It's the end of June and I requested an appointment, only to be given a slot on the 22nd of July - completely unacceptable. After contributing to the system for more than half a century, I'm being brushed aside like this. It's ironic how individuals who haven't paid into the system can get immediate attention. I'm sure everyone understands exactly which group I'm referring to.

Terrible healthcare service that almost destroyed my health

Without any warning or consultation, they removed me from my antidepressant prescription. I had to initiate contact, and they informed me just a day before my refill was due that I'd need to see a GP monthly to continue. This is impossible with my full-time job. There was zero indication of medication misuse, and I was simply seeking my regular prescription. They openly admitted age discrimination and were prepared to force me into an abrupt medication stoppage, which I experienced for several days before finding an alternative provider. I've been attempting to reach them for days about another matter, tried scheduling multiple appointments, and received no response. Their online appointment link leads to a broken 404 page. The receptionists are unhelpful and dismissive. While the GPs themselves are pleasant and competent, actually accessing their services is nearly impossible - you've got a better chance of convincing a lion to become a vegetarian. My advice: seek healthcare anywhere else.

Unprofessional manager creates hostile medical environment

The reception manager's conduct was utterly unacceptable. She made exaggerated facial expressions behind her staff's backs, which I found ironically amusing for someone in a professional role. After I raised concerns about medication errors, she appeared once the problem was being addressed, only to criticize my actions. Her body language was telling - clenched fists and visible trembling with rage. She is clearly unsuitable for her position and desperately needs to address her significant anger management problems. It's no surprise the medical practice has such a dreadful reputation.

Compassionate care from a fantastic medical team

The booking process with reception was exceptional and personalized. Dr. Kevin Uzoma stepped in to see me when another doctor was occupied, which minimized my waiting time. He demonstrated professionalism, listened attentively, and displayed a compassionate demeanor. His expertise was evident as he promptly referred me to the hospital. I'm truly grateful for the outstanding service. I also want to express my appreciation to the nurse who was incredibly efficient, showed genuine empathy, and facilitated my communication with the GP. The administrative staff member who assisted me was equally kind and supportive. What an incredible team! As a patient, I had a remarkably positive experience and am sincerely thankful.

Well, look at this situation again... the receptionist with the distinct accent clearly lacks any understanding of proper customer service. Doesn't she realize that every individual who approaches her might be experiencing some form of personal vulnerability? Her complete absence of empathy when interacting with patients is truly shocking. The entire service standard at this medical practice desperately requires a comprehensive review. I cannot comprehend her attitude - if she finds her job so disagreeable, she should simply resign. There's an absolute expectation of compassionate communication, and speaking over people with an aggressive tone is completely unacceptable and absolutely not within her professional responsibilities. Rest assured, this matter will be escalated to the appropriate parties, including the physicians working at this facility.

Worst medical service ever avoid at all costs

If I could rate this lower than zero, I would. I've lost track of the number of times I've submitted my prescription, only to find myself a week later desperately trying to track it down, with the staff claiming they have no record of it. This means I have to resubmit, leaving me to suffer in pain. Getting through to them on the phone is impossible, and on the rare occasion you do connect with someone, they're dismissive and completely indifferent to your situation. I've had enough of this mockery of a medical practice and have already filed an application to switch to a new surgery.

Exceptional care and compassion at sandy lane surgery

Over the past decade, my family and I have been patients at Sandy Lane Surgery since relocating to Rugeley, and I'm thrilled to award them 5 stars today. Recently, we've had several medical appointments, and the experience has been absolutely flawless. The telephone waiting times have dramatically improved, with call handlers demonstrating exceptional professionalism, politeness, and helpfulness. My son has been seeing doctors frequently due to his eczema, and the entire team has been incredibly supportive, with special mentions to Jackie, Carl Pockett, Dr Bukky Oso, and Taiyla. During one particularly challenging visit, my son needed blood tests, which are typically difficult due to his skin condition. Taiyla was phenomenal, employing various techniques and showing extraordinary dedication to ensure the blood draw was successful, potentially saving us a hospital trip. Regarding my personal healthcare, I've consistently had my contraceptive implant managed by Dr Bukky Oso without any complications. Today's implant replacement was seamless, with Dr Oso even playing relaxing music that significantly enhanced my comfort. I was completely at ease throughout the procedure. The entire staff's commitment and hard work cannot be overstated. They consistently go above and beyond, delivering outstanding care. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every single team member at Sandy Lane Surgery.

Terrible service and unhelpful medical staff nightmare

If I could award the lowest possible rating, I would. Reaching the front desk staff is practically unattainable, and even when you manage to connect, getting actual medical assistance is even more challenging. With only a few rare exceptions, most receptionists display a brusque and discourteous demeanor, and they're notably economical with providing accurate information. I'm immensely grateful that I've transitioned to Aelfgar MP, who represent everything this medical practice is not. You ought to be deeply embarrassed and learn from their superior approach.
