Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience at the practice, with significant contrasts between clinical care and administrative processes. Many patients report positive interactions with medical professionals, who are frequently described as attentive, thorough, and compassionate during consultations. Reception and booking experiences receive consistent praise from satisfied patients, with staff noted for courtesy and helpfulness. However, appointment access remains a substantial concern, with multiple patients describing lengthy delays in securing consultations, extended telephone waiting times, and frustration with the booking process. Some patients report difficulty with registration procedures and inconsistent communication about appointment availability.
Clinical care quality is generally well-regarded, with patients appreciating the time doctors and nurses invest in listening and explaining procedures clearly. Blood tests and routine examinations are frequently described as efficiently conducted with professional skill. The practice environment and organisation are highlighted positively by long-term patients who value continuity and the welcoming reception team. Conversely, a minority of patients have experienced unprofessional reception interactions and challenges accessing timely appointments, which has undermined their confidence in the service. These administrative barriers contrast sharply with the competence and care demonstrated during actual clinical encounters, suggesting the practice delivers strong clinical outcomes but faces challenges with appointment availability and initial access.

Smooth and painless blood test experience
Went in for lab work. The phlebotomist was punctual, skilled, and had a welcoming demeanor during my visit.

AverageShocking failure to listen
I have mental health problems and struggle to be heard or listened to properly whenever I speak to GPs at the surgery. They don't call you when they say they are going to so you end up having to fight to get an appointment only to get GPs who don't have a clue how to listen to someone with mental health issues explain what's going on. They then seem disinterested in referring you to community mental health teams when you ask even when you know you would be better off dealing with them. outside regularly has people coming to the pharmacy for methadone (and yes I am glad they are getting help) hanging around very rude and intimidating when you smoking and swearing and drinking. Makes you feel dead nervous and on edge going in and out of the surgery

This is the worst doctors surgery I could possibly imagine, Impossible to get an appointment, the staff lie to cover up the competence, I was told today by a staff member that all uk phone line were down and that is why I couldn't get through? this was totally untrue and just another pathetic lie. Everywhere I go From the life rooms, Southport Crisis Cafe to my local Church, I keep hearing the same Stories of people ringing at 0800 Day after day just to spend and average of 40 minutes on the phone just to be told all appointments have gone and try again tomorrow. This surgery with their dishonesty and lack of are and Professionalism are causing so much Suffering and Driving people in my Peer Group to Actually hurt themselves to Try and get the help the are entitled to. This Surgery genuinely Disgusts me and I now record every interaction with St Marks in person and via the telephone so I can at least prove the lack of quality of service and protect myself from being made to look like a liar when they deny the reality of their dangerous practices. Please where possible avoid this surgery at all costs for the sake of you health.
