Phone queue wait followed by abrupt call disconnection
I have generally had acceptable experiences at this practice, but I encountered a frustrating situation yesterday. After submitting an online consultation, I was contacted by phone to arrange an appointment, but the only available slot was at a time I couldn't attend. The receptionist advised me to call back the following morning to reschedule. Following this guidance today, I spent over thirty minutes waiting in the telephone queue. When I finally reached someone and explained my circumstances, I was advised to visit a pharmacy and the call was then ended before I had the opportunity to respond. This was disappointing as it wasted my morning waiting for a call that wasn't properly concluded, and I felt my time could have been better spent visiting the pharmacy the previous day rather than waiting for what I believed would be a rescheduled appointment. Additionally, on previous occasions when I have been directed to the pharmacy first, I have been told I need to see my doctor instead, which has felt like a further waste of time. While I recognise that mornings are busy periods for telephone calls, I would expect to at least have a conversation completed rather than having the phone disconnected mid-discussion.

I have had several disappointing experiences at this practice. When I explained that I was struggling significantly with my mental health, I felt that the support and referral process did not progress as I had hoped. I was also told I did not meet the criteria for a particular contraceptive option, which was frustrating given my age. Additionally, I have been without an important medication for nearly two weeks, and despite having an online consultation, I have not received the follow-up communication I was expecting. I've been attending this practice for many years and have been fortunate to work with several excellent clinicians. The standard of care I've received is genuinely outstanding. The facility itself is spotless, contemporary and welcoming, and I've consistently found all team members to be considerate, attentive and supportive. The appointment booking system operates efficiently, and I regularly use the online patient portal to access test outcomes, which typically become available within a day of testing, review my medical information, and request repeat prescriptions with complete ease. I'm genuinely uncertain what additional improvements could reasonably be expected.

The practice repeatedly fails to process my repeat prescription requests properly. Despite my explicit instruction to discontinue a particular medication due to my allergy, they have continued to dispense it to me. Additionally, they have stopped another medication without any communication or clarification. The reception team appears to experience frequent staff changes, which seems to contribute to the overall lack of organisation. Most concerning is that I have been removed from the patient list following a missed appointment caused by illness, which I feel is an unreasonable response to a genuine circumstance.

Refused to switch doctors within practice
I had a difficult experience with my previous GP practice. On multiple occasions, I felt uncomfortable during appointments, and I was unable to obtain the referrals I needed. When I requested to switch to a different clinician within the practice, my requests were declined on two separate occasions. Eventually, I decided to register with a different practice altogether, where I have found the care and support to be significantly better. Based on my experience, I would suggest exploring other options if possible, as I do not feel I can recommend this particular practice.

After attempting to secure an appointment with my usual healthcare provider, I was informed that there were no available slots. I find this quite frustrating, as the last time I was able to see my regular doctor was some years ago, and I have not needed medical attention since then.
