The personnel here display a lack of professionalism and competence, failing to perform even fundamental tasks while casually socializing, demonstrating zero accountability and neglecting to verify their work, which leads to patients becoming completely overlooked in their administrative processes. You're essentially interacting with a robotic system where employees merely complete perfunctory checkboxes, devoid of genuine human connection or empathy. The National Health Service is truly a disorganized shambles. While I acknowledge the immense stress staff experience and that errors are inevitable, when such incompetence becomes systematic and potentially carries grave medical implications, it becomes critical to voice concerns - otherwise, absolutely nothing will ever improve.

Terrible mental health service with zero compassion

I would absolutely rate this zero stars if possible!! The front desk staff are incredibly discourteous and their leadership is equally terrible… I've been battling mental health challenges for years and when I called, I was informed I'd need to wait an entire month for an appointment. Upon calling again, they attempted to compel me to see a different physician, insisting I have no alternative if I want treatment. Then I received a call from management, JAMES FOSTER, who accused me of being disrespectful and rude, claiming they have hundreds of patients with anxiety but I'm somehow the only one causing problems. He even stated they have witnesses who heard my conversation with the receptionist, which immediately reveals that our calls are absolutely NOT confidential! It's abundantly clear they lack proper training for handling patients with mental health issues, and I find their entire approach completely unacceptable. Even months later, they continue to penalize me for this review and my previous complaints about them cancelling and redistributing the appointments I desperately need.

Over the last six weeks, the reception personnel at both Newmarket Road and St Stephensgate Surgeries have consistently demonstrated kindness, professionalism, and efficiency. I have felt genuinely heard and never pressured during my interactions. The nursing team handling my blood tests, gynecological concerns, and blood pressure checks were wonderfully reassuring. They maintained a calm demeanor, provided comprehensive explanations, and ensured my complete understanding before proceeding with any procedures. Dr. Bosworth has been particularly considerate, personally calling me twice to discuss and clarify my blood test results. I deeply appreciate the unhurried manner in which you approach patient care, the clarity of your explanations, and your attentive listening. Caring doctors make all the difference in healthcare

Despite the parking challenges (mum struggles with elevators), we are truly impressed with this medical practice. Every aspect, from the welcoming receptionists to the responsive call-back system and the exceptional physicians, has been outstanding. The doctor proactively visited my dad at home (without us initiating contact), repeatedly offered mum same-day appointments, and then personally came to see her, spending considerable time providing reassurance. In stark comparison, when we contacted our previous doctors (not in Norwich) back in September, they could only offer a phone consultation on November 3rd!! Absolutely exceptional service.

I've been with this surgical practice for an extended period, and their quality of care has drastically declined. In recent years, they've consistently mishandled my prescription orders, and the front desk staff are incredibly unhelpful. Whenever I attempt to reach out and speak directly with a physician, my calls go unanswered. At this point, you're essentially left to manage your own medical needs through self-medication, since obtaining any meaningful assistance seems impossible.

Heartbreaking neglect of vulnerable elderly patient

I am deeply distressed and outraged by the complete disregard and indifference shown by this medical practice towards my elderly mother. Recently discharged from hospital after kidney failure, she has multiple health challenges, including an ulcerated foot requiring continuous assessment and treatment. Her condition has significantly deteriorated since leaving the hospital, with her foot becoming increasingly painful, swollen, and inflamed - a serious concern for a diabetic patient at risk of infection. For three consecutive days, I've been desperately contacting the surgery seeking assistance. Initially, the receptionist seemed understanding, and after consulting a duty physician, they agreed my mother needed a home visit for assessment and wound care. While an assessment occurred with promises of a nurse visiting to dress her foot, these promises repeatedly went unfulfilled. Despite multiple phone calls and assurances, no nurse arrived. The medical staff seemingly believe that because my mother previously managed to reach the surgery before her kidney failure, she remains capable of doing so now. This is completely incorrect. She has experienced twenty-one falls and is extremely unsteady. Her husband, suffering from Alzheimer's and currently hospitalized after a fall, has further heightened her anxiety. She is now alone, terrified, and desperately seeking help. A long-standing patient since the eighties, she is now essentially housebound and deserving of home care. Her complex medical history - diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, frequent falls, kidney failure, compromised lungs, carotid blockage, back pain, and heightened anxiety - seemingly disqualifies her from receiving a home visit. As a patient who has always been cooperative and considerate, I am profoundly distressed by this apparent negligence and abdication of medical responsibility. Regrettably, this reflects the current state of our healthcare system, and I feel compelled to file a formal complaint with NHS England on my mother's behalf.
