Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas of the practice. Reception experience emerges as a key differentiator, with some patients praising courteous and welcoming staff, while others report unprofessional conduct, including curt responses and dismissive attitudes during phone interactions. Appointment availability presents a complex picture: many patients successfully access same-day or timely slots, yet others describe persistent difficulties booking appointments, long waiting times on phone lines, and appointment cancellations without notice.

Clinical care quality similarly divides opinion. Numerous patients commend compassionate practitioners who listen carefully and provide thorough care, with particular appreciation for responsive communication and continuity of care. However, other patients report rushed consultations, dismissive attitudes toward their concerns, and limited time to discuss multiple health issues. Communication between staff and patients emerges as an area requiring attention, with some describing seamless coordination while others note unprocessed prescription requests and missing documents.

When access barriers are overcome, many patients express satisfaction with the medical professionals' expertise and the welcoming environment. However, the inconsistency in reception experience, appointment accessibility, and consultation quality suggests systemic challenges that affect patient confidence in the service.

Poor!

Rude receptionists ruined my medical care

It's incredible how frequently I've attempted to schedule an appointment at this medical facility. Upon calling, you're met with a hostile receptionist who hurls offensive remarks as though you're somehow to blame for reaching out. I believed the core purpose of a medical center was to provide assistance when healthcare is needed - yet I'm perpetually unable to secure an appointment. They've even discontinued my medication in the past due to my inability to see a doctor. How can I possibly do so when confronted with such an unwelcoming reception and told to call back or schedule an appointment at their convenience? The service is utterly unacceptable, and I'm seriously considering changing providers if this situation isn't resolved soon. What's particularly frustrating is that I've been a patient at this practice since birth, spanning 50 years!

Poor!

Rude receptionist ruined my call

I contacted Selden Surgery at 16:30 (during a relatively quiet time) and was left on hold for over 10 minutes according to my phone's timer. When finally answered, I was greeted with an audible sigh and a curt "How can I help?" As I began explaining my call's purpose—providing feedback on treatment recommended by my GP—I was abruptly cut off mid-sentence with another heavy sigh and a demanding "YOUR NAME?!" I politely provided my name, but feeling frustrated by the receptionist's unprofessional conduct, I requested her name for a formal complaint, which I carefully noted. When I finally managed to briefly explain my call's reason, I was told that she could only write or assume the veracity of my statement, essentially implying I was being dishonest. I am utterly appalled by the telephone etiquette and staff attitude at Selden Surgery. If employees have personal biases, they should absolutely not bring them into professional interactions. Having experience working with the public myself, I am deeply shocked by the manner in which I was treated. I will unquestionably be changing medical practices.
