Mixed medical experience with terrible front desk

The medical professionals provide excellent care, but the front desk staff are incredibly off-putting and lacking in compassion. Whenever I attempt to communicate with the office, I experience overwhelming stress, and obtaining an appointment or prescription becomes an exhausting battle. The reception team seems overwhelmed by even the simplest requests. Given that medical interactions are inherently stressful, a warm and welcoming initial interaction would make a significant difference in patient experience.

Terrible service and unreliable medical support

I've never been entirely satisfied with this medical practice. Despite being registered with them for several years and rarely needing their services, I recently encountered significant frustration when requesting a doctor's note for work. The process was painfully slow, taking three days and requiring multiple follow-up calls from me to understand the delay. The receptionists consistently come across as disinterested and provide minimal customer support. Additionally, my partner experiences ongoing issues with prescription management; for the past two years, his repeat prescriptions are consistently sent to the pharmacy late, which results in him being without essential medication for several days. As a result, I am currently exploring alternative medical practices, as my interactions with this clinic have been consistently unsatisfactory.

Heartless receptionist triggers anxiety and tears

My usual experiences with the GP were positive, but one receptionist triggered a panic attack by treating me appallingly when I came to collect blood test forms. My GP had specifically asked me to visit the surgery, and I waited 20 minutes while the receptionist ignored me, engrossed in her computer. Eventually, she harshly demanded to know why I was there, suggesting I shouldn't be present. I explained that it was 10am, the doctor had called me in for forms, but she instantly claimed the forms weren't there without even checking. She then forced me outside, locked the door, and later pushed through a form with a completely different name. When I pointed out it wasn't my name, she insisted it was, as if I wouldn't recognize my own identity. Living with generalized anxiety disorder makes going out challenging, especially during covid, and I'm already on beta blockers alongside anxiety medication. She eventually provided the correct form after verbally attacking me, leaving me in tears. To make matters worse, when I was redirected to another medical center for blood tests, they informed me they'd stopped conducting them six months earlier. I'm not confrontational and followed all guidelines, double-checking covid rules before visiting. This occurred around May 2020, and the experience was so traumatic that I subsequently left the practice, becoming too anxious to return or seek medical help.

Unlike previous healthcare providers who overlooked or missed my critical health condition, this doctor took a comprehensive approach. Scanning the other reviews, I'm quite surprised! Having switched from a different medical practice with an identical booking system, I find this experience comparable overall. Unless individuals desire a large team of 30 receptionists handling phone calls, I cannot comprehend why people would criticize something beyond the surgery's control. Moreover, I can genuinely affirm that this practice has been exceptionally supportive, particularly considering the ongoing challenges presented by covid. I cannot commend them highly enough.

Terrible gp surgery with zero patient care

Without a doubt, this general practice surgery represents the most subpar healthcare experience I've ever encountered. I attempted to schedule my infant's immunization appointments on four separate occasions, consistently being informed that no appointments were available due to the doctor's absence or the nurse being unavailable. Their repeated advice was to call back in two weeks, which would have meant my child was nearly 10 weeks old without receiving her critical 6/8 week health check and essential vaccinations. Adding insult to injury, I received a written request to book these immunizations, only to be met with the same frustrating roadblock when I called. The receptionist displayed complete indifference and offered no meaningful assistance, merely suggesting I contact a health visitor or seek care elsewhere. The level of incompetence and lack of patient care is absolutely unacceptable!!

Worst medical experience ever with unhelpful staff

Utterly appalling treatment from the receptionist - Janice or Janet, I can't even recall her name. When I phoned to inquire about my son's test results, she completely dismissed my concerns. To make matters worse, the GP I consulted was equally unhelpful, showing no genuine interest in my child's health. Despite my clear anxiety about my baby's condition, the doctor went off on an unrelated tangent and bizarrely suggested Gaviscon for infants. The entire experience was completely unacceptable and left me feeling totally frustrated and ignored!

Terrible reception ruined my entire medical experience

The reception's customer service is absolutely abysmal. Even when the waiting area is deserted, you'll find yourself completely overlooked, and should you attempt to seek assistance, you'll be rudely interrupted mid-sentence. On the bright side, the medical professionals themselves were competent.
