Terrible medical care for vulnerable elderly patients

I've now had my elderly, disabled grandmother's appointment cancelled twice, only to receive a call directing her to travel to Cobridge for her medical consultation. My nan can barely manage to reach the local surgery, let alone make a journey to Cobridge. She's not someone who exploits the healthcare system - she hasn't even needed a doctor's visit in two years. In fact, I'm considering registering her as an alcoholic just to ensure she gets prompt attention! They consistently botch her prescription orders, engaging in a blame game with the chemists who then bounce the responsibility right back. At one particularly critical moment, when she was experiencing severe breathing difficulties, they callously informed her they couldn't schedule an appointment for two months and essentially told her not to go to the emergency room. Only when my mother threatened to escalate the matter did they suddenly find her an appointment for the very next day.

Friendly doctors trapped by terrible front desk staff

The medical staff are excellent, but the front desk personnel display a lack of professionalism and courtesy, seemingly only accommodating to elderly patients. They consistently obstruct attempts by returning students to get registered and demonstrate a marked reluctance to provide basic assistance.

The medical team here is incredibly compassionate, and I've been their patient for more than four decades. While their parking lot is somewhat restricted, there are convenient street parking options and additional spaces near the nearby businesses that require a brief walk.

Frustrating healthcare with no appointments available

Consistently substandard service. Immense difficulty securing appointments, with wait times frequently exceeding two weeks. Despite registering with Ryecroft, I'm constantly forced to incur taxi expenses to visit Silverdale due to zero availability at my local practice. During one instance, I arrived 6 minutes late after unsuccessfully attempting to contact the surgery 5 times (being disconnected each attempt), and despite being within my original 15-minute slot, I was denied treatment. Adding insult to injury, the doctor I was scheduled to see had no patients present at the time. Throughout the past few years, I've battled significant health challenges. After four years of repeatedly expressing concerns to medical professionals who dismissed my symptoms, I ultimately resorted to paying privately to diagnose my condition and subsequently underwent corrective surgery. I have now terminated my registration with this practice and sincerely hope my new medical provider will deliver a substantially improved standard of care. The treatment I've experienced over recent years has been utterly unacceptable.
