One star due to concerns about the clinical approach of a particular clinician. The clinician appeared uncertain about their decisions, contradicting themselves and consulting with colleagues during the appointment. A request for medication to manage respiratory symptoms affecting sleep was declined, which was disappointing. Due to these concerns, we transferred our family's care to another practice with stronger feedback. We had been registered at the previous practice for many years. Upon first appointment at the new practice, a respiratory condition was diagnosed promptly and appropriate medication was prescribed along with repeat prescriptions for inhalers. There appear to be several positive reviews for the clinician in question, which contrasts with the negative experience we had. The overall experience raised concerns about the quality of care provided.

I would advise against using this practice. The standard of care has noticeably declined over time. When I contacted the surgery regarding a respiratory illness, I was asked to attend in person despite the condition being manageable through remote consultation, which was inconvenient given my symptoms. Upon arrival, I found the experience unsatisfactory. During my appointment, the clinician appeared disengaged and uncertain about how to proceed. The consultation lacked direction, with me being asked what I thought the issue was rather than receiving a professional assessment. After stepping out of the room briefly without explanation, the clinician returned and proposed a treatment plan that seemed disconnected from the preceding discussion. I subsequently questioned the appropriateness of this recommendation, as my condition did not warrant the suggested intervention. The practice appears to have lost experienced staff while bringing in less experienced practitioners. This shift raises concerns about the quality of care being provided. I would hesitate to return, as I do not feel confident in the level of clinical competence available. Additionally, during my consultation, another staff member interrupted to ask a colleague a question that could have been addressed elsewhere. This lack of professionalism detracted from the appointment experience. The practice should prioritise recruiting clinicians with strong medical knowledge and clinical judgment rather than focusing on other operational priorities. The overall standard has deteriorated significantly, and I would encourage the practice to reconsider its staffing and service delivery approach. If in-person consultations cannot be delivered with adequate clinical competence and professionalism, patients may reasonably seek alternatives.
