Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and phone communication, with patients reporting persistent difficulties reaching the practice, extended waiting times on hold, and unavailable appointment slots. Reception experience emerges as a key concern, with multiple accounts of discourteous staff and poor responsiveness to patient needs. Registration and booking processes have been described as lengthy and problematic, whilst follow-up care appears inconsistent, with some patients receiving inadequate support after initial consultations.

Positive experiences centre on individual clinician interactions, where attentive care, comprehensive explanations, warm demeanor, and professional approach have been consistently praised. Diagnostic imaging quality and reassurance provided during consultations are highlighted as strengths. However, these positive experiences with clinical staff contrast sharply with systemic operational issues affecting access and continuity of care, which patients attribute to staff unavailability, physician rotation, and limited consultation options.

The practice faces particular criticism regarding phone accessibility, with patients unable to connect during peak hours and encountering dysfunctional online booking systems. Prescription errors and delayed medication processing have also been reported. Whilst some patients acknowledge supportive reception and nursing teams, the overwhelming pattern suggests fundamental service delivery problems that undermine confidence in the practice, despite occasional instances of excellent individual clinical care.

Terrible service from unhelpful medical centre

just reached out to St George's seeking medical help while feeling extremely unwell and was redirected to minster or Sittingbourne hospital walk-in clinics !!! St George's medical centre refused to see me despite my rare requests for assistance. I'm far too sick to travel to those hospitals without transportation. My relative who lives in Wales consistently gets appointments with ease, while I'm stuck in sheerness, thirty years her senior and battling COPD, yet I'm unable to secure a consultation. It's absolutely outrageous. Does anyone have recommendations for a more accommodating medical practice I could register with

Longtime patient shocked by terrible medical service

I've been a loyal patient at this practice for over half a century and always spoke highly of them, but now I must say they are absolutely terrible. This morning, I tried calling and was left on hold for 40 minutes with no response. I attempted the callback option, which predictably failed. I then tried an e-consultation, but they weren't accepting those either. When I attempted to email, I received a response saying they couldn't help. Essentially, there's no way to contact them at all. The most frustrating experience was my visit the day before, where not a single staff member was available. Two receptionists were engrossed in conversation while phones rang continuously, with no one bothering to answer. It seemed the back-office staff and receptionists were deliberately ignoring calls, thinking "it's not my job" and preferring to chat among themselves. This practice has deteriorated from possibly the best on the island to the absolute worst. It's no wonder people constantly complain about the state of our NHS, particularly the doctors' surgeries.

Terrible service from unprofessional medical staff

I'm baffled by the medical staff recruitment at this facility - they seriously need to reconsider their hiring process. These healthcare professionals are incredibly discourteous, and one of these days they'll antagonize someone who won't tolerate their behavior. Not everyone will simply accept their disrespect, so sitting smugly in their office and treating patients poorly might backfire spectacularly. Just a friendly warning. And as the old saying goes, "If you pay peanuts..."

Incompetent doctor wastes time with confusing consultation

I received a text scheduling a phone consultation about my results. When the doctor called, he seemed confused and asked me why he was calling, which made me question if he even had my results available. It was essentially a pointless interaction where the GP demonstrated complete ignorance. He mentioned I had been referred to MCH but appeared unaware of what that even meant. The entire experience was characterized by poor communication and inefficiency. Since I did not initiate this appointment and they contacted me, I find the whole process completely unprofessional.

Quick response and compassionate care

Exceptional care provided by Doctor Ebun. I submitted an online consultation early morning, and received a prompt telephone response within half an hour. I secured a same-day appointment in the afternoon, during which the doctor was incredibly helpful. She prescribed appropriate medication, maintained a warm demeanor, and offered comprehensive guidance. This level of efficient and personable medical service is something we've experienced before at this practice.

Nosy receptionist ruins medical office experience

Front desk staff act like medical professionals, interrogating patients about symptoms and scrutinizing medical files to determine if a doctor's consultation is warranted—absolutely unacceptable behavior.

Dangerous healthcare that puts patients at serious risk

Absolutely appalling service at this medical facility that urgently needs complete overhaul. The staff are completely incompetent and potentially endangering patient lives through negligent practices. They consistently refuse to provide in-person consultations, instead making hasty and potentially incorrect diagnoses through impersonal phone calls. The healthcare professionals demonstrate zero respect for patient concerns, completely disregarding individual symptoms and medical needs. Particularly egregious is the Leysdown surgery connected to St. George's, which operates with a shocking level of unprofessionalism that borders on medical malpractice. It's astonishing that such a dangerous and substandard healthcare provider continues to operate without consequence, putting countless patients at serious risk. This surgery is fundamentally failing in its most basic responsibility to provide proper medical care and should be immediately shut down to protect public health.

Frustrating healthcare experience with no resolution

Spent nearly half an hour waiting on hold, only to be informed that no appointments were available and I needed to complete an online consultation form. However, the form is completely dysfunctional—whenever I input my symptoms, it redirects me to another page, preventing me from actually scheduling an appointment.

Terrible patient care and communication after covid pandemic

The quality of service at this medical practice has significantly deteriorated since the pandemic. The front desk personnel consistently fail to respond to phone calls, and their lengthy, outdated voicemail greeting seems to deliberately prevent patients from booking appointments. The government should withhold funding until this surgery demonstrates a complete commitment to providing proper patient care.

Nightmare experience with terrible customer service and support

Trying to secure an appointment here is like hoping to hit the jackpot - nearly impossible. The employees are discourteous and the overall service quality is abysmal. They go out of their way to dodge in-person consultations. Reaching them by telephone is a futile effort, and their latest system has eliminated even the option of waiting in a queue.

I've been desperately seeking relief from my Arthritis pain for ages, and their online platform seems completely unresponsive to my needs. I have no intention of committing fraud, but it feels like chest pain is the only symptom that gets any medical attention or support.

Compassionate care with a bit of scheduling challenge

Dr. Ebun reached out to me today regarding my son's medical concerns, and she was incredibly detailed in her approach. The reception team is consistently pleasant when you treat them with respect. The only drawback is their high patient volume, which makes scheduling via phone challenging. However, their online consultation platform is straightforward, and they typically offer telephone follow-ups within 24 hours.
