Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a deeply polarised experience at this practice, with stark contrasts between clinical and administrative service quality. Medical professionals, including doctors and nursing staff, receive consistent praise for professionalism, expertise, and compassionate care. However, reception experience emerges as a significant concern, with multiple patients reporting discourtesy, dismissiveness, and lack of respect during interactions. This disparity between clinical and administrative standards is particularly notable.

Appointment access presents the most widespread challenge across feedback. Patients describe lengthy telephone waiting times, difficulty securing slots, and frustration with booking systems. The practice has implemented online booking and callback options, which some patients report have improved accessibility, though phone-based booking remains problematic for many. Communication issues extend beyond appointment scheduling, with reports of poor phone line quality, delayed medication approvals, and inadequate responsiveness to patient concerns.

Positive feedback highlights the practice's cleanliness standards, recent facility improvements, and availability of additional services including physiotherapy and specialist referrals. Long-standing patients often express appreciation for continuity of care and clinical quality. However, these strengths are substantially undermined by persistent concerns about reception courtesy, appointment availability, and overall accessibility, which appear to be systemic issues requiring attention.

Worst medical practice ever shocking customer treatment

This medical practice is absolutely deplorable. It's shocking that despite numerous negative reviews, absolutely no improvements have been made! The front desk staff are incredibly disrespectful, and I demand an explanation from the practice manager about how they can permit such abusive treatment of ill, older, and vulnerable patients. I've personally witnessed them ridiculing individuals, making discriminatory remarks, and causing people to leave in distress. The NHS absolutely needs to be alerted to these unacceptable behaviors!

Terrible customer service ruins entire experience

Staff at the front desk were completely unaccommodating, and after spending nearly a quarter-hour waiting on hold, I was summarily dismissed without any meaningful assistance.

Terrible service with unfair appointment cancellation policy

Steer clear of this place!!!! They claimed I forfeited my appointment due to arriving 20 minutes past the scheduled time, yet I had been standing in the check-in line for no less than 20 minutes beforehand.

Great!

Professional care with improved booking system

Throughout my two-year history with this medical center, I've consulted with seven distinct general practitioners who have consistently demonstrated professionalism. Admittedly, the front desk staff can come across as somewhat abrupt, but their approach seems focused on maintaining streamlined patient management. Previously, securing an appointment involved lengthy telephone waits, but the recent implementation of an online booking platform has dramatically improved accessibility, making it significantly easier to schedule consultations when necessary.

Poor!

Caring staff let down by awful reception service

The medical professionals like doctors and nurses are excellent, but the front desk personnel are absolutely dreadful. They consistently mess up repeat medication requests and aggressively push unnecessary consultations purely to meet their performance metrics.

Terrible service from rude and unprofessional staff

I visited the clinic to schedule an appointment, extremely ill (two-day fever, voiceless, experiencing vomiting and diarrhea), and encountered a receptionist who was discourteous and unprofessional. When I challenged her rudeness, she loudly proclaimed in the reception area, 'I cannot deal with this woman', refusing to book my appointment. Another staff member stepped forward to assist and provided me with some forms to complete. Upon returning to the GP, the same receptionist who previously refused to help me now greeted me with an exaggerated, insincere smile and mocking laughter, shouting 'can I help you?' The entire interaction felt surreal and borderline unstable. I have never felt such profound shame in being human. Philosophers and thinkers have long explored 'the human condition', attempting to understand how seemingly decent individuals can display such profound contempt, aggression, and emotional cruelty. Our species seems destined for failure unless we can establish a fundamental level of respect, compassion, and understanding in our most basic interactions. My encounter with the Stamford Hill Practice receptionist has left me with an overwhelming sense of despair and a deep, visceral disgust with humanity.

Terrible healthcare experience with outdated medical facility

A truly disappointing healthcare facility that falls short in nearly every aspect, particularly for patients with medical challenges. Their systems are archaic, lacking any meaningful technological integration or comprehensive information exchange beyond rudimentary blood test processes - and even those are frequently mishandled. The front desk staff can be embarrassingly unprofessional, creating an additional layer of frustration. It's genuinely disheartening that this medical center seems completely disconnected from modern healthcare standards and appears to have no intention of improving their outdated practices.

Terrible service and frustrating healthcare experience

If I could, I'd rate this zero stars without hesitation!!! The service is completely nonexistent! You're forced to call precisely at 8am or endure standing outdoors in the rain, desperately trying to secure an appointment. The more people complain, the NHS might potentially take action, but engaging with the GP management is utterly futile.

Terrible service and rude medical staff nightmare

The staff here are incredibly discourteous. They desperately need comprehensive retraining or should be replaced entirely. Getting an appointment with my own physician always turns into a confrontational interaction with the front desk personnel. I consistently inform the staff that I record all communications to prevent future misunderstandings, especially after being offered a distant appointment three weeks out and being told my medical concern wasn't precisely an emergency. What actual medical expertise do these receptionists possess?? I explicitly stated it was an urgent matter, yet they initially insisted on scheduling me weeks later. I pointedly reminded them that I document all calls and that any potential consequences would be their responsibility. I was then instructed to hold... and miraculously, a sudden cancellation appointment became available. (The entire situation is absolutely absurd)

Worst healthcare experience in my entire life

The personnel here are incredibly discourteous. I was welcomed with a scowl and condescended to throughout my entire interaction. They treat patients as if our mere presence is an irritation. When I asked for my NHS number, I was reprimanded for not having writing materials ready during the explanation. It might seem trivial, but in the 22 years I've been registered here, every single visit has been subpar. I'm relieved to be switching to a different GP practice.
