Patient Experience Summary

Feedback on this practice reveals a stark divide between clinical and reception services. Medical professionals, including doctors and nursing staff, consistently receive praise for compassionate care, responsiveness, and thorough communication. Patients report positive experiences with appointment availability when contacting clinical staff directly, efficient prescription handling, and genuine engagement with their health concerns. However, reception experience presents significant challenges that substantially undermine the clinical strengths. Multiple patients describe reception staff as discourteous, dismissive, and lacking basic courtesy when handling appointment requests and patient inquiries. Common concerns include difficulty accessing appointments, poor communication skills at the reception desk, and an unhelpful attitude toward straightforward requests. Some patients report long waiting times and feeling disrespected during interactions with front-line staff.

This disparity creates a frustrating experience where patients value the medical care but struggle with the booking and administrative interface. Several reviews note that reception barriers have prompted consideration of transferring to alternative practices, despite satisfaction with clinical outcomes. The practice appears to operate with inconsistent service standards depending on which department patients interact with, suggesting that reception training and customer service improvements could significantly enhance overall patient satisfaction without requiring changes to the clinical provision.

Friendly doctors, unfriendly receptionists ruin the experience

The medical professionals at Riverside are truly exceptional, and their quality care has consistently impressed me, making me hesitant to consider changing providers. Sadly, the front desk staff completely undermine this positive experience, turning every interaction into an anxiety-inducing ordeal. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I find myself needing extensive mental preparation just to communicate with the receptionists. It seems the job qualifications for a medical receptionist must include being maximally hostile, discourteous, and lacking in empathy. I implore Riverside to carefully review the behavior of their reception team and invest in comprehensive staff training to improve their interpersonal skills.

Excellent doctor with caring and efficient approach

I recently became a patient at this medical practice and Dr. Foley has been exceptional. She was thorough in explaining my treatment plan and was quick to provide follow-up communication. I'm truly satisfied with my choice to register with this clinic.

Riverside receptionists turn healthcare into a nightmare

I've always been sympathetic to medical receptionists and hadn't encountered problems before, but my perspective has shifted dramatically. During the past half-year, the reception team at Riverside has provided consistently subpar service. Their approach appears intentionally unhelpful and antagonistic, even when addressing straightforward requests, and their demeanor is markedly discourteous. The workplace environment at Riverside seems to foster an unacceptable attitude, and they urgently need to examine how their front-line staff are mistreating patients.

Bad!

Worst medical reception experience ever

The front desk personnel are astonishingly inconsiderate and discourteous. I am deeply dismayed by the abysmal level of professionalism displayed by the reception team, who demonstrate a complete lack of empathy. The reception staff seem to think they have the authority to decide who is worthy of consulting a physician. When we desperately required medical attention, they dismissively advised us to contact NHS 111 instead of connecting us with a doctor at the practice.

Poor!

Caring doctors overshadowed by unhelpful front desk staff

The doctors are wonderful, but the reception staff could use some improvement in their communication skills. They seem eager to rush through calls without truly hearing or comprehending patients' concerns. Their approach made me feel like an inconvenience, which was quite disappointing. Not impressed at all with their customer service.

Great medical care with compassionate professionals

I transitioned to this medical practice around 8 years back, having been loyal to my previous healthcare providers for over two decades. I harbored initial reservations about switching to this expansive town-based clinic, which my former general practitioner had suggested. Those concerns were entirely unfounded. I'm consistently perplexed when I encounter critical feedback about this practice. Throughout my experience, I've exclusively received thoughtful, compassionate, and forward-thinking care. I genuinely believe they perform exceptionally well, particularly when navigating challenging professional situations and occasionally managing interactions with discourteous or aggressive individuals. My advice: maintain a courteous approach, and you'll find it serves you effectively.

Endless waiting and zero respect for patients

Waiting over three-quarters of an hour beyond my scheduled time and I'm still sitting here unattended. The service is absolutely unacceptable! In any other professional setting, this kind of delay would never be tolerated, so why do they believe it's okay to treat customers with such disrespect...

Frustrating wait times for basic healthcare service

Scheduling an appointment here is incredibly challenging. Back in June 2018, I was informed that no slots were open in the foreseeable future. When I reached out again this past June, in 2019, they indicated a two-month waiting period. It's deeply concerning that I can't secure a consultation even for my annual check-up, which is critical for maintaining my health.

Endless wait turns doctor's visit into pure frustration

I've been sitting here for over 40 minutes beyond my scheduled time, and they still haven't called me in. Thankfully, I was smart enough to pay for an hour of parking, or I'd definitely be looking at a ticket right now. They might as well turn this into a walk-in clinic with a first-come, first-served approach, because the waiting time is absolutely absurd. If I were to show up this late for my own appointment, they'd undoubtedly cancel it and make me reschedule. The whole situation is completely unacceptable.

Terrible service and frustrating appointment scheduling

Residents of High Wycombe registered with this medical practice, beware if you fall ill or experience pain... Securing an appointment is an absolute nightmare, and when you finally get one, it's strictly on their terms with no flexibility. Can't make a 3pm slot because you're picking up your children? Tough luck... During my last visit, I was scheduled for a 12:20 appointment, only to discover they had silently changed it to 12:30 without informing me. I then endured a waiting time of over an hour, only to be seen for a mere 90 seconds! I came in with ear pain, and now, 10 days later, the discomfort has dramatically intensified, and I can detect a lymph node swelling behind my ear... Best of fortune to all patients like myself who must navigate this incredibly frustrating healthcare experience!!!

Terrible customer service at medical practice

The front desk staff display an incredibly dismissive and condescending attitude, completely lacking any semblance of compassion for patients. Scheduling an appointment becomes an arduous challenge, as they appear to arbitrarily control access to medical consultations. Their demeanor is devoid of empathy or basic courtesy, giving the impression that they are merely punching a timecard with zero interest in actually assisting people. It is deeply disheartening to encounter such unprofessional and callous individuals in a role that fundamentally demands understanding and support.
