Patient feedback reveals a distinctly mixed experience across appointment access, waiting times, reception courtesy, and clinical care. Many patients report significant difficulties securing appointments, with common complaints about lengthy phone queues, unavailable time slots, and staff suggesting patients call back repeatedly without resolution. Extended waiting times feature prominently, with patients describing waits of one to three hours despite pre-booked appointments. Reception experience varies considerably, with some patients praising courteous and efficient staff who demonstrate helpfulness and warmth, whilst others describe dismissive, discourteous, and unhelpful interactions that have deterred them from continuing care at the practice.
Clinical care receives more consistent positive feedback, with patients frequently commending physicians for attentive listening, professional conduct, and compassionate communication. However, some patients report experiences of dismissive medical advice and perceived lack of proper examination. A notable pattern emerges regarding phone communication responsiveness, with multiple patients expressing frustration at engaged lines, dropped calls, and difficulty reaching the practice for urgent matters. Several long-standing patients have chosen to leave the practice citing cumulative frustration with access barriers, despite acknowledging the quality of doctors themselves.
The practice appears to face systemic challenges around appointment scheduling efficiency and telephone accessibility that significantly impact patient satisfaction, even where clinical care quality is recognised. Patients consistently highlight the need for improved communication systems, better management of appointment availability, and more responsive reception processes to address the gap between positive clinical experiences and negative administrative interactions.

Bad!
Terrible healthcare service that fails patients completely
Repeatedly, I've attempted to contact the medical practice, either by phone or in person, and on one occasion, I was so distressed that I experienced a panic attack, unable to catch my breath. The staff, who are meant to provide support, seem indifferent. It's more effective to rely on internet self-diagnosis than to navigate their unresponsive system. I've wasted an hour on hold without success, which is utterly frustrating. With my underactive thyroid, my medication is critical, and I cannot skip a single dose. Yet, the surgery consistently fails to send my prescription to the pharmacy on time. I'm seriously considering changing healthcare providers, but the alternative options appear equally unsatisfactory. 😞😞😞

Compassionate care at its absolute best
The team and physicians at St Pauls Clinic have been exceptional. I have experienced incredible kindness and support. The staff have demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and genuine concern. The two doctors I've consulted recently have truly exceeded expectations in making sure I receive the appropriate care and medical assistance. My sincere appreciation goes out to them.

Compassionate care for my poorly little girl
Good afternoon, I want to express my sincere thanks to St Paul's GP Clinic for their exceptional service today. This morning, I submitted an online E-consult for my 2-year-old daughter and was greeted by courteous, helpful receptionists who scheduled us an appointment at noon. The attending physician (whose name I unfortunately didn't note) was incredibly professional, attentively listening to my maternal concerns. She conducted a comprehensive examination of my daughter, confirming she was unwell despite appearing cheerful, and diagnosed her with tonsillitis, tachycardia, and a high fever of 39.1 after administering Calpol. The GP provided outstanding guidance and comfort, prescribing antibiotics and difflam spray as I requested. We collected the medication from the Handpost pharmacy, where the staff were equally fantastic - accommodating, friendly, and they even gave my daughter a lollipop to enjoy when she feels better. Considering the frequent criticism surrounding GP services and the NHS, I can personally attest that these healthcare professionals are truly remarkable, working diligently to deliver superior care under challenging conditions. Kind regards and many thanks,

Horrific healthcare with zero compassion or care
An absolute nightmare of a medical facility where every single staff member, from management down to nurses and doctors, displays a shocking lack of compassion and professionalism. These individuals are clearly unsuited to healthcare work, demonstrating zero empathy or understanding. The overwhelming consensus from other reviews confirms my experience of their abysmal service. It's deeply concerning that people entrusted with patient care could be so callous and detached. I strongly advise against bringing any vulnerable family members to this surgery, as the environment feels fundamentally unsafe. The staff's attitude is appalling, and they seem to have forgotten the basic principles of medical care. My next step is to file a comprehensive complaint with the regulatory body, as this level of indifference and potential negligence cannot be allowed to continue.

Negligent care nearly cost my husband's life
Absolutely terrible medical facility. My spouse struggled with respiratory issues for twelve months, deteriorating by October. The staff repeatedly dismissed his concerns, merely prescribing folic acid tablets without any proper medical assessment. Eventually, he was urgently hospitalized requiring valve replacement and a pacemaker. When he recently attempted to consult a physician, he was pushed off with a three-week waiting period. Moreover, when seeking his blood test results, he was instructed to complete additional paperwork. This healthcare center is so incompetent that animal clinics would provide superior care.

Exhausted pregnant patient endures endless waiting room
I visited the doctor while 8 months pregnant and was advised to come when possible, given I have a toddler and needed to arrange childcare. After securing care, I arrived at 12 pm. I provided a urine sample at home to expedite the process and then waited and waited. An hour passed without being seen. I approached the receptionist, who contacted the doctor about a pregnant woman waiting over an hour. I remained patient, but two hours elapsed. By then, I was overheated, parched, and experiencing back and leg pain from the extended wait due to my advanced pregnancy. The doctor emerged, preparing for a home visit when the receptionist reminded him about me. He had completely forgotten. Though he apologized three times and called me, it felt inappropriate to wait over two hours for a mere two-minute consultation. I had left my toddler with someone specifically to attend this appointment. Both the receptionist and doctor were pleasant, but the excessive waiting was unacceptable. I was exhausted, thirsty, and hungry, having missed lunch. This situation highlights a clear need for improved communication and patient management.

Terrible service from unprofessional medical receptionist
The front desk staff, with their supposed medical expertise, appear to believe that a pharmacy holds the cure-all for every health concern. There's utterly no value in seeking consultation, as the self-appointed medical gatekeeper (receptionist) will confidently recommend the chemist as the ultimate remedy. St.Pauls clinic is nothing short of a complete disaster.

Nightmare clinic with zero customer care
Absolutely the most terrible healthcare facility I've ever encountered. Their customer service is appallingly dismissive, repeatedly redirecting me to a pharmacy for issues they cannot resolve. I've been desperately seeking an emergency appointment since January, and here we are in March with zero progress. I've exhausted every communication channel - phone calls, in-person visits - yet I'm constantly met with endless excuses, delays, and referrals. Their call center seems intentionally designed to obstruct patient access to medical professionals. These staff members are so indifferent that they would likely ignore a patient in critical medical distress and simply redirect them elsewhere. The entire operation epitomizes unprofessionalism, demonstrating a complete lack of compassion and genuine commitment to patient care. Their approach is heartless and utterly unhelpful.

Terrible service and unprofessional nhs staff
The front desk staff deceived me, claiming I'd secure an appointment after submitting a negative PCR test, but then they conveniently "lost" the test results. To make matters worse, they abruptly terminated our phone call by hanging up mid-discussion, citing imminent closing time. Their conduct was utterly unprofessional and reflects poorly on the NHS's standard of service.

Terrible healthcare experience with endless waiting
Complete nonsense, I'm forced to be up at the crack of dawn just to spend the whole day tethered to my phone, anxiously anticipating a callback from the medical staff. I'm completely restricted from going about my day normally, constantly on edge about potentially missing their call, and if I do miss it, I'll have to go through the entire scheduling process all over again.

Heartless doctor dismisses sick and vulnerable child
Utterly disgraceful treatment of a vulnerable, ill child with disabilities by a medical professional after experiencing a seizure. His physical condition is deteriorating - unstable mobility, hair loss, and significant weight reduction. Despite calling 111 for urgent medical advice and being instructed to seek immediate attention, the doctor was dismissively rude. When I emphatically pointed out my son's obvious physical distress, the physician callously claimed there was no issue and refused to examine him. The doctor's only concession was a perfunctory offer to order a brain scan and stomach ultrasound before abruptly terminating the call, leaving me feeling completely helpless and frustrated.

Terrible service from a once-trusted medical practice
Getting an appointment or even reaching someone by phone has become utterly ridiculous. Despite being a loyal patient for three decades, the moment you finally connect, the staff are completely incompetent. What's the point of having a general practitioner if you can't communicate with or see them? I've been attempting to contact them for a fortnight, only to be repeatedly told to try again another day because they have just one doctor available, and only at the crack of dawn. The practice manager urgently needs to address these systemic problems. If others are experiencing comparable frustrations, I strongly recommend reaching out to the practice manager and potentially escalating to the health service ombudsman.
