Feedback reveals a practice with significant challenges in appointment access and reception experience, though some patients report positive interactions with clinical staff. Securing appointments presents a persistent difficulty, particularly during morning booking hours, with phone line accessibility issues and long waiting times cited repeatedly. Reception experience varies considerably, with some patients describing dismissive or unhelpful interactions, whilst others praise courteous staff. Communication gaps emerge as a notable concern, including appointment time errors, lack of apologies for service failures, and insufficient follow-up on referrals and test results.
On a positive note, the practice environment has been modernized with digital systems and comfortable facilities, and nursing care receives consistent praise for helpfulness and responsiveness. Some patients report successful same-day appointment access and seamless booking experiences. However, these positive experiences are substantially outweighed by concerns about prescription management problems, parking difficulties, and perceived lack of compassion during critical moments. Several patients describe feeling dismissed when seeking urgent care or expressing health concerns.
The practice demonstrates inconsistency in service quality across different areas. While some clinical interactions are described as professional and caring, systemic issues around appointment availability, reception demeanor, and responsiveness to patient needs create frustration. Patients express particular concern about difficulty accessing face-to-face consultations and the responsiveness of phone systems, with some noting a perceived decline in standards over time.

Horrific experience that left me traumatized forever
This place is an absolute nightmare. I'd sooner choose death than endure their abysmal customer treatment. The service here is unquestionably the most horrendous I've ever encountered.

Bad!
Frustrating registration and terrible customer service
Registering took an extended period due to my missing NHS number, and now their phone line remains consistently unavailable outside of practical appointment hours. As someone with prior experience as an NHS key worker, I find this level of service absolutely unacceptable.

Bad!
Worst medical practice ever frustrating and unhelpful
Alarmingly substandard service. Getting a face-to-face doctor's appointment is practically unattainable, and securing a telephone consultation is equally challenging. Their email responsiveness is negligent, and the Econsult system is unreliable at best. A number of staff members, particularly in reception and call handling, display shockingly unprofessional attitudes. While the medical professionals might potentially be competent, accessing them or receiving adequate care is virtually impossible. Park Surgery, since becoming part of this group, has dramatically declined from its previously excellent standard. Without doubt, this represents the most inadequate primary healthcare provider in Aberdare.

Bad!
Terrible service and zero compassion for patients
The primary issue lies in scheduling appointments and the reception team's demeanor. Their dismissive responses, such as "that's just how it works" and suggesting to wait until after hours to call when experiencing discomfort, are completely unhelpful and frustrating.

Frustrating healthcare experience at local medical practice
What was once a reasonably good medical practice has now devolved into an organization that seemingly takes deliberate steps to create unnecessary obstacles and frustration.

Terrible customer service that left me frustrated
Completely unacceptable customer service - the staff member I interacted with was incredibly unhelpful and refused to schedule an appointment for me. I'm thoroughly disgusted by their unprofessional attitude and will definitely be filing a formal complaint about how I was treated. I'm absolutely switching providers.

Compassionate health visitor makes a real difference
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Myra Evans, an exceptional health visitor who has been instrumental in supporting our children's early development. Her dedication and expertise have truly made a significant difference in giving our boys the best possible foundation for their future. We are incredibly thankful for all her incredible support and guidance.

Bad!
Worst medical experience ever avoid at all costs
If I could have awarded zero stars, I absolutely would have, because even one star feels like far too generous! This establishment has undoubtedly hit rock bottom, and I can't imagine how they could possibly sink any lower. The physicians demonstrate zero genuine interest and are completely unwilling to schedule an in-person consultation. They've reached a point where they candidly admit being clueless about the diagnostic path, essentially telling patients to seek emergency room care if they have concerns! What kind of professional medical service operates like this? It's utterly ridiculous that patients are forced to invest in private medical coverage just to receive a proper medical evaluation! Absolutely abysmal service!

Quick and efficient medical consultation service
Excellent support overall. Just a heads up: make sure to request your medical documentation prior to midday, otherwise you'll need to contact them the following day for a retroactive certification. The online consultation platform functions smoothly and effectively.

Worst medical experience ever terrible healthcare nightmare
Utterly appalling, the medical staff display complete indifference, seemingly unbothered even when a patient's life hangs in the balance. Zero compassion or assistance provided during the most critical moments.

Terrible healthcare experience with zero support
Enrolled with this medical practice recently. My arthritis condition has significantly deteriorated. I've made three separate requests to consult a physician, yet remain unattended. It's incomprehensible how a proper diagnosis can be made without an actual patient examination. Furthermore, how can medication be prescribed without a direct medical assessment?

Friendly service and smooth experience every time
Fantastic service from the staff, who were incredibly supportive and responsive during our phone interactions. Scheduling an appointment was a breeze, and the self-check-in process was seamless. Honestly, I couldn't find a single fault with the entire experience. While there's no dedicated parking on-site, this actually prevents the area from being congested with town shoppers, and the nearby pay-and-display lot is just a quick 30-second stroll away!

Frustrating medical service with poor communication
I'm thoroughly frustrated with the service I encountered today. The receptionist provided me with an incorrect appointment time over the phone - 4:10pm instead of 2pm (a very precise time), which I distinctly remember recording, so I'm certain I wasn't mistaken. This error originated from Park Surgery, and when I raised the issue a second time at St John's, the reception staff offered no apology. By this point, I had already waited over an hour only to be told I needed to be rescheduled and simply wait. The appointment was for my 3-year-old son with a potential ear infection. Fortunately, he seemed to be improving compared to his condition last night, so I decided to take a chance and hope I won't need to seek emergency care. I'm not typically someone who complains, and my family has been with Park Surgery for over half a century, but the declining quality of service and communication has compelled me to share my experience!

Terrible receptionist mars otherwise excellent surgical experience
Overall, the surgical experience is quite positive, with just one significant drawback: the receptionist named Joanne, who displays an extremely unpleasant demeanor and provides absolutely no assistance.

Bad!
Terrible parking and unhelpful staff at medical center
Absolutely zero patient parking is available at this facility. No clear signage indicates staff-only zones. While helping my elderly, disabled grandmother visit her doctor, the parking attendant issued me a citation. They didn't even place a ticket on the windshield, so I was completely unaware until receiving a demand for a full £78 penalty two months later. This feels like an outright scheme to maximize fine revenue. When I questioned the staff about this, they dismissively told me I shouldn't have parked there. Furthermore, the staff demonstrated remarkable incompetence. Despite documented evidence that my grandmother's medication had already been reviewed, they refused to renew her prescription without an additional consultation. I spent half an hour futilely trying to make the receptionist comprehend this. I was forced to take her out in miserable, cold, rainy weather to an appointment that even the doctor acknowledged was unnecessary, since she had already undergone her review. As a result, I've composed a formal complaint letter to the NHS board.
