Evening and weekend appointments now available

The practice used to be challenging to access, particularly with the telephone callback system which appeared to have connectivity issues. However, over the last year I've been delighted by the introduction of evening and weekend appointment slots! I've also appreciated the continuity of being able to see the same healthcare professional. The team have consistently been warm and genuinely supportive, though accessibility was previously the main obstacle. I'm very pleased with the improvements, and my current healthcare provider has demonstrated excellent efficiency combined with a caring approach, which has restored my confidence and satisfaction with the service.

Impossible to do anything without visiting in person

This practice has been extremely frustrating to deal with. The inability to handle matters by telephone, book appointments, or request repeat medications makes accessing care unnecessarily difficult. Every interaction seems to involve unnecessary complications and obstacles, regardless of what you need. I would strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere if possible.

Quick online responses and genuinely helpful staff

10/10. I have been a patient at this practice for many years and have consistently had a positive experience. The team members are always considerate and approachable. While it can be challenging to reach the practice by phone, as is often the case with medical services, once contact is made the staff handle enquiries promptly and with genuine courtesy. The digital appointment system functions well and responses through this channel are typically swift. My various requests have been managed thoroughly and the team has been receptive to my questions about my own health matters and those of my family. When I have needed medical records or test information, these have been provided promptly via email. I am very grateful for the care received and would strongly encourage others to register with this practice. ☺️😄👍

Phone queues made staff seem unwilling to help

I would give this practice a very low rating if possible. I found the service to be extremely disappointing and the clinical care inadequate. There were several significant issues. Prescription requests were frequently delayed, phone lines were difficult to reach and took considerable time to answer, and when contact was made, the reception felt unwelcoming and dismissive. Staff seemed hurried and impatient during conversations. One particular clinician came across as condescending and appeared to hold biased views. My partner attended with serious health concerns and felt judged and belittled rather than supported, which discouraged her from seeking further care and allowed her condition to worsen. Multiple incorrect assessments were made and unnecessary medications prescribed before eventually discovering underlying metabolic and renal issues at a relatively young age. These conditions could have been identified and managed appropriately with proper clinical attention rather than the judgmental approach experienced. I would not recommend this practice to anyone seeking genuine healthcare support and improvement.

An excellent and highly regarded medical practice. As with surgeries across the country, it is advisable to arrange appointments in advance when possible. Telephone lines for booking appointments can become quite busy, which is understandable given the demand.

Practitioner took time to understand my needs

Had an appointment with the urgent care practitioner who was absolutely brilliant. I couldn't hear most of what was being said to me because of my hearing difficulties, but they were so kind and understanding. Even though I felt awful and upset, they made me feel supported rather than judged. I've attended twice now and on both occasions felt as though they went out of their way to help me, even though I understand it's part of their role. I just wanted to express my gratitude. The whole team does a brilliant job.

Impossible phone queues and no available appointments

I would rate this practice extremely poorly if possible. This has been one of the most challenging medical practices I have had to navigate as a patient. Reaching someone by phone requires considerable time and effort, regardless of when you call, and available appointments are consistently scarce. The difficulty in accessing care has led me to manage my health concerns independently rather than attempt to contact the practice due to the lengthy process involved. Online booking options are rarely available. The reception staff have come across as dismissive and unhelpful during interactions. Overall, the practice does not feel patient-focused in its approach.

Reception and staff genuinely care about patients

Despite the NHS facing challenges, I have consistently experienced nothing but helpful and professional care from this practice. The staff genuinely demonstrate that they care. From the reception team through to those handling telephone and prescription requests, everyone has been supportive. The nursing team has been excellent, particularly during the pandemic, and my GP has been outstanding in their support. I'm disappointed to hear about their upcoming retirement but am genuinely pleased for them as well. Given my complex healthcare requirements and my current mobility needs, this practice has made managing my medical care considerably more straightforward over the years.

Phone lines let down otherwise good care

I have consistently been able to access appointments with medical professionals and have received follow-up contact when needed. The care provided has been excellent and I am very satisfied with it. I have reduced my rating to 4 stars due to difficulties with the telephone system. The service is unreliable and extremely difficult to reach. On one occasion, I experienced a wait time of over 2 hours. This is quite frustrating. However, I remain very pleased with the quality of care and the professionalism of the team.

Patronising and aggressive manner left me upset

While the NHS faces significant pressures, this should not serve as justification for a healthcare professional to deliver care without adequate effectiveness, compassion, or empathy. During my appointment, the clinician appeared to attribute their conduct to external circumstances beyond their control. However, the manner in which someone communicates and conducts themselves is ultimately a personal choice. I felt spoken to in a way that seemed condescending and aggressive, which left me feeling the interaction was unprofessional. If someone finds themselves unable to provide the level of care and consideration that patients deserve, it may be worth reconsidering whether their current role is the right fit. It appeared that frustrations were being directed toward me during what should have been a supportive healthcare interaction.

I felt that my experience with one clinician at this practice was unsatisfactory. I found their approach to be dismissive and unhelpful during my appointment. When I raised concerns about this experience with the practice management, I was disappointed by what I perceived as a lack of thorough engagement with my feedback.
