Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals a stark contrast between clinical and administrative service experiences. Medical professionals, particularly several GPs, receive consistent praise for clinical expertise, attentiveness, and compassionate care. However, the practice faces significant challenges with appointment access and reception responsiveness. Patients report persistent difficulties reaching the practice by phone, with extended wait times, frequent unanswered calls, and limited availability communicated as fully booked. The booking experience is characterised as unpredictable and frustrating, with reception staff described as discourteous and unhelpful. Communication gaps extend to appointment management, with cancellations and scheduling errors noted. While some recent feedback suggests improvements in phone systems and booking processes, appointment availability remains a widespread concern affecting patient confidence in accessing timely care.

Despite administrative shortcomings, positive feedback acknowledges the practice's medical quality and occasional instances of smooth booking experiences. Several patients report successful same-day or prompt appointment scheduling and commend the welcoming environment and professional nursing support. The disparity suggests that clinical care standards are not reflected in operational efficiency, particularly in reception and telephone services. Patients express frustration that capable medical professionals are undermined by administrative barriers that prevent access to their services.

Waited 30 mins just to get ignored

This GP practice falls far below even the lowest rating. Their phone system is excruciatingly slow, with receptionists who are unhelpful and discourteous. I attempted to book an appointment for an entire week, and they consistently claimed to be completely booked for the following fortnight. When I urgently sought an emergency slot, they were equally unresponsive and dismissive. During one particularly frustrating call, I was first in the queue, yet still waited 30 minutes. Eventually, I visited the clinic in person, which finally prompted them to answer the phone while I was present. It appears they're simply collecting a substantial salary while doing minimal work. Truly, this is a disgracefully ineffective medical practice, especially considering they claim to handle NHS referrals while demonstrating such complete disregard for patient care.

Frustrating morning with endless phone delays

You call precisely at their opening time of 8 AM, yet they don't pick up until 8:45, only to inform you that all appointment slots are already filled. When you attempt to schedule again the following day, you encounter the exact same frustrating scenario.

Rude receptionists ruin great doctors' care

As someone who has been a patient with these doctors since birth, I can confidently say that Dr. Sheikh and Dr. Asma are truly outstanding professionals. However, I'm deeply disappointed by the receptionists, who are INCREDIBLY DISCOURTEOUS. When attempting to schedule an appointment, there's either no availability or you're directed to a locum doctor who barely glances at your medical history and lacks any comprehensive understanding of your personal health background. I've personally witnessed and heard receptionists prioritizing appointments for their close friends and relatives with the main doctors, while other patients are relegated to locum physicians. Moreover, their lack of professionalism is evident when discussing patient matters within earshot of other waiting room patients, potentially compromising confidentiality. It's astonishing that something as simple as offering a friendly greeting or a welcoming smile seems beyond their capabilities, and it costs absolutely nothing to demonstrate basic courtesy.

Caring gp's made early call worth it

I think the concerns raised about early morning appointment reminders are likely common across healthcare providers. While the timing can be annoying, the actual medical care is top-notch. The doctors are genuinely committed to patient well-being and provide excellent treatment. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with this medical practice.

Dr. Sheikh listened and truly helped me

I noticed numerous critical comments focusing on the reception staff and telephone service, so I want to share my perspective on the medical professionals themselves! The general practitioners here are truly top-notch. I've consistently received outstanding care from both Dr. Asmal and Dr. Sheikh, with whom I typically consult. Dr. Sheikh, in particular, is exceptional - he genuinely listens, demonstrates authentic compassion, and responds appropriately to my concerns. Throughout my interactions, I've always felt respected and heard, with my medical issues being handled with the utmost professionalism and kindness. I have zero intention of seeking healthcare elsewhere, as this practice meets and exceeds my expectations for medical treatment. My heartfelt appreciation goes out to the doctors!

Rude staff ruined my doctor's visit

The doctor is excellent and supportive, but the entire staff is incredibly discourteous and unprofessional. They consistently ignore phone calls and consistently make prescription errors, dispensing incorrect medication dosages. It seems they lack proper training and spend their time engaging in inappropriate behavior like eating parathas under the table instead of focusing on their work.

Rude staff and unanswered phone calls

I am extremely frustrated and let down by Thai surgery. Having been a patient here since childhood, I consistently feel demoralized. Firstly, their phone response is unacceptable, with calls going unanswered for 2-3 hours, which I find completely unprofessional and offensive. Additionally, the receptionist treated me with remarkable disrespect during my last visit, displaying an unwarranted attitude of superiority that is absolutely intolerable. I have little more to add except that this practice has always, currently does, and I believe will continue to provide me with nothing but ongoing disappointment 🥺

Receptionists killed my patience at this clinic

The medical professionals here are competent, but the front desk staff are incredibly frustrating. Expect to spend a minimum of 60 minutes waiting on hold when trying to call. When the phone finally rings, it often goes unanswered. I'm not exaggerating - you could literally walk in and see the receptionists socializing instead of addressing calls. Their customer service is absolutely subpar.

Endless wait in customer service queue

Stuck in queue for 45 minutes now, at the first position... Truly sympathetic for those languishing at position 10. Oh, but they keep assuring us how "crucial" our call is, so just hang tight and maybe you'll connect by lunchtime... if you're lucky. And let's discuss previous interactions... the reception team could definitely benefit from communication skills training. During my in-person visits, I've observed them chatting among themselves, completely ignoring ringing phones while discussing meal plans. Such impressive professionalism, right?

Impossible to get an appointment

The customer service is utterly unacceptable, showing complete indifference to patient needs and providing zero assistance. It's nearly impossible to make contact when necessary, and on the rare occasions you do connect, you're simply informed that no appointments are available and are repeatedly instructed to call back the following day. One has to wonder about the point of their operations. The situation is infuriating and continues to deteriorate.

Rude receptionists ruin a good doctor's practice

Utterly terrible customer service. Whenever you ring up, the front desk staff are both rude and unhelpful, with zero availability for appointments. Their standard response is always "Call back tomorrow at 8am" which is incredibly frustrating. I am completely outraged and disappointed. While the doctors themselves are excellent, the receptionists are a massive letdown that seriously undermine the medical practice's reputation.

Helpful call but reception needs improvement

Oct/Nov 2020: Generally satisfactory service compared to earlier encounters. Recommendation: When scheduling phone consultations, providing patients with a specific time window for the doctor's call would be beneficial. This approach would help those with work constraints that limit mobile phone usage during business hours. Stars: 3 4 months earlier: Deeply unsatisfied with certain reception staff members. Stars: 1

Frustrating morning wait at the clinic

Every single time I try to schedule a consultation, I'm forced to endure a wait exceeding 60 minutes before anyone responds. When they finally do pick up, there are no available slots for appointments. And this is happening at 9 in the morning! The level of service is absolutely unacceptable. I am seriously considering finding a new general practitioner.
