Feedback reflects a mixed experience across the service. Positive comments consistently highlight the care experience, with patients praising courtesy, communication, and reassurance from clinical and support staff. The practice environment receives praise for cleanliness and modern facilities, while responsiveness and professionalism are noted as strengths in specific clinical interactions. However, significant concerns emerge around appointment availability and the booking experience. Multiple patients report difficulty securing appointments through standard channels, with reception staff frequently directing them to walk-in clinics instead. The reception experience presents particular challenges, with complaints about staff attitude, communication barriers, and gatekeeping of access to clinicians. Waiting time experience and organisation of the booking system, particularly the online platform, are cited as sources of frustration. Patients also report concerns about respect and consideration during interactions, with some describing dismissive or insensitive treatment from reception staff.
The contrast between positive clinical care and negative access experiences suggests the practice delivers good quality care when patients reach clinicians, but faces significant barriers in helping patients access that care. Concerns about appointment availability, booking processes, and reception experience represent the most consistent themes requiring attention.

Bad!
Disappointing visit with zero helpful treatment
After battling chronic discomfort for years, I finally get a referral to this place, only to be dismissed with a few basic stretching recommendations. Did they really think I hadn't already tried these simple exercises during my long struggle?

Terrible service from receptionists who don't care
I've been a patient at this surgery for over four decades, and I can confidently say that during the era of Dr Freeman, Dr Stokel, and Dr Coombs, the care was exceptional - doctors genuinely listened and paid attention to patients. Now, I'm baffled by the purpose of their receptionists. When you call, all they do is repeat "DO A PATCHES" without considering elderly patients who struggle with technology. The current reception staff seem disinterested in helping, constantly redirecting patients to walk-in centres or pharmacists. It's particularly frustrating when they then inappropriately respond to patch requests that shouldn't be their responsibility. Imagine wanting to consult a doctor about a personal medical issue like a boil, but feeling uncomfortable discussing it with a receptionist who just pushes you towards online patches. The whole system is appalling. This surgery should seriously consider closing down, given how impossible it is to see a doctor and how dismissive the staff are. The recent experience with my husband epitomizes their incompetence - bitten by a horsefly, he was first sent to a pharmacist who immediately referred him back to the doctors, only to be told to do online patches and then redirected to a walk-in centre. I've never encountered such a dysfunctional medical service. We will definitely be changing our GP and filing a formal complaint with the NHS ombudsman.

Caring staff make healthcare smooth and simple
Received a phone call from Kelly regarding my COPD check-up and blood work. She thoughtfully coordinated an appointment for my husband with emphysema to be seen simultaneously by the nurse. As per usual, the surgery provides outstanding, attentive care. Much appreciation! 👍💙

Terrible healthcare experience avoid this practice
An absolute nightmare of a medical practice - steer clear at all costs. Their doctors are predominantly subpar, with only a few exceptions. The overall quality of care is shockingly poor, making this the most disappointing general practice I've ever encountered.

Nostalgic memories of a lifetime ago
I'm unable to provide a genuine assessment since my sole visit occurred half a century ago during my birth, which hardly qualifies as a meaningful review experience.

Receptionist blocks medical care for my sick child
The receptionist flatly denied my daughter an appointment with the general practitioner after we described her symptoms during a phone call. I'm utterly astounded that this medical practice permits administrative staff to arbitrate patient access to physicians. These employees possess zero medical qualifications and should confine themselves to administrative tasks. Their conduct is reprehensible and the service quality is utterly unacceptable.

An exceptional medical facility that truly stands out. Complimentary parking adds convenience. The personnel are consistently gracious and respectful. The building's design is architecturally impressive. Every staff member greets you with a warm smile. Heartfelt appreciation goes to the National Health Service.

Worst medical experience ever terrible healthcare service
I am utterly disgusted by the abysmal service provided by this medical practice. Being forced to navigate through their subpar app, only to be directed by the physician to a walk-in clinic for the treatment I require, raises serious questions about their competence. What exactly are these doctors employed to do? Are they even necessary, given their apparent unwillingness to fulfill their fundamental duty of patient care? Must one be on the brink of death or have a limb dangling by a thread before receiving any attention? Is my health concern simply an inconvenience to be dismissed?

Worst medical experience ever frustrating and time-consuming
The medical practice's customer service is abysmal, and I'm questioning their professional standards. When I attempted to schedule an appointment, I was shunted to a walk-in centre with an excruciatingly long waiting time of 5-6 hours. If general practitioners would simply return to providing direct, in-person consultations, emergency departments wouldn't be overwhelmed with patients seeking basic medical attention.

Rude receptionist humiliates my daughter at clinic
When my daughter went to deliver some medical specimens to the second-floor reception this morning, the receptionist humiliated her by forcing her to remove her stool samples from her bag in full view of other waiting patients. This staff member clearly lacks the interpersonal skills required for a customer-facing role and demonstrates a shockingly insensitive approach to patient interactions. As a healthcare professional myself, I understand the critical importance of maintaining a compassionate and welcoming demeanor. Unfortunately, my daughter was so flustered by the experience that she didn't manage to note the receptionist's name - she only recalls that the woman had dark hair.

Unhelpful nurse made me feel judged and worried
Will not be returning here with my baby! Visited today seeking guidance about recurring red rashes and marks on my child. These marks consistently vanish within 20-30 minutes of her being unclothed. I suspect this might stem from an allergic reaction to clothing or laundry detergent. I was simply looking for some professional advice, especially since doctors previously dismissed it as dry skin patches. The nurse immediately warned me about potential social service intervention, suggesting the marks looked suspicious. She focused on a red mark on her leg, which I explained was from clothing. I've even documented photographic evidence showing the mark disappears exactly as I described! Now I comprehend why parents are hesitant to seek medical advice, fearing harsh judgment. She provided zero constructive assistance, merely repeating that the marks appeared concerning and recommending I return to the original doctor who already minimized my concerns! For future consultations, I'll definitely be seeking alternative healthcare providers.

Worst medical practice ever with terrible service
The surgical practice is an absolute disaster. Scheduling an appointment is virtually impossible, yet the waiting room remains empty. The staff are dismissive and provide generic, unhelpful responses, completely disregarding medical advice from professionals at Arrowe Park. I strongly advise steering clear of this clinic. My partner has been forced to visit A&E three times due to St. Caths' sheer incompetence. Their new online booking system is a nightmare. Phone inquiries are redirected online, with no consideration for elderly patients or those without internet access. When I highlighted my lack of internet connectivity, the receptionist mockingly laughed. They've now prevented my 4-year-old from getting an appointment for three days, repeatedly redirecting us to walk-in clinics that have also turned us away. My partner, who suffers from fibromyalgia, is similarly unable to receive proper care. Their solution? Recommending ibuprofen gel for a chronic condition. It's utterly ridiculous. The practice manager is equally indifferent. I'll be escalating this to our local MP and the NHS. Steer clear of this practice at all costs.
