I have been attending this surgery throughout my life, and at 74 years old, I can say it was once considered an excellent practice in the area for many years. However, in recent times, it has lost my confidence across various aspects of its service. That said, I recently had an appointment and was pleasantly surprised by the professional approach demonstrated during the consultation. It was genuinely one of the best experiences I have had in a considerable time, and I am hopeful that the surgery will be able to restore itself to the high standards it once maintained.

Receptionists always make time when it matters

I have been attending this practice for more than two decades. Although circumstances have evolved and securing appointments has become more challenging in recent years, it is important to acknowledge that this is a widespread issue across the sector. I consider myself fortunate to have access to a surgery where I feel genuinely supported and cared for. The entire team consistently demonstrates friendliness and professionalism, and the front desk staff have consistently made genuine efforts to accommodate me when my needs have been urgent. The clinician I see is wonderful. They take time to listen carefully, offer reassurance, and demonstrate genuine compassion. They are an exceptional healthcare professional and I hope they continue with the practice.

This morning, I visited St. Georges Crescent Surgery for my cortisone injection, and I am incredibly grateful to Doctor Eshan. He is an exceptional physician who genuinely cares about his patients, always willing to take the time to clarify anything you need help with. I must also acknowledge the amazing reception team; they have always treated me exceptionally well. While I'm not familiar with everyone's names, I do recognize Emma, Elisabeth, Leoni, Ann, and Pippa. My apologies if I've overlooked anyone because each of you has shown such kindness and support. Additionally, a special thank you goes out to Nurse Nia for her wonderful assistance during my visits. Having been a patient for two decades, I can confidently say that I've never encountered any problems with the surgical procedures. The staff is outstanding across the board. Today, Dr. Pasha attended to my two-year-old daughter, and she was giggling and smiling throughout the entire examination. Today, I visited Dr. Pasha for the second occasion. After more than 15 years, I genuinely feel as though my concerns have been acknowledged and understood for the very first time.

I have been a patient at this surgery for four years and have consistently been satisfied with the care provided. I can easily secure appointments by calling at 8 AM for same-day slots or by scheduling in advance. Both the doctors and the reception staff are friendly and accommodating. During consultations, whether with a doctor or nurse, they demonstrate expertise, compassion, and understanding regarding my concerns. They thoroughly explain all procedures and inform me about what to expect if treatment or tests are necessary. Additionally, the facility is always maintained in a clean and orderly manner.

Getting an appointment for my elderly mum

The receptionist was very helpful, I’ve never had a problem booking appointments for my elderly parents within this surgery over the years. I feel that my parents were always well looked after and treated with dignity and respect. Thankyou all your doing a great job.

Reception staff repeatedly ignored chosen name and pronouns

The clinical care I receive is of a high standard, however my experiences with the wider practice staff have been consistently disappointing as a transgender patient. Despite having my chosen name recorded on my file since registering, it has never been used by any member of staff. Following my legal name change, I continued to be addressed by my previous legal name and referred to with incorrect pronouns, even whilst presenting documentation of this change. The practice appears to lack training in providing respectful and dignified care to transgender patients. I am aware of other transgender individuals using this practice, yet staff members frequently ask questions about transgender-related terminology and concepts during appointments that are unrelated to the reason for my visit, which suggests a gap in their understanding of appropriate professional conduct. Accessing care requires significant personal effort and persistence. The telephone reception service is particularly problematic, with calls frequently being disconnected or transferred inappropriately to the pharmacy, who direct callers back to the doctor—the very reason for attempting to book an appointment by phone in the first place. This means appointments must be booked in person, which undermines the purpose of having a staffed telephone line, particularly given that same-day slots are typically unavailable after early morning hours.

What a breath of fresh air this clinician is. They take time to explain their diagnosis and their approach to treatment. I felt that they had time for me and to fully explain my concerns. At long last, this practice appears to be on the "up".

He made adjustments to my medication while also outlining additional options that I could consider, reassuring me not to endure difficulties alone. His level of information and approachability stood out, reflecting a high standard of practice. I've consistently found it easy to secure an appointment or phone consultation with the practice, which has undeniably enhanced over the past year.

Rather than exploring possible solutions or providing explanations, I was simply told no without any alternatives offered. This made an already challenging experience of trying to access appointments and medical support even more frustrating. The lack of courtesy and willingness to assist was disappointing, and I feel the practice would benefit from reviewing their reception team's approach to patient interactions.
