Feedback reveals a practice with significant and persistent challenges in appointment access and booking experience. Patients consistently report difficulties securing consultations, with long waiting times for phone responses, limited availability through the e-consult system, and barriers to in-person appointments. Reception experience emerges as a key concern, with multiple accounts of dismissive and discourteous staff interactions, though some patients describe welcoming and supportive receptionists. Communication gaps are widespread, including delayed responses to requests, contradictory information from different staff members, and inadequate follow-up on promised callbacks. Several positive experiences highlight responsive communication, professional staff, and compassionate care when patients do access services, suggesting variable service quality across the practice.
Continuity of care presents a notable issue, with patients reporting inconsistent access to the same healthcare provider and reliance on telephone or online consultations rather than face-to-face appointments. Administrative failures, including prescription processing delays and incomplete documentation handling, have created frustration and disrupted patient care. The e-consult system, while offering flexibility for some, operates within restrictive time windows that many find impractical. Despite these challenges, a minority of reviews praise the practice's efficiency, staff professionalism, and genuine attentiveness to patient concerns, indicating that experiences vary considerably depending on individual interactions and circumstances.

Bad!
Rude receptionists ruin patient experience at clinic
I am utterly dismayed by the reception staff's conduct at Saint Mary Surgery. Their demeanor is shockingly arrogant, discourteous, and deeply disrespectful. They consistently interrupt patients mid-sentence, and their communication style suggests they're bestowing a grand favor merely by performing their basic job duties. It is profoundly disturbing to encounter such an unwelcoming and dismissive approach, particularly in a healthcare setting that should prioritize patient care. Some individuals, especially those battling mental health challenges, desperately require empathy and compassion—not this frigid, patronizing treatment. Such behavior is completely intolerable. A medical facility must ensure its staff demonstrates genuine kindness and respect towards patients. The current reception team's attitude makes patients feel marginalized and emotionally diminished even before receiving care. I genuinely hope this critique prompts serious self-reflection and genuine remorse for their unprofessional interactions. I strongly urge immediate and meaningful improvements. Patients unquestionably merit far better treatment.

Compassionate healthcare with a human touch
The staff here truly exemplify excellence in professionalism and warmth. I can confidently say this is the most outstanding general practice clinic I've encountered. Their receptionist displayed remarkable compassion while assisting someone with dementia, consistently maintaining a welcoming demeanor and guiding me through the process. They meticulously explained each step and the reasoning behind their actions, engaging with direct eye contact. Most impressively, they interact with patients with genuine respect and humanity. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to this incredible team for their outstanding commitment to our local community!

Frustrating healthcare and poor patient treatment
St Mary's medical practice was once a reliable healthcare provider, but now securing an appointment has become an insurmountable challenge. The doctors on staff seem to deliberately evade patient consultations, with telephone appointments being the sole, slim opportunity for interaction. We're compelled to wonder about the purpose of our National Health Service contributions. What happened to patient rights? This situation is profoundly frustrating and demoralizing.

Bureaucratic nightmare at local health practice
Getting an IHS number at this medical practice is an excruciatingly slow process that drags on for over a month! Throughout this period, you're left completely in the dark with zero communication. Should you attempt to get information by showing up physically, you'll be met with vague instructions to simply continue waiting, with absolutely no clarity on your application's status - it's enough to make you lose your mind! If you dare to embark on this bureaucratic nightmare, you'd better have the patience of a saint and the immune system of an Olympic athlete to survive the ordeal.

Terrible service from unhelpful medical staff
Completely Worthless. Zero assistance provided. The front desk staff attempt to play medical professionals and consistently refuse to schedule appointments. In almost every instance, they'll redirect you to the emergency room.

Worst medical care ever experienced with terrible attitude
AN UTTERLY DREADFUL MEDICAL PRACTICE My toddler, who is two years old, was unwell, and the staff completely dismissed him, claiming his condition wasn't urgent and directing us to the hospital's walk-in center Not only that, but during my pregnancy, they also refused to schedule a doctor's appointment for me, instead insisting I go to the hospital's walk-in center. After waiting for an hour there, I was then criticized for why my GP hadn't provided me an appointment Additionally, the receptionist was incredibly disrespectful In summary, this is an ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE MEDICAL PRACTICE - AVOID REGISTERING OR EVEN CONSIDERING THEM!!!!!

Terrible service and zero compassion for patients
A COMPLETE MEDICAL NIGHTMARE Whenever a family member falls ill, they consistently deny scheduling an appointment for my pregnant spouse and young two-year-old child. They persistently redirect us to the walk-in centre, which lacks genuine medical professionals, and the staff themselves complain about the surgery's inadequate practices. Being registered with this practice serves absolutely no purpose. To make matters worse, the receptionist was incredibly discourteous and unhelpful. Frankly, I cannot comprehend how this medical practice continues to operate. The entire experience was utterly deplorable.

Worst healthcare experience leading to mental distress
Forced to select one star just to submit feedback. This GP practice is so horrendous that it has pushed me to extreme despair. They have deliberately manipulated and falsified my medical records. The catalog of their misconduct seems endless. Despite knowing about my chronic pain, spinal complications, and mental health challenges, they continue to make my existence unbearable. Now they're creating unnecessary obstacles to my request for switching to another GP within the same surgery, claiming a 28-day process which I've been informed is completely inaccurate. I previously received confirmation from a medical helpline that this transfer should be straightforward. However, I'm not pursuing a formal complaint, having learned from past experience that such efforts result in absolutely no meaningful improvement.

Terrible service and unprofessional medical staff
I am utterly dismayed by the treatment I encountered at this medical center. The personnel, particularly those in leadership roles, displayed an appalling lack of courtesy and compassion. Despite my earnest efforts to seek help, I was met with dismissive attitudes and left feeling completely abandoned. The absence of basic professional standards and genuine concern is truly shocking, and I cannot in good conscience suggest this practice to anyone. I sincerely hope the leadership takes a critical look at their approach and makes meaningful improvements for the well-being of future patients.

Terrible service and unprofessional medical staff
The most terrible surgical experience I've ever encountered. Attempting to contact their office means enduring a 30-minute hold, only to have them abruptly end the call upon answering. My interaction with this medical practice has been entirely unsatisfactory and frustrating.

Frustrated patient with terrible medical experience
Doctors aren't attentive to patients' concerns, which is deeply unfair. That's why I'm considering leaving the medical service. These doctors don't take patients seriously, and I'm giving them one star because they provide minimal help and fail to offer proper support.

Worst doctor ever avoid at all costs
I encountered "Doctor" Claire Balysz at this medical facility today, and it was an absolute nightmare. She proved to be the most unprofessional and callous healthcare provider I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. She utterly dismissed my medical concerns and failed to provide any meaningful treatment. I've already filed a formal complaint with the General Medical Council. My strongest advice is to steer clear of Dr. Balysz if you have any regard for your well-being and mental health.

Bureaucratic nightmare destroying my mental health care
Even with confirmed diagnoses from both private and NHS providers, I was inexplicably required to undergo another ADHD assessment to continue receiving my medication. The waiting list stretches an unbelievable year and a half. During my dispute, I was given three contradictory explanations in a single phone conversation, with each excuse blaming different departments and individuals. The representative initially stated one thing and completely reversed his position by the call's end, leaving me bewildered. When I confronted him about these inconsistencies, he became defensive and argued about whether he was being truthful, instead of addressing my urgent medical needs. I continue to suffer immensely. Anyone familiar with ADHD understands the critical importance of consistent medication. Without it, I experience dangerous mood volatility that renders my life unbearable since joining this practice. Their approach is absolutely appalling. The situation with therapy is equally frustrating - I've repeatedly requested support over the past eight months, only to be met with complete indifference. It's abundantly clear they have zero concern for their patients' health and overall wellbeing.

Terrible service and disorganized medical registration process
My interaction with St. Mary Surgery has been incredibly frustrating. Upon submitting the required documentation to register my newborn twins, I was guaranteed the process would be finalized within seven days and that I would receive confirmation. Despite this promise, a week elapsed without any update, and when I initiated contact, they claimed certain documents were incomplete and could not even trace our original submission. This administrative failure has created substantial disruption in scheduling critical vaccinations for my children. The clinic's poor organizational skills and ineffective communication have been deeply aggravating and wholly unprofessional. I sincerely hope the medical practice takes immediate steps to rectify these systemic problems and prevent similar complications for other patients.

Terrible healthcare experience after decades of loyalty
The service here is utterly disgraceful - securing an urgent consultation is impossible. Despite being a long-standing patient for over three and a half decades, the quality of care has consistently deteriorated. The physicians demonstrate zero concern for patients' medical issues, and I'm absolutely determined to find a new practice. For the past half-year, I've been struggling with ongoing health concerns, and they've been completely unhelpful. While I've technically been associated with this clinic for 36 years, I've only genuinely required their medical assistance during the last one or two years, with my previous substantial interaction being around age 12. I sincerely hope this medical facility shuts down - their abysmal two-star rating is a perfect reflection of their substandard service.

Nhs failed me multiple times with misdiagnosis
I feel compelled to share my deeply frustrating personal experience with NHS healthcare services, hoping others might understand my struggle. In 2020, I suffered from debilitating hip pain that was repeatedly misdiagnosed as sciatica, despite my severe mobility issues. No diagnostic scans were offered, only heavy pain medication. A year passed with no meaningful treatment, forcing me to return to my home country for proper diagnosis and surgery. Consequently, I lost my job. In 2022, a medial meniscus tear was incorrectly labeled as tendonitis, with no NHS scans or treatment for six months. I was forced to completely restructure my lifestyle. Even after an MRI, the radiologist's diagnosis was incorrect, compelling me to seek treatment abroad. Now in 2024, I'm experiencing potential hernia symptoms and have been advised to simply stop exercising and eat more fruits and vegetables. At 29 years old, I've already lost two years of my life, dramatically altering my lifestyle and career due to systemic healthcare failures. When even NHS nurses admit the system is fundamentally broken, it's clear there's a serious problem. Something must be done. We pay for this service and deserve basic respect and proper medical care.
