Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience across this medical practice, with notable contrasts between service areas. Reception staff receive consistent praise for courtesy, warmth, and efficiency in booking and check-in processes, with many patients highlighting welcoming atmospheres and accessible facilities including convenient parking. Clinical care from nursing teams and certain physicians is frequently commended for professionalism and attentiveness.
However, significant concerns emerge around appointment availability and communication responsiveness. Multiple patients report extended waits for callbacks, with some waiting weeks beyond promised timeframes, and difficulty reaching the practice by phone. Several reviews describe dismissive or disrespectful interactions with reception and clinical staff, alongside complaints about inadequate follow-up care and poor communication regarding test results.
Patients also raise concerns about access to in-person consultations, with some noting a reliance on brief phone appointments. While some patients experience efficient online consultation services and prompt prescribing, others describe feeling unheard or deprioritised, particularly those with complex or ongoing health concerns. The practice environment itself is generally well-maintained with good facilities, yet operational challenges around responsiveness and continuity of care appear to be creating frustration among a significant portion of the patient population.

Terrible Care and Rude Staff at Clinic
STAY AWAY!!! Absolutely unprofessional - the front desk staff claimed she reviewed my lab work and insisted I didn't require a physician consultation, completely disregarding that my original medical issue remained unresolved. After enduring five exhausting days of attempting to schedule an appointment, a condescending and dismissive doctor finally contacted me, at which point I was utterly defeated!!!! These are hostile, self-important individuals with zero skills in patient communication and care.

Terrible care from Dr. Brendan's practice
Absolute disaster. You're struggling immensely and they show zero empathy. Dr Brendan or whoever is meant to be my GP and I've only encountered her once, completely breaking down over my dire health situation, and she responded like an emotionless machine. These aren't genuine people who care; they're all burnt out, disinterested, and eager to dismiss you. Their solution is to prescribe medication as a quick way to make you disappear, which does nothing except inflict terrible side effects. If you express distress or concern about your health, they immediately shuffle you off to the "mental health team" who condescendingly speak to you like a toddler. They extract substantial amounts of your hard-earned money under the guise of "NHS funding", yet the only investment I observe is in making their offices more luxurious and comfortable, allowing them to continue failing at their fundamental responsibilities.

Pharmacist Saved Me After Doctor's Dismissal
Until now, I've been satisfied with this service, but today was a turning point. After waiting a decade-long 10 days for a callback, the doctor finally rings. However, they showed zero interest in addressing my persistent mouth sores and swollen neck, refusing to provide an appointment or recommend any treatment. Frustrated, I took time off work to visit the Boots pharmacy, where they actually cared enough to examine me. The pharmacist diagnosed me with tonsillitis and thoroughly checked my oral condition. My advice: if you're experiencing any health concerns, head straight to a pharmacist who will genuinely help you.

Mum's Health Ignored Until Too Late
I'm writing this review on my mother's behalf because she's currently hospitalized and unable to speak for herself. For months, my mum has persistently reported feeling unwell, even visiting the reception to request a medical consultation. Her repeated attempts to get help have been ignored, resulting in a devastating health decline that has completely transformed her life. The untreated illness has severely impacted her, and given her pre-existing fragile health condition, she should never have been left without medical attention. She's barely hanging on, fighting for her life in the hospital these past two days. This is nothing short of medical negligence! Since the transition to "St.Austell healthcare", patient care has dramatically deteriorated. The current system is fundamentally broken. Urgent changes are needed to restore patients' ability to see their regular doctor, as was standard in the past.

Dismissive Receptionists Ruined My Prescription Day
Despite my inclination to award a single star due to my frustrations, I can't bring myself to do so because the medical professionals here are commendable. The issue is entirely with the reception and administrative personnel. Today, I visited to address the fact that the neighboring pharmacy has misplaced my prescription for the fifth time. The receptionist was incredibly dismissive, bordering on condescending. This isn't an isolated incident with this particular practice. Their attitude suggests an unwarranted sense of superiority, looking down on the public while earning barely above minimum wage - it's utterly ridiculous. They need to recognize their role as basic administrative staff, not some elite professionals. I strongly suggest the practice invest in customer service training for their administrative team and teach them to address complaints proactively instead of treating them as mere nuisances. Update: In response to the practice's statement below, absolutely - I will be returning to lodge a formal complaint and bringing professional customer service trainers with me. This approach might well need nationwide implementation, given the notorious reputation of doctor's receptionists for their abysmal treatment of patients.

Weeks of Waiting Made My Anxiety Worse
Absolute worst medical practice I've encountered. They consistently fail to meet basic patient care standards. I've been waiting over two weeks just to consult with a physician, which is particularly problematic for someone struggling with anxiety and mental health challenges. Their communication is abysmal - requests go unaddressed, promised phone calls never materialize. While I recognize they might be understaffed and potentially trying their hardest, the current level of service is completely unacceptable. I'm genuinely frustrated and disappointed by their total lack of responsiveness.

Quick and Easy Check-in with Dr. Moore
I never experience long wait times since I opt for self check-in. The nursing staff is excellent, and my physician, Dr. Moore, demonstrates remarkable compassion and thoroughness. He consistently takes the time to carefully examine my concerns and goes the extra mile to address any medical challenges I'm facing.

Compassionate Care After My Rare Stroke
Following my diagnosis of a Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST), an uncommon type of stroke, in January 2023, I've been consistently impressed by the care I've received. From the initial triage at Treliske hospital to my continued medical consultations at the local practice, every healthcare professional has demonstrated exceptional kindness, expertise, and genuine compassion. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mckay and the entire medical team. Moreover, I want to express my immense appreciation to the National Health Service for their outstanding support 🙂

Treliske Doctor Surgery: Rude Staff, Prescription Nightmare
As an employee at Treliske, I find this medical practice thoroughly disappointing. The staff are incredibly discourteous - and I mean genuinely unpleasant - particularly those managing the prescription line. Anyone unable to handle high-pressure scenarios or empathize with patients is clearly unsuited to healthcare work. They continue to use COVID as an excuse for poor performance, which is completely unacceptable. Taxpayers contribute substantial funds to these services, yet we receive substandard care. The problem isn't about needing more money, but implementing proper management and responsible spending. They've now transferred prescription responsibilities to pharmacists, effectively avoiding accountability. I'm experiencing significant issues with my repeat prescription not being processed in time, leaving me without medication on the day I need it. This resulted in me having to contact 111 emergency services. Such negligence is completely unacceptable, and I intend to file a formal complaint with the Care Quality Commission.

Nurse who finally listened on a cold January eve
I want to express my gratitude for the practitioner nurse who attended to me on the afternoon of January 2nd. She stood out as truly exceptional compared to previous healthcare professionals I've encountered, including two GPs and a physiotherapist. Unlike others, she genuinely listened and conducted a thorough physical examination of my condition. With remarkable efficiency, she recognized the necessity of an MRI and promptly consulted the doctor in the adjacent room regarding my symptoms. As a registered nurse specializing in neurology, I had repeatedly requested a scan, understanding its importance. Her professional insight led to my immediate referral to A&E, where I received the MRI and was subsequently directed to the Neurology team at Derriford. I am deeply appreciative of this nurse's expertise and comprehensive approach to my medical care.
