Reception staff dismissive and unwilling to help

If it were possible to give a negative rating, I would do so without hesitation. I have attended this practice throughout my life. As another patient has previously noted, this surgery operates in a manner that is deeply disappointing. During a recent telephone call, the receptionist displayed an unhelpful demeanor, speaking in a curt manner and appearing indifferent to my concerns. She seemed unwilling to properly understand what I was attempting to communicate. I simply wished to obtain some guidance from a clinical team member, yet was informed that no appointments or consultations were available at that time. I found this response confusing, as I was merely seeking advice rather than a full appointment. Beyond the dismissive tone, the only suggestion offered was repeatedly to visit an alternative healthcare facility. Given that I am currently unwell and unable to leave my home, this recommendation was entirely impractical and unhelpful. Whilst the practice benefits from modern facilities, the overall standard of patient care falls significantly short. The manner in which telephone calls are handled by reception staff—characterized by discourtesy, curtness, and an apparent lack of genuine concern for patients—is wholly unacceptable.
