Patient Experience Summary

Patients consistently report severe challenges accessing appointments at this practice, with extended waiting times on phone lines and unavailable slots even when calling at opening hours. The booking experience is frequently described as frustrating, with many unable to secure consultations despite multiple attempts, and some facing waits of several weeks. Reception experience emerges as a significant concern, with patients reporting discourteous interactions, poor communication, and staff appearing unhelpful or dismissive of patient needs. In contrast, when patients do access clinical care, medical professionals and nursing staff receive praise for professionalism and compassion. The practice environment is noted as clean and well-maintained. However, the administrative barriers to accessing care appear to be creating substantial patient frustration and contributing to wider healthcare system pressures, with some patients resorting to alternative services or changing providers entirely.

Communication issues extend beyond reception interactions, with patients reporting failures in appointment reminders, prescription notifications, and follow-up care coordination. Several patients describe feeling unable to reach the practice by phone, with calls going unanswered or long hold times before slots are reported as fully booked. The contrast between the practice's ability to send vaccination reminders and its difficulty in managing routine appointment access has been noted by patients as inconsistent.

While individual clinical encounters have been positive for some patients, the overall service experience is undermined by access difficulties and reception courtesy concerns. The practice appears to have experienced a decline in service quality since the pandemic, with patients noting reduced appointment availability and increased reliance on phone consultations rather than in-person visits.

Frustrating access to care at local surgery

Completely frustrated with accessing care here. Blocked at the initial reception stage, with zero appointment availability. Instructed to use their online system, which I did, only to discover I'm now facing a week-long wait for even a telephone consultation. The medical staff are excellent, but the practice's administrative process is fundamentally broken and extremely inefficient.

Worst customer service ever wasting my time

Absolutely dreadful. The phone wait times are endless, and I've personally witnessed why that's the case. Rather than addressing customer calls, the staff members are busy engaging in casual conversations among themselves. During my most recent experience, I was the sole caller in the queue, yet still had to wait a staggering 40 minutes for a response.

Frustrating surgery with impossible appointment system

I've been a patient at this surgery for years. Once, I might have defended them without hesitation, but those days are clearly behind me. Attempting to book an appointment is an exercise in frustration: 1) Call at 8AM 2) Repeatedly encounter a busy signal 3) Eventually get into a queue 4) Finally reach someone only to be told all slots are gone and to try again tomorrow. I could accept this as a common issue, but today's experience was completely unacceptable. I was 27th in the queue, so I used their callback feature. Sounds convenient, right? Except they called for what felt like a mere moment before hanging up, then immediately sent an automated message claiming I missed their call. I'm not exaggerating - the phone barely rang before disconnecting. It seems every time I need to make an appointment, they devise new ways to complicate the process. While I'm grateful I don't require frequent medical attention, I'm seriously considering finding another surgery. My patience has worn extremely thin.

Terrible service during critical pregnancy health concerns

I'm thoroughly dissatisfied with my medical care! Currently 32 weeks pregnant! I had blood drawn for my midwife approximately 3 weeks back! Just last week on Thursday she noted I require iron supplementation! On Friday I contacted the hospital explaining my fatigue and poor health! They advised me to ring the surgery and inquire about iron! When I called, the receptionist claimed they would text the doctor! It's now Monday and I'm still without vitamins! I'll be waiting 2 weeks for blood results, and then additional time for vitamin prescription! This is absolutely ridiculous! I'm convinced my baby might arrive before I even receive the iron supplements I desperately need!

Terrible medical service with zero patient care

My 4-year-old developed a severe cough, and as a last resort, I decided to seek professional medical advice after exhausting all home remedies. I attempted to secure an appointment by calling the moment they opened. At 7:57, an automated system rejected my call, claiming the service wasn't available. Mysteriously, by 8:00, I was 30th in the queue. How is it possible to have over 30 calls in just one minute? Their technology seems suspiciously sophisticated. After waiting over 40 minutes, someone answered and simply stated they were fully booked. I must emphasize this isn't a small village practice with limited patients, but a town medical center. What infuriated me further was the receptionist's complete lack of professionalism. She hastily tried to end the call without listening to my concerns. Only when I mentioned my child's age did her attitude slightly shift, suggesting I call 111. Their approach is consistently unhelpful - every interaction ends with "call back tomorrow" and doctors who seemingly rely more on Google than medical expertise. Their complaint process is equally frustrating. You can't even submit feedback online and must appear in person. They can't accommodate emergency patients but expect you to physically visit to lodge a complaint. I attempted to update my personal details, completed all required paperwork, and was assured changes would be processed within a week. Surprisingly, three months later, they contacted me requesting additional passport documentation. I strongly advise anyone, especially parents, to avoid this practice. Their incompetence and attitude are absolutely unacceptable.

Frustrating healthcare with endless waiting and poor service

Scheduling appointments is a nightmare. You're looking at a four-week wait just to go over lab findings. They provide zero commitment on precise appointment times and simply contact you at their convenience. Getting through to reception involves endless waiting. Ironically, when you finally secure an appointment, the waiting area is completely empty. Deeply regretting my decision to register with this medical practice.

Frustrating healthcare system with caring doctors

Securing a consultation with a general practitioner is incredibly challenging, with appointment availability being far from satisfactory. When I've successfully booked a slot, the physician has been exceptional. The core issue now is that patients struggle to obtain timely appointments, leading to increased emergency department visits and subsequently overwhelming hospital staff who are completely stretched thin. My medical practice was remarkably persistent in sending text message reminders about flu vaccinations to my spouse and myself - which seems curious. There appears to be no difficulty in communication for these specific notifications, and I'm genuinely intrigued to understand the underlying reasons for this discrepancy.

Terrible service and zero doctor availability

terrible customer service I phoned early morning and received a return call just 10 minutes later, only to be informed that all available appointments had vanished within mere moments. They suggested calling 111, which is completely useless. It's ridiculous how quickly the doctors' slots get filled up, leaving patients with no options.

Frustrating experience with impossible doctor's appointment

I'm frustrated with the medical practice's lack of availability. This morning, I was fourth in line when they finally picked up the phone, only to be told no appointments were left. It's become clear that calling 111 is far more efficient, as they managed to arrange a doctor's callback within two hours. As a result, I'm actively seeking to change my healthcare provider.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs

These medical professionals are completely ineffective. In 13 months, I've consulted two doctors and experienced nothing but frustration. Their communication is terrible - you can't reach anyone, and when they suggest calling back at 8am, it's clearly impossible. Waiting in line doesn't guarantee an appointment. The staff are incredibly disrespectful, rude, and demoralizing. They brazenly announce personal medical details in front of other patients waiting in the area. I strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to stay away. If you request a callback, prepare to wait up to three weeks (in my case, two weeks), only to discover they've attempted to contact an outdated phone number. It's absolutely unacceptable - even cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse and Pluto would provide better healthcare. This place is a complete disaster.

Frustrating medical practice with terrible customer service

I'm fully aware that your medical practice is hectic, but the repetitive 8 AM phone routine claiming no available appointments except emergencies is frustrating. Your receptionists seem to believe they can arbitrarily determine what constitutes an emergency, despite lacking medical training. I attempted to schedule an advance appointment, only to be told that's not possible. This contradicts the letter you sent instructing me to book a doctor consultation regarding my prescribed medications. These medications are critical - depression tablets, asthma inhalers, steroid creams for severe skin conditions - and without a doctor's consultation, I cannot continue receiving them. Not everyone has the luxury of being available at 8 AM every morning, as some of us must work to earn a living, just like your staff. The service is absolutely unacceptable, and I will definitely be seeking healthcare elsewhere!!!
