Reception asked for visit reasons in waiting room

I was quite concerned that the receptionist inquired about the purpose of each patient's visit to the surgery during the check-in process. Regardless of whether staff members have medical qualifications, patient privacy should be maintained at all times and not disclosed in a public area where others can hear. It would be beneficial if this practice were discontinued promptly.

Practice ignored registration requests repeatedly

The approach to accepting new patients seems to be one of avoidance, hoping that interested individuals will eventually seek care elsewhere. I attempted to register my elderly mother with this practice, but received no response from the management team or senior clinicians. Despite the fact that her immediate neighbours are already patients at the practice, there was no flexibility or empathy shown in the process.

I would like to provide feedback regarding my recent visit. I experienced a considerable wait time before being seen, as my scheduled appointment was significantly delayed. What was booked for an earlier time did not commence until over an hour later, which proved inconvenient for me. While I recognise that occasional delays are unavoidable, this has been a recurring issue across multiple visits. I would find it helpful if communication about any delays could be provided more promptly. Due to the pattern of difficulties I have encountered, I am considering transferring to another practice. The overall standard of service has fallen short of my expectations. I appreciate your consideration of this feedback.

Reception staff were dismissive about appointment timing

I am very disappointed with my experience at the reception desk. When my sister called, one receptionist suggested she ring back in the morning, which she did. However, the staff member she spoke to on the second call was quite dismissive when we enquired about the possibility of an afternoon appointment instead, as my sister had an early morning commitment. The receptionist was unhelpful in their tone and seemed unwilling to work with us, simply stating that was the only slot available. While I understand that appointment availability can be limited, I felt the manner in which this was communicated was unnecessarily curt and unkind. There was no need for such a harsh approach when politely explaining the situation.

This surgery is fantastic and the medical team and staff always take great care to look after patients. I've been able to secure urgent appointments on multiple occasions and they ran on schedule. Reception staff overlooked a task during a recent visit. I was seen by a clinician regarding a medication adjustment. A referral was arranged for additional support services. Although I initially considered cancelling a scheduled appointment, the staff member was considerate and helped resolve the matters I raised. Despite the assistance provided, I have not experienced improvement in my condition since then.

Once they became aware of my work location, I felt dismissed and was advised to attend a hospital in that area after finishing work. Felt unheard and dismissed during appointment

First appointment at this surgery for my teenage daughter. I won't go into details but this appointment was for a health concern. So was expecting some support and help from the practice… I was very wrong. I have never been so disgusted and shocked and angry with how this appointment was handled. The clinician was rude, very disrespectful and condescending. Please if anyone has children or are dealing with similar concerns, and they book an appointment for this type of issue. I would suggest considering alternatives. Because after this experience, it has made matters worse not better for my daughter. I feel this clinician is not suited to this type of work.
