Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas of the practice. Medical staff, including doctors and nurses, consistently receive praise for compassionate care, thorough consultations, and professional expertise. Vaccination services have been particularly well-received, with patients noting efficient queue management and courteous staff. However, appointment scheduling emerges as a persistent challenge, with patients reporting difficulties reaching the practice by phone, lengthy waiting times to connect, and frustration with same-day-only booking systems that prove impractical for those in employment. Reception experience is similarly inconsistent, with some patients describing staff as welcoming and helpful whilst others report dismissive or disrespectful behaviour.

Communication and responsiveness present ongoing concerns, particularly regarding medication management, prescription processing delays, and follow-up contact. Several patients describe registration processes as complicated and poorly coordinated, with lost documents and unclear next steps. Waiting times for appointments, once secured, are generally accepted when patients understand this reflects thorough clinical attention, though some report feeling rushed during consultations. The practice lacks an online booking system, which patients identify as a significant gap in modern service provision.

When patients successfully access clinical care, satisfaction levels are notably high, with many expressing gratitude for attentive listening and individualised treatment. The disconnect appears most acute between reception access barriers and the quality of care once appointments are obtained, suggesting organisational and communication improvements could substantially enhance overall patient experience.

Disappointing service from once-reliable medical practice

A medical practice that has clearly deteriorated from its previous standards. I submitted a prescription on Wednesday with the expectation of collecting it on Thursday. By Friday, when I followed up, I was informed the prescription would now be ready on Monday. Meanwhile, I've completely exhausted my medication supply and have been callously told that I simply "must wait" - an unacceptable response that demonstrates a complete lack of patient care.

Great care and compassion at this medical practice

My surgical experience was exceptional, with absolutely no room for criticism. The front desk staff, particularly Rebecca, was incredibly courteous and professional, handling everything with a welcoming demeanor. The wait time was minimal, and the waiting area, while simple, was quite comfortable. Dr. Robin was particularly impressive; she took the time to truly listen and understand my concerns before formulating her diagnosis. Her approach was warm and compassionate, demonstrating both medical expertise and genuine empathy. I felt completely confident that she was fully committed to my well-being. The entire practice—from the staff to the doctor—was outstanding. I sincerely wish more medical facilities could operate with such high standards of care and professionalism.

Dangerous healthcare with zero patient concern

A complete disaster. Their ineptitude is endangering patients, and they show absolutely no concern! I have yet to encounter a single staff member at this practice who demonstrates any genuine commitment to patient care or professional responsibility. If you're hoping to find someone who takes their job seriously, you'll likely be disappointed as I was. Steer clear of this place if you can!

Loyal patient praises st peters surgery for decades

I've been registered with this medical practice for close to three decades, and I can honestly say I've experienced very few issues. While appointment availability can sometimes be challenging, I attribute this to systemic healthcare pressures rather than the surgery itself. Throughout my interactions, from delivering my daughter 28 years ago to my current more frequent medical consultations due to age-related health concerns, I've consistently received exceptional care from both doctors and nursing staff. The level of professionalism has been outstanding. The reception team have always been courteous and helpful, frequently going above and beyond to assist patients. Although the online E-consult system occasionally experiences brief interruptions, these are never prolonged or significantly disruptive. I remain thoroughly satisfied with St Peters surgery. The consistently high-quality care and lack of substantial problems have kept me loyal to this practice, and I anticipate continuing my relationship with them for the foreseeable future.

Worst medical experience ever rushed and dismissive

I visited for a medical consultation, and the physician was completely dismissive. She consistently interrupted me and showed zero interest in my medical history. Throughout the entire appointment, she dominated the conversation, talking rapidly without allowing me to fully describe my symptoms or concerns. Her lack of attentiveness and apparent disregard for my health made me feel completely unheard and frustrated.

Exceptional healthcare with compassionate and professional staff

I'm truly at a loss for words to express how outstanding this medical practice is. Having been registered here for a decade, I've consistently received exceptional care from every single staff member - from doctors and nurses to receptionists and support personnel - always precisely when and how I needed it, regardless of the circumstances. In my opinion, this is undoubtedly the finest healthcare facility in the United Kingdom. They consistently address inquiries and provide immediate assistance. I can only express my deepest gratitude and hope that their remarkable team of professionals and their incredibly friendly approach becomes a benchmark for medical practices nationwide. Despite the high volume of registered patients and diverse demands, they somehow manage to provide unwavering support with genuine warmth and compassionate understanding. Their ability to maintain such a high standard of care is truly remarkable. 🙏

Unprofessional and dangerous healthcare provider exposed

Alison Robins is an incredibly hazardous healthcare professional who declined to authorize medication suggested by a hospital consultant. Her approach seems exclusively driven by financial gain and poses significant risks. During our interaction, she demonstrated an appalling lack of understanding and compassion. When I clarified that I hadn't consulted a GP in nearly a year, she arbitrarily claimed I must have seen one during a flu vaccination - which I received at a pharmacy, not a medical practice. She adamantly refused a face-to-face consultation, preferring to make diagnoses remotely without proper examination. Her ultimate recommendation was for me to visit the emergency department, after which she abruptly terminated our call. Her conduct was anything but professional - in fact, it was shockingly unprofessional and dismissive, displaying a complete disregard for patient care and medical responsibility.

Smooth and efficient covid vaccination experience

My spouse and I reserved our coronavirus immunizations via the internet for the previous day, and the medical staff at the clinic were exceptionally welcoming and competent. The entire process, from standing in line to providing personal information and sitting down to await our turn, was seamless. Their operational procedure was impressively streamlined, and full praise goes to the personnel working that day.

Terrible service and incompetent medical staff

This medical practice is utterly disgraceful. Every time I submit my prescription, they consistently fail to transfer all but a single item, which happens to be critically important. Attempting to discuss the issue with the receptionist proves futile, as she's extremely discourteous and stubbornly maintains that their email address is accurate when it clearly isn't. I've been wasting an entire day waiting for the physician to authorize my medication to be sent to the pharmacy.

Disorganized covid jab center wastes my time

Visited this location to receive my COVID vaccinations. The level of disorganization was absolutely mind-boggling. Despite having a scheduled time of 7:20, I wasn't seen until 7:50. The appointment system seems completely pointless when they're simultaneously accommodating walk-in patients. I'm immensely relieved this isn't my regular medical practice.

Frustrating phone system ruins healthcare experience

Despite the medical staff's competence, scheduling an appointment via telephone is incredibly challenging. I found myself trapped in a seemingly endless queue, subjected to unbearable background music, while attempting to book a consultation for my child. Ultimately, I abandoned my efforts and dispatched my spouse to the clinic to secure the appointment in person.

Nightmare medical practice with terrible customer service

Undoubtedly the most poorly managed medical practice in Southampton. Complaints are universal among patients. The reception staff are consistently unhelpful, dismissing patients with instructions to call back in a week, while forcing individuals to endure interminable queues exceeding an hour - seemingly hoping patients will simply give up and disappear. The entire operation is appallingly mismanaged, representing a complete embarrassment to the NHS. This practice epitomizes the systemic failures within healthcare, desperately requiring comprehensive investigation. They are fundamentally neglecting patient care and displaying absolute indifference to their responsibilities.

Incompetent st peters clinic ruined my chlamydia test

I'm not typically someone who writes reviews everywhere, but this situation absolutely warrants one. My clinic instructed me to get a chlamydia test at St. Peters GP, which should be a straightforward urine sample procedure. Incredibly, I've attempted this simple test 4 TIMES, and each time they've rejected my sample. This is completely unacceptable!!! I've never encountered such unprofessional staff who seem incapable of learning from their repeated errors. I'm now forced to spend £100 at a private clinic for this test (my 5th attempt) because I cannot tolerate this incompetence any longer! St. Peters is undoubtedly the MOST TERRIBLE GP practice in Southampton!!!

Rushed and dismissed by uncaring healthcare professional

I attended my medical consultation today, and the physician claimed there were numerous issues with my health, but he lacked the opportunity to thoroughly discuss them due to his packed schedule. I explained that I had been attempting to schedule this appointment for weeks, and now that I was finally here, he seemed unwilling to listen. The doctor responded that he hears this complaint frequently and needed to draft a letter after my visit, with other patients waiting in the reception area. My entire consultation lasted barely 10 minutes.
