The surgical care has been excellent, and I can confidently say that numerous friends who are also patients share my positive perspective. The entire team demonstrates remarkable dedication and resilience, managing remarkably well during these challenging times for the National Health Service.

I'll spare the public details, but the representative seemed more interested in strictly adhering to protocols than actually addressing my concern or showing any genuine compassion for patient needs.

Moreover, the medical professionals and doctors connected with this practice have invariably been quick to follow up, either through direct consultation or telephone contact after my initial interaction with the reception team. I would confidently endorse St James Surgery to my close acquaintances and relatives.

Despite my previous 5-star endorsement, the recent interactions with the reception staff have been incredibly disappointing, particularly when Debbie engaged in a hostile and belittling phone conversation with me regarding an address issue. Today, after consulting with 111 and visiting the hospital, I sought assistance. Although I was still technically registered with this surgery and in the process of transferring to a new catchment area, the receptionist was completely indifferent and unwilling to help. In stark contrast, my new surgery immediately registered me and provided supportive service. Following a decade of mostly positive experiences with St James, these recent encounters with the reception team have severely damaged my perception of the practice, and I cannot in good conscience recommend them based on my current experience.

The reception staff demonstrated an appalling level of unprofessionalism and disrespect. During two separate interactions where I merely sought straightforward information about scheduling, the employees, including Sally and an unnamed colleague who deliberately concealed her identity, displayed an aggressively unwelcoming demeanor. These staff members openly ridiculed and degraded me in a public setting, targeting my cultural background and manner of speaking in front of other patients. Their behavior was not only inappropriate but deeply offensive. I am resolute in filing a formal complaint about this unacceptable treatment. Never in my previous experiences with medical practices have I encountered such blatantly hostile and discriminatory behavior from front desk personnel. This conduct is entirely unacceptable and demands immediate attention and intervention.

I was assured on two separate occasions that my prescription had been authorized by a physician and was ready for pickup at Morrisons, yet each time no prescription was available. During my THIRD attempt to resolve this issue, the Receptionist was extremely dismissive and essentially terminated our conversation abruptly.

I was referred to St James by my own medical practice to consult with Guy, a physiotherapist. Following his initial assessment, he indicated I would be contacted about treatment and assured me I could reach out to him whenever necessary. However, contrary to his promise, no one at St James has been willing to schedule a call or discussion. As a result, my pain management journey has effectively come to a halt. I wish the next patient referred to Guy better fortune.
