Patient Experience Summary

Feedback on this practice reveals a deeply polarised patient experience, with significant operational challenges coexisting alongside pockets of genuine clinical excellence. The most consistent concern centres on appointment access, with patients reporting persistent difficulties reaching the practice by phone, lengthy waiting times for consultations, and frustration with booking systems that frequently show no availability. Reception experience emerges as a critical issue, with multiple reports of discourteous staff, poor communication, and dismissive attitudes towards patients seeking care. Continuity of care presents another recurring problem, with patients noting frequent physician changes and administrative inefficiencies affecting follow-up care and prescription management.

In contrast, medical professionals themselves receive substantial praise for their compassionate approach, attentiveness, and clinical competence. Patients consistently highlight positive experiences with doctors and nursing staff who demonstrate genuine care and take time to listen. The digital consultation platform has been noted as efficient by some users, with prompt responses to online submissions. However, the stark disconnect between reception-level service and clinical care quality suggests systemic administrative challenges rather than clinical shortcomings.

Recent improvements in appointment scheduling and communication responsiveness have been noted by some patients, indicating that service enhancements may be underway. Nevertheless, the volume and consistency of feedback regarding access barriers, reception courtesy, and administrative organisation indicates these remain significant areas requiring sustained attention to improve overall patient confidence in the service.

Bad!

Frustrating and impossible medical scheduling nightmare

Getting a medical appointment here is incredibly challenging for anyone younger than 65. I started dialing the moment their phone lines opened, and after a frustrating 15-minute wait, I finally connected with a representative who informed me that all slots for the day were already booked. This isn't an isolated incident—it's a recurring problem that I've experienced multiple times, and I've heard similar complaints from other patients.

Poor!

Terrible service and endless waiting nightmare

A complete farce from start to finish. Waited in line for what felt like an eternity, nearly an hour, before ultimately abandoning the attempt. This was supposed to be for my aging mother-in-law, but the whole experience was utterly frustrating.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs

If I could give less than 1 star I would. 1. The receptionist staff's demeanor is absolutely appalling! Every interaction I've had with them makes me feel like an unwelcome burden they're desperate to avoid. Their complete lack of customer service and interpersonal skills is astounding. 2. I informed the receptionist I was stepping out to use my e-cig during a 45-minute wait, which they said was acceptable. Upon returning, 20 minutes past my appointment time, I was told I'd forfeited my slot for leaving the building. The receptionist then falsely claimed she'd warned me about this and became aggressively defensive and unprofessional. 3. Their appointment system is nonsensical. Instead of advance booking, it's a chaotic daily morning scramble for extremely limited slots. Weekend and evening appointments are non-existent, unlike other local medical practices. 4. After making a complaint via phone (another interaction marked by terrible attitude), I discovered the reception staff were gossiping about me, with a friend asking what I'd done to upset them. Such remarkable professionalism! 5. Additionally, I received an unexplained call from their number with no voicemail. Upon calling back, they claimed no knowledge of the call, then admitted to calling but were uncertain why, suggesting they'd contact me if it was significant. This doesn't even address their lost test results, apparent lack of procedural understanding, and overall disorganization. As someone who rarely visits doctors, I'm dismayed this has been my experience. The few times I've seen a GP or nurse, they were wonderful. The receptionists must understand people approach them during vulnerable moments. Navigating the chaos they've created has been utterly miserable. This is my first-ever negative review, and I am completely shocked by the service I've received!

Friendly staff and caring doctor made my day

After quite some time, I scheduled an appointment, and the receptionist was incredibly courteous and accommodating. The physician I consulted was truly attentive to my medical issue and refreshingly refrained from lecturing me about my smoking, which was a pleasant surprise.

Excellent!

Compassionate healthcare despite challenging nhs circumstances

The medical professionals at this practice provide exceptional care. Whether it's managing referrals, following up with specialists, or addressing routine health concerns, the doctors and nurses are consistently compassionate and highly competent. While scheduling appointments can occasionally be challenging, this is clearly a result of broader systemic funding constraints rather than any shortcoming of the practice itself. The staff are doing an admirable job within the limitations they face, demonstrating remarkable dedication despite governmental healthcare budget reductions.

Excellent!

Compassionate care that truly listens and understands

Medical consultations have always been anxiety-inducing for me, as I've frequently encountered healthcare professionals dismissing my seemingly trivial health worries, likely due to my youth and apparent good health. While I recognize the immense time constraints and pressures doctors face, this practice has been completely different. Every physician I've encountered here has provided a compassionate and attentive approach, making me feel genuinely heard and valued. I distinctly recall being particularly moved by Dr. Bruce's follow-up phone call after my initial consultation. She reached out, sensing there might be additional topics we hadn't fully explored during our appointment. Although there wasn't anything further to discuss, her proactive and considerate gesture deeply impressed me.

Excellent!

Compassionate care during my painful emergency visit

I was attended to promptly upon a doctor's arrival, given my intense discomfort following an accident. Initially uncertain about the specifics of my injury, the physician thoughtfully left the consultation open, allowing me time to gather my thoughts. When I subsequently reached out, I was immediately seen by another medical professional who swiftly arranged an X-ray. Her attentive approach ensured that my entire hospital experience was remarkably efficient and stress-free.

Shocking healthcare policy destroys patient's medical continuity

Relocated just three miles away and immediately got removed from their patient roster! Seemingly, the reason is my newfound distance from the practice. It's not as if the doctors would need to make house calls! There's absolutely no continuity of treatment for my ongoing chronic illness, which means I'll have to begin the entire process again with a different general practitioner. Utterly ridiculous.
