service
I'm only awarding 1 star because there's no option for zero, which is what this place truly deserves. This medical practice used to be excellent, in my opinion, approximately 40+ years ago. However, over time, all the competent GPs and staff have departed, leaving behind employees who are utterly incompetent. The receptionists are shockingly discourteous beyond belief. I attempted to contact the surgery about my child's repeat prescription, which I've been waiting on for over two weeks. After navigating the automated system and waiting nearly an hour, the receptionist answered by asking if this was an emergency. Why would I call my GP's office during an actual emergency? I would undoubtedly dial 999 instead. As I tried explaining my situation - such as my child's urgent psoriasis/eczema condition and having run out of medication - she continuously interrupted and ultimately hung up on me. Her behavior was unprofessional and infantilizing, treating me like a misbehaving child rather than a concerned parent. I haven't visited this surgery for medical consultations in ages, and based on this experience, I'm terrified to imagine how I'd be treated if I required actual medical attention. Without question, this is the most abysmal medical practice in the HP11/12 area. Potential patients should steer clear at all costs!

Dangerous receptionist nearly cost me my life
Absolutely unacceptable! The front desk staff are incredibly unprofessional. Behaving as if they have medical expertise. She brazenly claimed my symptoms weren't serious enough to warrant a physician's consultation. When I insisted that only a doctor should make such a determination, she abruptly terminated the call and has since ignored my subsequent attempts to communicate for two full hours. Upon arriving at the emergency department, I was informed that any further delay in receiving medical care could have been life-threatening. She essentially put my life in jeopardy

Terrible experience with cold and unwelcoming staff
I was initially quite positive about this surgical procedure, but my experience quickly soured. I was forced to wait in my car during the rain instead of the indoor waiting area, which was particularly challenging since I was already there because my sick two-year-old needed medical attention. My toddler, naturally active and unable to sit still, was apparently "disrupting" an elderly patient who didn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge my apologetic gesture when I tried to manage the situation. The staff should have been more understanding about the nature of young children. I'm truly disheartened by the entire experience.

Endless waiting and covid chaos in healthcare system
The ongoing pandemic-related closures are absurdly unjustified. The harsh reality is that these measures are creating immense strain on hospital systems. During my recent emergency room visit at Slough Wrexham, I endured a grueling 12-hour wait before seeing a physician. The triage nurse candidly shared her profound exasperation with the current state of general practitioner services and the apparent lack of meaningful action. To the partner GPs at Riverside Surgery, I issue this challenge: Come and witness the pandemonium firsthand by visiting nearby A&E departments like Stoke Mandeville, Slough Wrexham, and others, and see the overwhelming dysfunction for yourselves.

Terrible service and disrespectful medical staff
The front desk staff displayed an appalling lack of professionalism, demonstrating zero empathy when I attempted to file a complaint. When I requested her name, she flatly refused to provide her details, which was absolutely unacceptable. Incredibly shocking! Moreover, despite my critical uterine condition, they callously terminated my gynecological referral citing financial constraints????? This healthcare system is utterly disgraceful and completely disregards patient welfare. If I could assign a rating lower than zero stars, I absolutely would.

Poor!
Frustrating and unwelcoming medical facility experience
This establishment refuses to simply open their entrance for patients, forcing you to use an intercom and hope the irritable front desk personnel might reluctantly allow you entry by barely cracking the door open. It's hands-down the most uninviting facility I've encountered in recent memory. The standard of care appears inconsistent, contingent on which specific medical professional you encounter. While certain doctors and nurses are truly outstanding, they're unfortunately undermined by the subpar performance of their colleagues. The telephone consultation and triage processes function impressively. One can only wish that an actual in-person visit wasn't such a challenging prospect.

Worst reception service ever from rude mrs jones
I wish I could award negative stars for this abysmal service. My interaction with the Riverside Surgery reception manager, "Mrs Jones," was absolutely disastrous in terms of phone communication. I was attempting to secure a prescription for my medically vulnerable son who relies on ongoing medication, and she flatly refused to verify whether the prescription existed or when it would be sent to the pharmacy - a routine task that normally takes mere moments for other staff. Instead, Mrs Jones, despite being the reception manager, argued with me and ultimately terminated the call. UNBELIEVABLE. My husband was so skeptical of my account that he called himself, only to discover I had described the situation precisely - she treated him identically and hung up on him as well. MY CHRONICALLY ILL CHILD DESPERATELY NEEDS HIS ESSENTIAL MEDICATIONS, MRS JONES!!! I am absolutely preparing a formal complaint. This is simply beyond comprehension.

Exceptional healthcare with caring and responsive staff
Caring and competent front desk staff, warm and courteous. Thoughtful and engaged doctors, both permanent and visiting, who listen carefully. Every patient concern is promptly acknowledged and handled, even amid current health challenges. An exceptional medical facility.

Terrible medical experience with dr zoe rogers
Dr. Zoe Rogers displayed an incredibly dismissive and condescending attitude, completely failing to provide any meaningful assistance when my seriously unwell father sought medical care. The front desk staff were equally problematic, displaying combative and deeply offensive behavior during our interactions.
