Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reflects a mixed experience across the service. Positive comments consistently highlight the care experience, with patients praising courtesy, communication, and reassurance from clinical and support staff. The practice environment receives praise for cleanliness and modern facilities, while responsiveness and professionalism are noted as strengths in specific clinical interactions. However, significant concerns emerge around appointment availability and the booking experience. Multiple patients report difficulty securing appointments through standard channels, with reception staff frequently directing them to walk-in clinics instead. The reception experience presents particular challenges, with complaints about staff attitude, communication barriers, and gatekeeping of access to clinicians. Waiting time experience and organisation of the booking system, particularly the online platform, are cited as sources of frustration. Patients also report concerns about respect and consideration during interactions, with some describing dismissive or insensitive treatment from reception staff.

The contrast between positive clinical care and negative access experiences suggests the practice delivers good quality care when patients reach clinicians, but faces significant barriers in helping patients access that care. Concerns about appointment availability, booking processes, and reception experience represent the most consistent themes requiring attention.

Bad!

Terrible healthcare experience with lazy doctors

I'm thoroughly frustrated with this medical practice. Why even have physicians if securing an appointment is impossible? They boast about a supposedly enhanced scheduling method, but after meticulously completing all paperwork, their response is simply to recommend a walk-in clinic. What exactly are these doctors being compensated for? Without patients seeking medical attention, they'd be unemployed. Many individuals lack the luxury of spending endless hours waiting in a clinic. You might as well neglect your health and only address issues when they become critical, then hold the practice responsible. I'm definitely switching healthcare providers. It's no surprise their rating hovers around a measly 3.7 stars.

Friendly clinic with one grumpy floor of receptionists

Charming employees throughout the premises, yet the front desk personnel on the ground level are exceptionally hostile. Attempting to schedule a doctor's appointment becomes a daunting and frustrating ordeal!

Frustrating healthcare experience leaves patient feeling helpless

Following his high blood pressure diagnosis, my husband's physician requested a follow-up in two weeks to evaluate his medication's effectiveness. However, when he attempted to schedule this crucial appointment, the receptionist blocked his access and refused to help. Resorting to an electronic consultation, he eventually received a delayed response a week after the intended timeframe. Consequently, he's now facing a medication shortage stemming from the initial "wait and observe" medical guidance. When he tried to obtain more medication, he received an email stating they won't handle repeat prescriptions electronically. Given that calling the receptionist previously caused extreme anxiety and elevated his blood pressure, he was left with seemingly no viable options for addressing his health needs.

Disrespectful staff mocking customer with hearing impairment

I approached the help desk seeking assistance and inquired about a department. Several staff members were present, and when I mentioned my hearing difficulty, one employee found it entertaining to mock my condition. He sarcastically repeated "Sorry? What did you say?" which I found deeply inappropriate. Such behavior is unprofessional, especially from someone whose job is to provide customer support. I was genuinely disappointed by this insensitive treatment and expected a much higher standard of respect from a help desk representative.

Frustrated patient's journey through healthcare nightmare

Been struggling to get proper medical attention for years, constantly being dismissed and brushed aside. Every time I try to discuss my health, I'm forced to share intimate details with receptionists, who then redirect me to walk-in centers. When I finally get a prescription, I only receive half of what I need - it's absolutely ridiculous.

Frustrating gp appointment booking nightmare

I've been struggling to secure a medical consultation for weeks: St Cath's patients previously had to phone at 8am, enduring lengthy queues with slim chances of same-day booking, which completely deterred me from seeking GP care. When a new online booking system was introduced, I attempted to schedule an appointment but was rejected twice, being redirected to a specialist clinic. On my third attempt, I mentioned my previous consultation with Dr Dennis (an outstanding physician at the practice) who had recommended a follow-up. Surprisingly, I received a message confirming an appointment two days later at 08:45am, with instructions to call and reschedule if unavailable. I called to change the appointment, and the staff member confirmed its cancellation while instructing me to reschedule the next day. Ironically, I then received a text reminder for the supposedly cancelled appointment. Upon calling again, I was informed I couldn't reschedule and must submit a request ON THE EXACT DAY I can attend. This means potentially taking a day off work with no guarantee of securing an appointment, as the surgery claims they "don't book in advance" (despite having booked me without confirming my availability 🙄). It's no wonder more people are resorting to self-diagnosis and over-the-counter treatments, risking misunderstanding their symptoms, as obtaining a GP appointment has become practically impossible!

Terrible service and impossible appointments at this clinic

Getting a medical consultation here is incredibly challenging unless you're struggling with substance abuse. The front desk personnel are extremely unaccommodating. I strongly recommend seeking out any alternative general practice clinic other than this one.

Worst hospital experience ever terrible staff service

Typically, this place runs smoothly, but today demonstrated sheer ineptitude. The employees were completely preoccupied with their own conversations, completely neglecting to guide customers properly. After wasting 25 minutes sitting around, we finally spoke to someone who informed us we were in the incorrect waiting area. Adding insult to injury, we were then dismissed and told we couldn't be seen because we were considered late - an utterly ridiculous situation. Such unprofessional conduct by staff members is precisely why organizations like the NHS develop negative reputations.

Terrible clinic with zero help for my family

This medical facility is completely ineffective when it comes to scheduling appointments. We consistently end up going to the walk-in clinic at St. Catharine because they never have available slots. I requested allergy testing for my children, given my wife's nut allergy, but they flatly rejected my request and suggested I seek private testing. Such an absurd and unhelpful response.
