Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals significant challenges across multiple service areas, with appointment availability emerging as the most persistent concern. Patients report repeated difficulties securing consultations despite multiple attempts, with many describing extended waiting periods on phone lines only to be told no slots are available. Booking experience is frequently characterised as frustrating and time-consuming, with some patients calling daily without success. Reception experience receives considerable criticism, with patients describing discourteous and dismissive staff interactions, though a small number of recent reviews note improved courtesy from reception personnel.

Prescription processing and medication access present ongoing issues, with patients reporting delays in prescription forwarding, stock unavailability, and unclear communication between the practice and pharmacy services. Communication more broadly is identified as problematic, including missed appointment reminders, unclear guidance on procedures, and limited responsiveness to patient enquiries. Several reviews highlight concerns about waiting experience both on the phone and in-person, with some patients reporting waits exceeding an hour.

A minority of recent reviews indicate some positive developments, with patients noting improved staff attitude and supportive service from certain team members. However, these positive experiences remain substantially outweighed by reports of appointment unavailability, poor reception courtesy, prescription delays, and overall unresponsiveness to patient needs.

Terrible service and unprofessional customer experience

The employees here display a complete lack of professionalism. They consistently misplace essential paperwork and fail to meet their promised timelines. I've been waiting far longer than initially indicated for my letter, and to date, I still haven't received it. Their customer service is unacceptably poor.

Customer service here is practically nonexistent, and when you do request assistance, be prepared to wait an eternity—like a full year—just to receive a simple report. It's incredibly frustrating!

Confusing medical communication left me anxious

Anxiously awaiting medical test outcomes, I received a cryptic text message from my physician scheduling an appointment, which immediately raised my anxiety levels, especially since it pertains to my kidney health. The message indicated my results were ready and under review, but then I discovered the text was accidentally sent to me and actually meant for another patient sharing my first name. A full week has now passed, and I remain completely uninformed about my own test results, leaving me in a state of uncertainty and growing frustration.

Compassionate doctor worth the scheduling hassle

Dr. Boskany stands out as the sole physician at Swanpool I have complete confidence in. Her bedside manner is exceptional, and she truly embodies empathy. However, scheduling a consultation with her is an exercise in frustration. The front desk staff make accessing her care surprisingly challenging.

Worst customer service ever from power-hungry receptionists

The front desk staff here are drunk on authority. I've never encountered such an unpleasant, demeaning, and arrogant attitude from any other business's reception team. These individuals seem to think they're some kind of hybrid between law enforcement and medical professionals. In reality, they're just receptionists, and in any other workplace, they would have been immediately terminated for such unprofessional conduct.

Frustrating healthcare system destroys patient communication

As a healthcare worker with demanding 12-hour shifts, I've struggled immensely to connect with medical professionals. Attempting to schedule a doctor's appointment involves endless waiting periods, which is impossible given my limited 30-minute breaks. I diligently sent six straightforward letters to DVLA over a 15-month period, only to discover they don't address correspondence related to private work. I've been persistently trying to explain my challenging circumstances. It's been nearly two years since my last doctor's visit, and every attempt to reach the right person results in being told to call back another day. When I do manage to find time during work to contact them, they take my contact details but never follow up with a return call. The entire healthcare communication system is completely unacceptable and feels like an absolute mockery.

Frustrating booking system fails working professionals

The digital reservation platform continues to be dysfunctional - professionals like myself, unable to make calls during work hours, are completely shut out from scheduling appointments - what's causing these persistent issues - as I've previously mentioned, everywhere else has returned to standard operations, so why is Swanpool lagging behind

Swanpool saves the day with quick help

Recently, the updates at swanpool have been incredibly supportive. I've been struggling for two days to get assistance, but after explaining my circumstances, they quickly scheduled me an appointment for the following day. This is fantastic and a significant improvement from their previous approach.

Dangerous healthcare neglect puts patients at serious risk

This medical facility is utterly deplorable with a neglected exterior appearance. Their prescription management is atrocious, consistently failing to process and sign scripts promptly, which has led to critical medication shortages. My sister has multiple times been left without insulin due to their incompetent inventory management. This practice absolutely demands a thorough investigation by the Quality Care Commission, and I fully intend to file a formal complaint with the NHS. 😡😡

Frustrating healthcare system fails heart failure patient

I'm dealing with heart failure and consistently struggle to secure medical appointments. Each time I call, I'm instructed to phone back at 8am, but even then, I'm unable to book a slot. This situation requires immediate attention. The receptionists keep me on hold for extended periods, and by the time I finally connect, all appointments are gone. It becomes impossible to see a doctor when the staff continually claim no availability exists. I've discussed this issue with other health professionals, and they are investigating on my behalf. I find it deeply disturbing how patients are treated in this manner.

Terrible healthcare with zero patient care or compassion

This medical center is absolutely dreadful. I've been attempting to secure a fertility referral for IVF for more than five months with zero success. Their appointment availability is consistently non-existent, whether you're calling or physically present at the clinic. On the rare occasion you manage to secure a doctor's consultation, they rush through the interaction, cutting conversations short and leaving you more bewildered than when you arrived. The personnel display a shocking level of indifference and are uncooperatively unhelpful. If the rating system allowed it, I would assign zero stars. I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I advise against anyone seeking treatment at this GP practice.

Terrible medical service that leaves patients in suspense

I've encountered the most abysmal healthcare service in the West Midlands. To receive any information about your blood test results, you're forced to endure a minimum two-week wait for a physician's appointment. Meanwhile, other medical facilities proactively contact patients directly with their results, helping to alleviate potential anxiety and prevent unnecessary health complications. Absolutely substandard medical care!

Terrible medical care that puts patients last

These folks deserve absolute zero rating. Their complete disregard for elderly patients is appalling. Their approach is rigidly bureaucratic, more like a strict military protocol than a compassionate healthcare service. In an emergency situation, they absolutely refuse to make any accommodations, demonstrating a shocking lack of flexibility and empathy.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs

I'd rate this zero stars if the system allowed it. It's baffling why they're accepting new patients when they're already overwhelmed and unable to manage their current load. Scheduling an appointment is practically impossible. For days now, their staff either abruptly end phone calls or claim all slots are filled within minutes of booking opening. How is this even feasible? Apparently, they're only seeing a handful of patients daily. The receptionists are unhelpful and actively escalate frustrations. In one instance, they took eight months to process my referral, only to ultimately reject it. Neither the secretary nor the manager ever returns calls, forcing me to file a complaint through NHS just to get any acknowledgment. The service is completely unacceptable.
