Patient Experience Summary

Feedback across this file reveals a predominantly negative patient experience marked by systemic service failures. Appointment availability remains a critical issue, with patients reporting extended waiting times, difficulty booking through both phone and online systems, and frequent redirects to emergency care for routine matters. Reception experience emerges as a consistent concern, with multiple accounts of discourteous staff, unresponsive phone lines, and poor communication. Patients describe feeling dismissed and undervalued during interactions with front desk personnel.

While some patients acknowledged compassionate care from individual medical professionals and nursing staff, this positive feedback was substantially outweighed by complaints regarding rushed consultations, lack of care coordination between departments, and disorganised systems. Several patients reported challenges with the e-consult platform, which created circular booking processes rather than facilitating access. Communication breakdowns were evident in accounts of missed callbacks, conflicting medical advice, and inadequate follow-up on test results.

A minority of reviews highlighted efficient processes and professional medical staff, including specific appreciation for individual practitioners. However, the broader pattern suggests the practice struggles with operational efficiency, staff training in customer service, and systematic coordination of patient care across multiple locations.

Poor!

Frustrating healthcare maze with no clear direction

Referral processes are completely disjointed, with no communication between departments. Staff seem constrained by rigid bureaucratic boundaries, where each unit operates in isolation. When I needed a cardiac referral, I discovered the booking office is located in a distant location like Shrewsbury, seemingly disconnected from the practical realities of patient access. The employees themselves aren't at fault; rather, the systemic fragmentation prevents smooth, patient-centered care. Each department appears focused solely on their specific task, with no understanding of the broader patient journey or the challenges of accessing medical services.

Worst customer service ever avoid at all costs

I'd rate this zero if I could. The front desk staff are discourteous, incompetent, and incredibly unprofessional. It's clear they lack any semblance of customer service training. My advice: STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS. After examining other customer feedback, it's evident that this surgery center hasn't bothered to acknowledge or address their abysmal reputation, showing complete indifference to their patients' experiences.

Worst medical practice ever dangerous patient care

If I could rate this practice lower than zero, I absolutely would. The service is utterly abysmal. Anyone contemplating registering with this surgery should steer clear and find an alternative immediately. Every single appointment, repeat prescription, and attempt to contact the surgery has been a complete nightmare. The situation was dire before Covid, but with their 'total triage' approach, securing an appointment with a doctor has become virtually impossible. Take a look at their website - 27 administrative staff (some potentially part-time), yet you can't get through, nobody is remotely helpful, and every request is met with resistance and excuses. Dr Deshmukh has merely sent a text response to my husband - who has a critical, life-threatening condition - stating he has sufficient medication on his repeat prescription. What he completely fails to recognize is the potential for dosage changes, and during his upcoming hospital appointment, he'll likely run out of medication, facing delays in obtaining a repeat prescription and collecting from the pharmacy - potentially leaving him without crucial medication for days. Should anything happen to him during this period, I would absolutely pursue medical negligence charges against Dr Deshmukh. With nearly 20 years of experience managing this medical condition, I am utterly disgusted that the surgery (seemingly as a cost-cutting measure) refuses to provide my husband with a comprehensive range of warfarin dosages, seemingly preferring to risk his life rather than adopt a patient-centered approach and actually communicate with him. Simply glancing at a document showing 11mg and providing just enough medication to cover hospital appointment days is unacceptable - especially if dosage changes occur, potentially leaving him without sufficient tablets, unable to adjust dosages correctly, and forced to pay for additional prescriptions. After 20 years of prescription expenses, they now want to make managing a long-term illness even more financially burdensome. I am absolutely appalled by a doctor and practice that consistently prioritize financial considerations over patient care. The staff should be thoroughly ashamed of the so-called 'service' they provide within the NHS. WE WILL DEFINITIVELY BE LEAVING THIS PRACTICE - WE CANNOT WAIT TO ESCAPE THIS UTTERLY UNCARING AND UNPROFESSIONAL MEDICAL SUPPORT.

Terrible service led to suffering of my child

I initiated an e-consult for my daughter's chicken pox. Despite uploading photos twice, I received 4 repetitive phone calls from the reception team asking questions already addressed in my initial submission. After a frustrating two-day wait, I was informed that the on-duty doctor had declined an appointment, instead suggesting I consult online resources or visit the pharmacy or A&E (potentially risking virus transmission to others!). When I spoke with the complaints manager, I encountered what was arguably the most unprofessional interaction of my life. She seemed eager to provide unqualified medical advice, confirmed no appointment would be granted, and ultimately terminated the call abruptly. My daughter's condition has now deteriorated, with a persistent high fever and developing skin infection. Although I had thoroughly researched online information, I still required professional medical guidance. Had an appointment been provided, my daughter's suffering could have been mitigated. A receptionist further dismayed me by indicating that even if an appointment were offered, the waiting period would extend to several weeks due to staff shortages. This experience is absolutely unacceptable. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Care Quality Commission, as this treatment appears to constitute clear clinical negligence.

Terrible clinic fails sick child and desperate parent

I took my sick 5-year-old to a medical center for her painful ear infection, traveling quite far by taxi due to her condition. Upon arrival at 6 PM, we discovered another distressed parent who revealed no medical staff were actually present, despite having been given a seemingly legitimate appointment. This was incredibly frustrating, especially after paying for transportation. The reception staff showed zero empathy, simply instructing us to go to urgent care without any apology. To make matters worse, the doctor called back at 8:45 PM while I was putting my daughter to bed, causing me to miss the call. The entire experience was utterly unacceptable and demonstrated a complete lack of professional care and consideration for patients. The service was shockingly poor and deeply disappointing.

Terrible service and impossible to book an appointment

I share the frustration of previous reviewers. It's impossible to reach the surgery by phone. An automated message claims they're experiencing high call volumes and directs patients to use e-consult, then abruptly disconnects the call. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This seems like a deliberate strategy to dodge addressing a serious issue. I require an appointment, but the e-consult process is extremely time-consuming and cumbersome. What is the practice management team thinking? Do they believe ignoring patient calls will make people simply give up and seek care elsewhere, like emergency departments or urgent treatment centers for issues that should be handled in primary care? From what I've gathered, this problematic voicemail system has been in place for at least three months, and the situation is only deteriorating. The local Clinical Commissioning Group should not permit such unacceptable patient communication practices.

Terrible service leading to healthcare system breakdown

Ever since the merger, the medical practice has completely deteriorated. Scheduling a doctor's appointment has become impossible, and their standard response is to redirect patients to the emergency room or urgent care, even for straightforward issues like a child's ear infection and tonsillitis. My 4-year-old has experienced tonsillitis four times in just three months, yet they persistently refuse to see him and continue to push us towards urgent care facilities. It's an utterly pointless medical practice. As a result, emergency rooms and urgent care centers are becoming overwhelmed with minor medical conditions, which is absolutely unacceptable.

Terrible service and rude staff at doctor's office

I had the absolute worst experience at this medical practice. My appointment was delayed by 40 minutes, and the receptionist, Lillie-May, was incredibly unprofessional. She was argumentative and rude, even in front of my 12-year-old daughter, despite knowing I was in significant pain. When I explained I couldn't wait, she callously told me to reschedule for the next day. They claimed we were next in line, but another patient was seen instead, and she kept making excuses about running late. I'm normally a patient person, but her attitude was completely unacceptable. She seemed to care only about herself and showed no concern for patients. The entire practice is frustrating - they rush you out while simultaneously making you wait excessively, and without even offering an apology. I would give this place zero stars if I could. It's an absolute joke and should be shut down. They desperately need additional staff training. My strongest advice: avoid this surgery at all costs.
