Patient feedback reveals a practice experiencing significant operational challenges alongside pockets of clinical excellence. Appointment access remains a persistent concern, with patients reporting prolonged waiting times for phone consultations, difficulty securing bookings, and inconsistent availability of same-day slots. Reception experience is notably polarised: some patients praise courteous and helpful staff, while others describe dismissive attitudes, poor communication, and unresponsiveness to requests. Administrative organisation shows gaps in prescription handling, patient record accuracy, and follow-up care coordination. Several patients experienced inadequate continuity of care, including missed home visits and delayed responses to urgent medical needs.
Positive experiences centre on clinical care quality, particularly from specific practitioners who demonstrate attentive listening, compassionate engagement, and thorough examination. Patients value consultations where doctors take time to explain conditions clearly and involve them in treatment decisions. Recent improvements to the booking system, including callback options rather than extended hold times, have been noted as beneficial changes. Walk-in services and same-day appointment availability when accessible are appreciated.
The practice appears to be in transition, with reception improvements and dedicated management changes underway. However, consistency remains an issue: while some patients report excellent care experiences, others describe encounters with staff perceived as dismissive or disorganised. Patients emphasise that initial reception interactions significantly influence their overall confidence in the service, and that professional courtesy combined with genuine responsiveness would substantially improve the patient experience.

Terrible healthcare experience with endless frustrating delays
What an absolute nightmare!!! My spouse is battling knee discomfort and is currently rehabilitating from a stroke. He's been stuck waiting an entire month for a knee scan referral, and today he was told there are zero available appointments, with instructions to retry calling tomorrow. His initial contact with the clinic occurred immediately after his hospital discharge (on a Thursday). At that time, he was promised a doctor's callback on Monday. While he received pain medication, he was completely abandoned otherwise. No scan referral, no rheumatologist recommendation - despite explicit hospital guidance to pursue these steps!!!!! Worst medical service ever avoid at all costs
If I could award zero rating points, I absolutely would. The general practice's service is abysmal. Major warning to potential patients: steer clear of calling between 11am and 12:30 in the afternoon. Evidently, they completely close down for what seems like a lunch break. Anyone dialing during this window will find themselves trapped in a perpetual queue, only to have their call unceremoniously dropped when the office supposedly reopens at 12:30. I personally experienced being eighth in line from 11:04 until 12:30 - how ridiculous is that? Simply outrageous and completely unacceptable. The level of customer service is nothing short of appalling.

Quick and caring medical attention today
Exceptional care across the board from this medical practice today, spanning their triage process, front desk staff, and physician. After submitting my triage request shortly after 9am, I was promptly scheduled for a consultation with Dr. Iqbal in the afternoon. The doctor demonstrated remarkable professionalism, attentively hearing my medical concerns and articulating a clear treatment strategy. Throughout the entire interaction, I felt completely confident and well-supported.

Worst medical experience ever with terrible staff
Utterly disastrous customer service, with one receptionist perpetually glued to the phone and the other displaying an appalling attitude that screams complete disinterest. The front desk staff are incredibly unwelcoming, consistently giving off vibes that they'd rather be anywhere else but serving patients. The doctors are equally terrible - I meticulously scheduled an appointment two weeks ahead with a referral letter, only to have the GP stare blankly and ask why I was even there. The total lack of communication between reception and medical staff is mind-boggling. I strongly advise steering clear of this place, though I'm certain the receptionists would be delighted with reduced workload.

Terrible customer service kills patient's hope
Stuck on hold once again, enduring over an hour of waiting despite being ninth in line, it seemed like only a single representative was handling calls. My epi pen prescription continues to be mishandled, no matter how many times I attempt to correct and request resolution. Their complete lack of concern is infuriating. To make matters worse, I found myself second in the queue for another 40 minutes, only to have them close for lunch, forcing me to restart the entire process. The service is absolutely terrible. Why not hire additional staff or activate proper triage features? It's clear they couldn't care less about customer support!

Worst medical care ever shocking patient experience
This surgical practice is a complete farce with zero patient consideration! I've been relentlessly pursuing my MRI scan results for four weeks, despite the scan occurring 14 weeks ago. They've taken an entire month just to acknowledge my repeated result requests. The medical secretaries are completely incompetent. (As a medical secretary myself, I'm absolutely disgusted by the abysmal standards this practice tolerates!) Their phone lines are perpetually engaged, and I've been unable to secure an appointment in six weeks, even after having half my lung surgically removed 14 weeks ago. Despite multiple promises, not a single return call has materialized. The staff's attitude is utterly indifferent and couldn't care less. Their duty of care is non-existent, and the practice manager urgently needs to discipline the staff and teach them basic professionalism and respect!

Terrible healthcare with zero customer communication
Their service is utterly deplorable. Communication attempts through digital channels are consistently disregarded, despite repeated attempts to reach out. I've tried engaging via their online platform and email, yet received zero acknowledgment. Moreover, their appointment system is incredibly restrictive — they exclusively provide last-minute "urgent" time slots, even for persistent medical concerns. The lack of consistent patient care and genuine attentiveness is remarkable. This experience is profoundly exasperating and completely unacceptable.

Compassionate care from a truly understanding doctor
I, Louis Okai, would like to share my experience with the Stopsley Village Practice Surgery. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to the receptionists who are consistently helpful, courteous, and have always made me feel at ease 😊. Additionally, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sarim Iqbal 🙌. Dr. Iqbal has been instrumental in improving my overall well-being through our interactions. Given my intricate medical needs and my historical struggle to discuss personal health matters, I often found myself unable to seek the necessary support. However, Dr. Iqbal has completely transformed my approach, providing compassionate guidance throughout my challenging health journey. I am truly appreciative of his support. 😊

Unprofessional care during critical mental health consultation
During my mental health consultation, where I was struggling with suicidal thoughts, the physician displayed an incredibly unprofessional approach. She had her children present in the consultation room, instructing them to conceal themselves behind a curtain while I attempted to discuss my critical emotional state. Her attention was clearly divided, with her focus seemingly more invested in her children's background squabbling than in my serious concerns. After filing a formal complaint about this deeply inappropriate encounter, I have been met with complete silence and a total lack of responsive support. The entire experience represents an absolutely unacceptable standard of care.

Terrible service and lack of medical compassion
Ever since becoming a patient at Stopsley Village Practice in 2017, I've repeatedly experienced a sense of neglect. The reception staff, without fail, respond to every inquiry with the same dismissive statement that no appointments are available, which has become a consistent and deeply aggravating pattern. It's particularly disheartening to realize that despite our regular financial contributions to healthcare through government taxes, we are met with such blatant apathy and inefficiency from the staff. I take no pleasure in expressing these critical observations, but the treatment one receives is genuinely disappointing and unacceptable.

Frustrating nhs experience with poor communication
I hesitate to write such a review, but after multiple experiences, I feel compelled to share my concerns, especially for those who might struggle to advocate for themselves. As someone who deeply values the NHS and understands its challenges, I try not to be a burden, often to my own detriment. A few years back, after experiencing chest pains, 111 requested a heart and chest scan, which was never followed up during my over-40s check (delayed due to the pandemic). I was assured the scan would be ordered, but two years later, nothing has happened. Following an assessment where I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, I was enrolled in a face-to-face management course, yet again, no follow-up occurred. Increasingly frustrated by poor management, I continued to avoid seeking help until a recent stroke. Expecting medication review and liver assessment, I found myself running out of initial medications with no communication. Attempting to discuss prescription renewal, I encountered an automated line open merely 30 minutes daily. After queuing three times and waiting the allocated time, the line was abruptly disconnected. Critically low on blood thinners, I was forced to visit in person. The receptionist initially claimed no notes were available, but an extended search proved otherwise, though the A&E discharge letter was reportedly missing (despite being found at a recent Drop-In centre visit). Unable to immediately help, I was told to wait 24 hours for a pharmacy callback. While the pharmacist was helpful, I expected a message with an address to forward the discharge letter and arrange prescription. Twenty-four hours later, my blood pressure remained elevated with no communication. As a reasonably healthy, middle-aged man capable of self-advocacy, I'm writing on behalf of those less able to voice their concerns. While I recognize the sector's difficulties and acknowledge many dedicated professionals, I find the surgery impersonal and lacking empathy. This was epitomized during my recent visit when the receptionist showed no ownership of the issue, answered a phone mid-conversation without acknowledgment, and then questioned my presence upon call completion. I left utterly shocked and profoundly disappointed.

Friendly receptionists make medical visits a breeze
I've been a patient at this medical practice for an extended period. The transformation in the reception team is remarkable. Recently, when I've needed assistance, the receptionists have consistently been exceptional. It's a delightful contrast to the past, when contacting the surgery was often discouraging because of the unwelcoming demeanor of some front desk personnel.

Compassionate doctor who truly listens and cares
Finally, a physician who dedicates time to listening and genuinely cares about your concerns. Their attentive approach makes you feel truly heard, and they provide reassuring guidance that improvement is possible. Their demeanor is compassionate, respectful, and warm. The medical practice now seems like it could potentially restore faith in the NHS, with Dr. Iqbal representing a promising turning point for resolving long-standing issues. I sincerely hope his exceptional professional approach and delightful personality (including his apparent love for strawberry laces) will continue to benefit the Stopsley practice in the years ahead.

Compassionate doctor who truly listens and cares
Dr. Iqbal demonstrates exceptional professionalism and creates an environment where patients feel at ease discussing their health concerns. His approach is characterized by genuine empathy and attentive listening. Despite my long absence from medical consultations, he provided a comprehensive explanation about health considerations for individuals in their fifties, detailing the specific blood tests he recommends and the insights he seeks to gain. His compassionate and thorough manner truly sets him apart, and I wholeheartedly award him a perfect five-star rating for his outstanding medical care.
