Feedback across this file reveals a predominantly negative patient experience marked by systemic service failures. Appointment availability remains a critical issue, with patients reporting extended waiting times, difficulty booking through both phone and online systems, and frequent redirects to emergency care for routine matters. Reception experience emerges as a consistent concern, with multiple accounts of discourteous staff, unresponsive phone lines, and poor communication. Patients describe feeling dismissed and undervalued during interactions with front desk personnel.
While some patients acknowledged compassionate care from individual medical professionals and nursing staff, this positive feedback was substantially outweighed by complaints regarding rushed consultations, lack of care coordination between departments, and disorganised systems. Several patients reported challenges with the e-consult platform, which created circular booking processes rather than facilitating access. Communication breakdowns were evident in accounts of missed callbacks, conflicting medical advice, and inadequate follow-up on test results.
A minority of reviews highlighted efficient processes and professional medical staff, including specific appreciation for individual practitioners. However, the broader pattern suggests the practice struggles with operational efficiency, staff training in customer service, and systematic coordination of patient care across multiple locations.

BadDr R. is out of touch, dangerous and, incompetent d
Dr R. has consistently failed to provide me with the necessary medical advice and care over the years. He also demonstrates a very strong sense of grandiosity and self importance that is not only rude but completely disrespectful and not deserving due to his old outdated attitude and knowledge of medicine. He thinks that his knowledge of medicine that he has from over 30-40 years ago is still relevant. His incompetence has made me visit A&E in severe pain when he could have diagnosed the correct medication to help me before the infection took hold. Another time he did a phone consultation with me that was an emergency automated appointment due to blood results and he said he would need to check me in person to make a decision. I said it will delay my treatment and there is clearly a problem with my blood and he said yes there are many problems but I need to check you but I’m not working again until next week so book a new econsult appointment. I ended up seeing a bite the next day who urgently referred me on the cancer pathway. Dr R. should not be allowed to be an on duty doctor anymore as he is not bothered about the patient but more interested in clocking off for the day so he can then leave another doctor to pick up the pieces as he won’t be working for another 5 days

AverageOperating as a help desk style healthcare provider
If it wasn’t for the NHS app and my ability to see my results and the hospital documents that specialists submit on Docman, I would still not be getting the urgent care I need. I have worked out what the failings are at SMC and it’s a combination or a poor IT system and a lack of continuity of care. The patient GP records are on one platform and then the hospital and specialist records are on docman when the merger you back to the GP with follow up actions. The doctors are like health technicians who respond to tickets raised by a patient and deal with the single issue that has been raised. They have no idea about the patient medical history and only proof read the patient record when you sit in front of them. Nobody takes ownership of a patients care and provides the patient with a coherent plan for their health based on their previous records. There I are a couple of doctors that do this to a basic competency level but they still don’t proactively review records and often miss key important information from the specialist to repeat tests in the future timeframe that they specified. I now proactively manage my own health and have to micromanage my care with the doctors. They constantly miss important information that is on docman and if I didn’t highlight it it would never be dealt with. I feel sorry for the elderly patients who can’t do this as they will ultimately suffer and probably die from negligence and administrative oversight due to the lack of a proper system to flag new docman records on a patient’s file.

Terrible service and dangerous medical negligence
This establishment deserves to be closed down, with even local pharmacists cautioning their customers about its operations, which speaks volumes. If you submit a repeat prescription, ensure it's done 3 weeks prior to medication depletion, as that's the processing time to reach your pharmacist, and even then they'll likely bungle it somehow. Regarding the medical staff, they display complete indifference and dismissiveness. Despite suffering from chronic DVT and heart strain, I endured a 3-week wait for a new fit note. When I requested one, the practitioner merely glanced at my file, claimed nothing was wrong, questioned my inability to work, rejected a new referral, and contradicted the hematologist's assessment. She even attempted to cancel my lifelong blood thinner prescription, then criticized me for exceeding the ten-minute consultation limit - which she herself had prolonged by extensively questioning me about a fit note. My initial complaint was disregarded by the surgery, but after escalating to PALs, I discovered she wasn't even a qualified doctor, but a physician's associate - who legally cannot issue fit notes. Why was I even scheduled with her? This was undoubtedly the worst GP practice I've encountered, and I'm relieved to have switched. "Update as of September 2025" It has emerged they deliberately concealed certain medical information in my file, failing to inform me about blood test results during my tenure. Some of this information was even incorrect and required correction at my current surgery - a fact I only uncovered upon requesting my local medical records. This place desperately needs comprehensive reform.

Terrible service at sidcup medical practice nightmare
I've been utterly disheartened by the Thanet road, Bexley surgery since it became part of Sidcup Medical practice. Their so-called 'service' is deplorable, with a complete absence of compassion and support even before patients can consult a physician. My aged father would find it impossible to navigate their appointment system. While I deeply respect the NHS and its healthcare professionals, the administrative inefficiencies are unacceptable and urgently require intervention.

Worst medical practice ever, avoid at all costs
I am utterly appalled by this medical practice's shocking level of incompetence and disregard for patient care. Where do I even begin? After experiencing the devastating loss of my baby at 28 weeks, the administrative chaos was unbelievable. It took four weeks just to arrange a post-natal appointment, with staff seemingly unable to comprehend my simple request. When I finally saw a doctor, they callously asked why I hadn't brought my deceased child. Additionally, my elderly father has suffered tremendously under their negligent care. Patient records have been mixed up, nurses were denied to treat his open wounds, and critical test updates were consistently overlooked. His condition has deteriorated to such an extent that medical intervention now seems futile. Had they taken his initial symptoms seriously, his health might have been salvageable. My strongest recommendation is to avoid this practice at all costs and register with literally any alternative. The sole redeeming moment in their entire history is a compassionate house call by Dr. Kwan on Christmas Day in 1990 when I was three and battling meningitis - a stark contrast to their current abysmal standard of care.

Terrible service at sidcup medical centre
After relocating to Sidcup, I registered with Sidcup Medical Centre, and I'm thoroughly disappointed. For a fortnight, I've been attempting to contact them by phone, but each time I'm met with silence and automated messages saying my call cannot be handled. This is critical, as it concerns my child's prescription. Their unresponsiveness has forced me to seek healthcare services elsewhere!

Disappointing decline in medical care quality
I've been seeing this doctor for a quarter-century, and while they used to provide quality care, that's no longer the case. During my annual asthma consultation, they bizarrely took my blood pressure over my sweater! They completely skipped the peak flow test, despite my knowing my readings have declined. The entire appointment was a quick, perfunctory interaction where they simply wished me a Happy New Year and ushered me out in under five minutes - utterly pointless. They didn't even review my medication. Today's yearly health check was equally disappointing. Once again, it felt like a mere box-ticking exercise with no genuine medical attention. The consultation seemed superficial, and my medication was never properly examined. I'm left feeling frustrated and neglected by a practice that seems to have lost its commitment to thorough patient care.

Terrible doctors who should not be practicing medicine
Absolutely terrible healthcare provider. Their medical competence seems non-existent, and they appear completely incompetent. Not only are they unprofessional, but they also demonstrate a total lack of respect for patients, creating an unpleasant and frustrating experience for everyone who seeks their care.

Worst medical practice ever terrible service
This medical practice deserves to be shut down entirely. A more competent and compassionate healthcare provider should immediately replace them. Not only is it completely futile to reach anyone via telephone, but the so-called 'physicians' display an appalling attitude of rudeness, indifference, and utter incompetence. Their lack of professional care is staggering. They consistently run behind schedule, and when they are late, they arbitrarily cut short your already brief appointment slot. You're left with mere moments to describe your health concerns, only to be hastily dismissed without receiving any meaningful medical guidance or support.

Worst nurse experience ever terrible healthcare service
The nurse was incredibly disrespectful, causing me to break down in tears. She suggested I should become a doctor myself and seemed completely uninterested in assisting me. I was abandoned in the hallway for nearly a quarter of an hour, desperately waiting to consult with a physician who might actually provide some help.

Worst customer service ever avoid at all costs
This establishment is absolutely absurd! The employees are discourteous, incompetent, and terribly supervised! How can it be tolerable to wait 3 hours past your designated time slot with zero empathy from the reception? There's a complete lack of basic human respect as they idle on their phones and disregard patients, and when they eventually deign to interact, it's with a patronizing attitude. Seriously, steer clear of this place and hopefully they'll either shut down or completely replace their staff.

Terrible healthcare with zero patient consideration
This medical facility is utterly disappointing. Getting in touch with the doctors is practically impossible, as they force patients to submit an online e-consultation, which only works if you: a) have ample time to navigate their extensive questionnaire, b) possess decent computer skills, and c) are willing to accept whatever appointment slot they arbitrarily assign, regardless of your schedule. Their availability is extremely limited, with virtually no appointments after 4:30 PM, and the staff's attitude is far from welcoming or courteous.

Disappointing product that fails to meet expectations
This product falls far short of expectations. Its performance is subpar, and it fails to deliver even the most basic functionality. I'm thoroughly disappointed with the quality and feel that it represents poor value for money. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for a more reliable solution.

Unacceptable delay in processing death notification
I am dealing with the Bupa Care Home located on Hatherley Road in Sidcup. Last Tuesday, a physician from their facility confirmed my wife's passing. Subsequently, on Friday, an employee named Louise contacted me to express regret for the delay in submitting the required documentation to the Registrar's office, assuring me it would be processed that day. However, no action has been taken. I consider this conduct deeply inconsiderate, both toward my late wife and our grieving family. We are unable to move forward with funeral arrangements due to the organization's apparent lack of urgency and apparent administrative negligence.

Amazing service at new doctors surgery
I recently switched to a new medical practice, and the contrast is remarkable. When I called, someone picked up within five minutes, efficiently scheduled appointments, and took the time to listen without rushing me through the conversation. After being trapped at my previous surgery for two and a half years, I strongly advise anyone who has recently relocated to explore alternative options, even if this clinic is geographically closest. The frustration simply isn't worth it, and you'll be doing yourself a favor by seeking out a more responsive healthcare provider.
