I've had to schedule several appointments for various issues and have consulted multiple doctors and nurses, all of whom have been exceptional. This morning at 8 am, I called and was able to secure an in-person appointment on the same day, which makes me puzzled about the negative feedback regarding their system. I recently underwent surgery and, as a retired qualified nurse, I found myself in need of urgent care. Unfortunately, I could not secure an appointment with the nurse quickly enough to get new dressings; the wait was two weeks. To mitigate this situation, I am willing to manage my own wound care. However, I was quite disappointed by the receptionist's demeanor when she refused to provide her full name, only mentioning it was Liz. Despite explaining my circumstances—caring for a husband with brain damage while trying to maintain composure—the receptionist showed no understanding or compassion. This behavior is truly disgraceful.

Terrible service and impossible to book appointments

Attempted to contact the surgery 31 times this morning starting at 8am, with each call being disconnected or met with a "too busy" message. When I finally got through at 8:14 am, the receptionist informed me no appointments were available, a situation that has persisted for the past fortnight. I strongly advise against wasting your time with this practice - they demonstrate complete indifference to patient needs. Upon requesting to speak with another staff member, I was told no one was available. The phone staff appeared young and dismissive. If possible, I would rate this experience lower than the minimum rating allowed.

Poor Service: Diagnosis Issues and Rude Receptionists

Outstanding

The whole team at Stonebridge Surgery are outstanding and deliver an exceptional level of care and service, consistently going above and beyond to help in any and every way they can. Without exception, every member of the practice team, nursing team, and GP team is incredibly lovely, kind, considerate, and empathetic. They always take their time to listen, they reassure where they can, and they truly act within the best interests of their patients under their care. I have complex health needs and have been under the care of many, many health professionals and teams for the last 40 years (since I was a young child). I honestly don't give high praise lightly. In particular, I can't even find the words to articulate just how much praise and gratitude I have for Dr Taylor. There are many, many wonderful GPs; but she really is a shining light. I feel unbelievably lucky and hugely grateful for all that she has done, and continues to do, to look after my health and wellbeing. THANK YOU Stonebridge Surgery. Pregnant Patient Denied Urgent Care By Receptionist

It’s truly appalling. I called each day this week, only to learn on Friday that they cannot schedule me until the 28th of September. By 8:15 am, all appointments were already booked, and the only option they provided was a telephone consultation in more than three weeks. Considering that I am currently 22 weeks pregnant, it is hard to comprehend why the receptionist did not view my situation as urgent.

Terrible Surgery Experience: Avoid at All Costs

I switched to this medical practice six weeks ago, and the only positive aspect I can highlight is the staff at the reception. I paid £120 for a private medical examination required for my recent adoption application, but it took five weeks for the doctor to forward the necessary documentation to my social worker. They even sent off my stool sample without checking it for blood—a key reason why it was requested in light of some stomach concerns—forcing me to repeat that test. I've sent multiple emails requesting full access to patient records (which I had with my previous clinic), yet they have not replied. Today, I visited and showed a student physician a rash on my leg; unfortunately, he could not identify what it was and did not suggest any treatments or creams. The final straw came when I discovered they do not handle group 2 medicals, which meant that if I stayed any longer at their office, I'd risk losing my driving job. Overall, this surgery has been exceedingly disappointing—consider yourself warned against choosing this practice!
