Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a practice facing significant operational challenges alongside pockets of positive care experiences. Appointment access remains the most consistent concern, with patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by phone, extended waiting times for callbacks, and limited availability through both telephone and online booking systems. Phone system failures are particularly prevalent, with calls frequently disconnecting or going unanswered despite long waits. Reception experience varies considerably, with some patients praising compassionate and helpful staff while others describe dismissive or discourteous interactions. Communication breakdowns extend beyond initial contact, affecting prescription management, test result follow-up, and clarity around appointment details.

Where positive experiences emerge, they centre on supportive clinical care, with patients highlighting compassionate doctors and prompt medical assistance when appointments are secured. Several reviews commend the welcoming demeanor of reception staff and the professionalism of medical practitioners. However, these positive interactions are frequently overshadowed by the systemic barriers patients face in accessing care, with some noting a marked decline in service quality over recent years.

The practice appears to serve a large patient population, which staff acknowledge creates pressure on appointment availability and phone responsiveness. Patients express frustration that despite these constraints, basic operational systems remain dysfunctional, and some feel their concerns are not taken seriously or acted upon promptly. The overall picture suggests a practice struggling with capacity and organisation, where individual staff members may demonstrate genuine care but systemic issues prevent consistent, accessible service delivery.

Terrible service with frustrating phone system nightmare

Absolutely terrible service. They instruct you to schedule via phone, but it's a nightmare. You're stuck listening to endless pre-recorded messages, and after pressing the requested button, all you get are useless beeps.

Dangerous healthcare that risks patient safety

Shockingly subpar performance that falls far below the professional benchmarks for a medical practice. I consistently advise patients to seek alternative healthcare providers, as I am deeply convinced that this facility's operational methods pose significant risks to patient safety.

Frustrating customer service fails to respect communication needs

Despite my explicit preference for email and text communication, clearly marked as Deaf, they persisted in attempting to contact me via voice call. I'm certain I even selected the option to withhold consent for voice calls or messages, yet they disregarded my explicit instructions. Such blatant disrespect and lack of professionalism is astounding.

Impossible to schedule an appointment with this practice

I've been attempting to secure an appointment for weeks now, with two phone consultations where I detailed my struggle to even reach the queue system. Each time I call, the line disconnects immediately after selecting the correct option. When I try later in the day, there are always at least 10 calls ahead of me, which I can't wait for due to work commitments. The doctor promised to arrange an appointment during our phone call, but this only resulted in the reception sending another text instructing me to call at 8:30. Today, I've made six separate attempts without success. It's become increasingly clear that there's absolutely no value in paying my taxes, and I'll likely need to seek out a private GP instead.

Worst Healthcare Experience Ever Wasted My Time

Completely unacceptable scheduling process. Expect to waste two hours on hold before anyone even answers the phone. Once you finally get through, booking a doctor's appointment becomes impossible. The front desk staff are incredibly discourteous. An utterly disastrous experience from start to finish.

Terrible service and unhelpful medical staff nightmare

Been struggling to secure a medical consultation for what feels like forever. My health issue is critically pressing and deteriorating rapidly. The front desk staff merely offer sympathetic smiles and apologetic responses. A physician actually reached out and directed the receptionist to schedule an in-person consultation, but predictably, she dismissed the request!! I desperately want to switch healthcare providers.

Negligent doctors failed my mother's health care

I've downgraded my previous 5-star rating to a mere 2 stars for your nursing staff. As I compose this review, our mother is hospitalized for the third consecutive night, battling a severe bladder infection that has now progressed to her kidneys. She had been experiencing pain for over a month, enduring multiple telephone consultations with the doctor and several rounds of antibiotics, for a condition they claimed did not exist. Clearly, diagnostic accuracy is impossible through a phone screen. Your physicians have been utterly ineffective, and I will be pursuing further action, potentially involving the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. I'm deeply concerned about how many patients have been neglected through remote consultations. It's absolutely critical to resume in-person patient examinations and discontinue these phone appointments. When a patient reports persistent pain lasting a month, they should unquestionably be granted a face-to-face medical evaluation. While COVID is no longer a significant barrier, a blood cancer patient suffering in pain and now hospitalized represents a serious failure attributable to your medical staff. Profoundly disappointing

Friendly doctors make healthcare a pleasant experience

Every medical professional I've encountered has been extremely friendly. While it can be challenging to reach someone early in the day, this isn't a constant issue. If necessary, they'll arrange for a physician to call you back later that same day, or for routine consultations, you might typically need to schedule about a month in advance. The doctors and nursing staff have consistently been very pleasant. Unfortunately, I now must switch healthcare providers due to relocating from the area, and I'm hopeful my new practice will be equally welcoming.

Frustrating nhs app fails patients seeking urgent care

Attempting to schedule a consultation through the NHS app is futile, as no appointments are accessible for the next 16 weeks! When you attempt to book early in the morning by telephone, there's no response. I urgently require a medication review since I've been prescribed a drug that's completely unavailable, and I'm unable to communicate with a physician. As a result, I'm left without any medication.

Negligent gp practice causing serious health harm

The sheer incompetence of this medical practice and its doctors has reached an unacceptable level. A male GP deceived me by claiming he submitted my gynecological referral as urgent, only for me to discover I'm still waiting nearly a year without an appointment. Today, the hospital revealed that the GP marked my referral as routine, resulting in a minimum 72-week wait, and they didn't even receive the referral until May 2022, despite my issue being raised in January 2022. I was forced to consult a female GP with more compassion, who has now submitted an urgent referral. Enduring almost a year of constant pain and nearly becoming incontinent due to a large ovarian cyst is absolutely unacceptable and should never have been disregarded! This isn't the first instance of negligence from this practice. They previously provided incorrect medical information to the DVLA, causing me to lose my driver's license last year. Their attempts to rectify the mistake were futile, and I've suffered irreparable damage with no compensation for losing a license I'd held for a decade. Avoid this practice at all costs. I'm seriously considering legal action for both instances of negligence. Losing my license was bad enough, but being negligent towards a woman with reproductive health issues is completely unacceptable! Perhaps they should reconsider allowing male GPs to handle sensitive appointments if they're so clearly incompetent. I will be changing medical practices and reporting this surgery to the medical ombudsman for the second time.

Exceptional healthcare with compassionate and attentive staff

I cannot express enough how warm and inviting this medical practice has been for me. The front desk staff consistently demonstrate exceptional kindness and assistance during phone interactions, while the medical professionals have consistently shown empathy and encouragement. I would enthusiastically endorse this practice to anyone. When I initially registered in 2020 after relocating to the area, I harbored some doubts due to the less-than-stellar online feedback. However, I can confidently say that I have never experienced being overlooked, disappointed, or treated without respect. Despite their high patient volume, which can potentially strain the staff, I've observed that they maintain a remarkable ability to ensure patient care is never compromised.

Impossible to reach healthcare nightmare

This situation is absurd. Securing a phone consultation requires waiting nearly a fortnight, and that's only if you dial precisely when the clinic begins operations. Yet, even then, the phone remains unanswered regardless of how long you hold. Such inefficiency inevitably places additional strain on emergency services as patients are unable to receive timely medical attention. I've just wasted 40 minutes of my life with absolutely no progress or resolution.
